Thank you VFTF1 for quick and easy dealings. Absolutely satisfied with my MG Crossbone Gundam.
-
Well I like it, but I am very disappointed at the lack of a pilot figure. Maybe it is a separate piece that one has to be pulled out box and placed in the Valk?
More pics to satisfy the needs: toysdaily
Judging by the usage of emoticons I would say, the forum members seem be disappointed or baffled, but I have no clue as for the reason.
-
Brace yourselves for disappointment, it looks like we might be getting yet another Gundam dealing around OYW.
Take with a grain of salt, pics could be used to promote something entirely different.
This is the RX-78-7
And some general info:
"Title: Unknown
Mechanic Design: Katoki Hajime
Character Design: Suzuki Tatsuya
Mobile Suit: Phantom Gundam Unit No.7
EARTH FEDERATION PHANTOM SWEEP TEAM
Hughes Curro: Male. Age 32. A veteran officer who leads the Phantom Sweep special forces unit charged with hunting for Zeon remnants. He has a bitter experience in which his unit was annihilated in the past.
Sherry Allison: Female. Age 24. She was serving as a test pilot but was assigned to the special forces unit as a replacement.
ZEON FORCES INVINCIBLE KNIGHTS
Erik Blanque (Blank): Male. Age 20. A young officer whose family is a distinguished family in the Principality of Zeon. He takes command of the “Invincible Knights” in order to execute a counterattack operation against the Earth Federation Forces.
Story: The time is Universal Century 0081. It’s been one year has passed since the war. Although the world was regaining order, small-scale battles continued in various places by the Zeon remnants who still continued to resist. During the situation, an veteran soldier of the Earth Federation Forces is appointed to a cleanup operation of the Zeon remnant forces. Feelings mix on the battlefield as the young Zeon officers promote the top-secret strategy for the revival of Zeon…"

Looking at that poster, I would say most of my wants are covered.
Hikaru Strike, VF-4, VF-2SS, VF-11, VF-17D, and of course VF-25S w/o Armor.
Can't say I care about Basara's VF-19, but I'm sure the other variants including my favourite, the VF-19S will made... and that makes me excited.
There is only three more Valks I want for this line: VF-5000, VF-11D and SW-XA1 Schneeblume.
-
Actually that's Kakizaki dressed up as Roy, flying a 1J. He desperately trying to change the timeline and escape his inevitable death.
-
More like 1/120. But it gets worse because the VF-1 will probably be as tall as the previous GN-U Valks and we all know that is wrong.
So even an unofficial unified scale has been tossed out of the window.
It is sort of annoying, those stupid candy toys are given a 1/200 scale but the GN-Us are not.
Yamato higher-ups really make weirs/idiotic descions sometimes...
-
LOL, the GN-U VF-1 has side covers, but their high end variant has gaping black holes left and right.
Graham can you just ask and get a definite word from Yamato on why the 1/60s have to suffer.
The GN-Us look good and the somewhat modular inner frame thing is neat idea.
But the lack of scaling has killed any interest on these things for me.
So I find myself more interested and willing to invest in Bandai's 1/100 line.
As for articulation, well that is debatable. A fully decked out VF-1 with FP and missiles hardly leaves room for posing the arms.
-
Well if they are making this, then surely a TV VF-1S with Hikaru pilot should not be impossible.
And looking at those pics has reminded me we still need those damn SIDE COVERS!!!!!

At MEGA HOBBY EXPO 2009 Alter is showing the Arbalest again, but the real news is that the M9 Gernsback looks ike the next release.
-
Gundam: RX-93 Nu/Hi-Nu Gundam. If the word "power" had to be defined as a mecha, then this is it. Runners-up: RX-105 Xi Gundam and RX-0 Unicorn Gundam.
Macross: VF-19S Excalibur. Runners-up: classic VF-1S and SW-XA1 Schneeblume.
Other: ARX-7 Arbalest (FMP). Second and third are: Lancelot Albion (Code Geass), ATM-FX-∞/SSS-X Testa Rossa (Votoms)
-------------
Out of the first place winners, it's definitely going to be Nu/Hi-Nu Gundam.

@badboy00z
Size is about 16cm. I think that refers to Battroid mode.

More images of all the DX Valks dressed in Super Packs and the 1/100 VF-25F with its packaging in the background from the Tamashii Nations event.

Graham, if Yamato released a VF-1S with the things you listed, then I would definitely grab one.
Key element for me is that it must come packed with the two pilots. Otherwise it would mean I still need
to buy a Hikaru-1J if I wanted the correct pilot, and it would make the whole TV VF-1S thing kind of moot.
-
Ahh MG Gundam F91, to date one of my worst build up experiences. I had the internal mechanism on one of the VSRBs break in half, one of those guidance thingies on the tip of the beam launcher break and worst of all one of the shoulder fins connecting clip break. I don't know if it was the kit or a fluke of incompetence on my behalf at the time, but it took a lot of enjoyment away from me.
@Ghost Train
Your painting looks crisp and clean, good job. Paint scheme looks a bit awkward to me personally.
-
-
Or you can go with the GFF Metal Composite RX-78, approx. the same size as a MG.
Saves you the building if that is not your thing.
-
Exo, please elaborate why the split?
And you haven't finished your job properly. Where are the Hikaru VF-1S images?
-
This is interesting news and the problem solving seems to be going in a positive direction.
But at the same time it also means a bunch of us do have "inferior" products or at least ticking
time bombs when it comes to the shoulders.
Nope, on a personal level I don't feel all to happy about this development.
-
@VFTF1
Why do you refer to the WHITE BASE as White Horse? Are you watching a bootleg or something. Oh, and it's "Char" with one "r" only. OK, I'll stop Gundam lecturing now.
As for the movie/series/whatever rumors, I've heard them, too, although I'm not sure if ANYONE (outside of the Bandai higher-ups) knows if there's any truth to them. Certainly, the merchandising continues unabated...there's a new MG model of Sinanju.Personally, if they are going to to an adaptation of an existing novel series, I'd much rather see Mobile Suit Gaiagear made as an anime. The Universal Century timeline needs a better send-off than G-Saviour.
Well I think there is going to be another anime after Gundam 00.
I'm inclined to believe it's going to be UC because of the 30th anniversary thing and this website http://www.gundam30th.net/ they put up. For a while it was rumored that Unicorn would get animated treatment but latest rumors say that it could be a SEED movie.
Personally I favour anything on the back heels of CCA, so that would be either Unicorn or maybe Hathaway's Flash. On the other hand I wouldn't say no to Crossbone Gundam anime either. What I don't want to see is something dealing with OYW again and I'm indifferent to whether Tomino is involved or not.
-
I too was wondering why they haven't released a re-colour of the YF-19.
But I think Yamato wants to get the M+ trio in original colours out first and then re-start the line with colour variants.
-
Good review Jenius. I wish your pictures were a bit bigger, but if it is because of web space restraints I understand.
Oh and One more thing, can you say something about the toy dimensions. How tall Battroid mode with ankles extended?
Did Bandai get the scaling right or wrong?
Graham were is your review or are you not going to bother?

Link no. 3 is quite interesting because it shows you the main VF frame without all the swappable bits.
I really like Battroid mode and its range of articulation. And it does look like there is a pilot figure, albeit part of the cockpit mold.
Can't wait for a VF-19S to roll out, hopefully without the Yamato gangling legs interpretation that Bandai seems to be copying.
