Metal Composite Wing Gundam Zero Albion

This one is a bit of a surprise announcement, a new 1/35 model kit of Billbine is being made and it is part of the R3 line. Yes, the very R3 line we all thought was considered axed by Bandai after only four releases!?

It might be an expensive model kit, but I think it is a way better proposition compared to the Metal Structure.

Synergenex Shield-D-Prime
https://www.taghobby.com/archives/803238Pretty neat how Takara has integrated a lot of Diaclone play feature into this, a shame that robot mode just doesn't appeal to me.

What are your main grievances?
Mine would be that it has not enough accessories (hello, $100 hyper mega launcher add on set).
My main issue is that it looks not stylized enough. He almost looks like the Ver. Ka version. There are some differences and I’m looking forward having the opportunity to looking at one in person.
Thank’s to the review I cannot unsee how big the head of the MB Zeta is.
Basically the same, very light on the included accessories. Ignoring the Hyper Mega Launcher for a moment, they could have maybe added some effect parts, optional heads (different design, Zaku) or maybe an alternate diorama base like they did with the X3 Crossbone – Psycho Gundam comes to mind here.
I'm okay with how the Zeta looks, but in a similar direction I'm sort of missing that extra "wow" feature/gimmick. I think the problem here is that I'm not seeing the whole transformation thing as the big feature, because it's kind of integral standard stuff to me for doing Zeta Gundam. It would of been nice if Bandai had done something extra with Wing/Tail binder, like a different configuration for example.

It's a contradiction of sorts in Fighter.. I like the overall sculpt, especially the sexy curvature behind the cockpit but there's that weird abrupt cliff at the neck cover. The intakes look great here - it's a normal feature on most other valk toys, but a first for a Fire Valk (?), but that knee gap is distracting and looks even more prominent than Arcadia's. Couldn't Bandai make that black area red or something to mask it a bit?
No complains on Battroid sculpt though. The legs are long yet suitably chunky. I'm just concerned that it doesn't look like there's a cockpit rotation gimmick, to enable us viewing Basara sitting inside the egress hatch. This is all the more reason for me to hold on to the other 1/60, or even hunt one on top of this. It's always the little Yamato / Arcadia extra little touches that really endears.
Meanwhile, just recording for posterity:
I'm just glad that Bandai doesn't do the drooping nose thing with fighter mode and keeps it in a relatively straight line, unlike what Yamato/Arcadia has with the YF-/VF-19

This is the money shot!
Decades of various different PT toys costing hundreds and to this day none of them can pull of this dynamic pose.

Hatchacka has got a review up for the MB Zeta. After reading the review, I'm not so sure on how "great" this latest entry is, but still going to try and get one.

I see some elements in look and approach sort of carried over from Bandai's YF-19, like the shoulder, upper arm, the way the nose cone is housed or how they avoid the ugly cutout around the upper leg/inner thigh. And just like the YF-19, deep elbow bend will be possible without implementing Yamato's/Arcadia's weak solution of shifting the bicep out of the way.

More of Hasbro Leader cla... err... Takara MPG-17. Surprisingly it actually has a waist-crunch, although showing OP from the rear to demonstrate is a bit weird.

It looks cheap; major step down from previous offerings.
It absolutely is, it's going back to the dark ages of MP like the early stuff or the Hasui era simplicity with "good enough" approximations in implementation. I take consolation in the fact that it is a sub-line.

Pity they didn't add in the Star Saber from Prime show or Devastation game.

False posting, pressed the wrong button...

"Style Gen." is just a new sub-line within MPG (think MG Ver.Ka or MGEX) that this incarnation of Optimus Prime is kicking off, the whole thing absolutely has no bearing on characters that don't have a MP yet, those will be released when Takara deems them ready. MP was consolidated into MPG for easier management as part of Takara's toy line rebranding/restructuring, it is still the dedicated high-end line for Transformers toys. I really don't understand why everyone seems to think there is some deeper hidden truth to MPG, it's no different than Audi merging previously labelled A4 cars into the A5 line for the current generation.

It's essentially MP-10 ver. 2.0 – I am intrigued but from what I have seen so far, it is definitely nowhere near the class and sophistication of MP-44. Once again the hybrid design approach – which tends to invite the designers to oversimplify and under-engineer – holistically leads to sub-par results for the toy in sculpt, proportions and functionality.

Ah... good times – anyone else remember this series when growing up? 😄

now is this the so called movie, or is this an actual series? Cause I've gotten massively confused.
