"parts can be damaged" mean, mainly, that the plastic rubbing against each other could leave scuffs and marks. you could also in theory cause stress fractures in the parts from repeatedly bending them to get them on and off over and over. when they package the figure they typically put a layer of clear protective plastic between between any separate parts that may come in contact with each other while in transit. really though, the "parts can be damaged" warning is a liability disclaimer so if you do break something or mark up your figure pulling parts off the store doesn't have to replace it.

Honestly, I think it's wishful thinking to expect anything under 20,000yen for this. Keep in mind the VF-0A/S had an msrp of 34,800yen. Going off what past GBP sets have cost compared to the toys they go on, somewhere between 60% and 80% of the base toy's MSRP is what we should be expecting.

Terminator 5/Terminator: Genisys, opening July 1, 2015
anime52k8 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
this is only slightly related, but I re-watched terminator 2 recently. gotta say it wasn't nearly as good as I remember it. John and sarah annoyed the crap out of me and the whole movie felt kind of slow. Also i feel like T2 has the weakest plot of all 5 films.- 508 replies

Ok, now that I'm home and can look at my storm trooper in hand i can see what's new. It really is mostly a new hat. I'm so used to the more modern updated storm trooper helmet that the corrected one actually looks a little off to me. The extra hip articulation is gonna be nice though. I wonder how the color is gonna compare to the existing one, I kind of want to put the v1 helmet on the more poseable body.

The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
anime52k8 replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hi. These toys have been discontinued for at least a decade and Yamato toys no longer exists as a company, so your chances of finding factory replacement parts is extremely slim. That said, there are 3D printed swing arm replacements available on shapeways designed by board memeber VF5SS that should work: http://www.shapeways.com/product/85MQ9F2T7/mz-23-garrand-set?optionId=41038739&li=user-profile as for upgrading to newer toys; there are three new Garland toys currently in development. the first is the non-scale EX Gokin from Fewture: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=42181 it looks gorgeous but it's really expensive: http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?scode=FIGURE-017927 there's also a 1/24 scale Garland coming from Arcadia (the successor company to the now defunct Yamato): http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=42785 and just recently freeing anounced a 1/24 scale E=X Garland from megazone23 part 3: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=43982- 1057 replies

Star Trek Beyond (the not The Search for Spock)
anime52k8 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
TL;DR JJ-prise isn't really that big, people only claim it's that big because of artistic license in one scene that Trek nerds won't let go because trek nerds are literally the worst.- 466 replies

I'm still the only person who doesn't like the YF-23 or the T-50 apparently. 5th generation fighters are just fugly. -
TBH, an updated megs that's still a gun is kind of stupid.
