Nice touch with opening cockpit hatch and that the GFFMC team took into consideration that the Gouf is actually slightly bigger than a Zaku.

Glad i have a snow sparkle coming in as the paint scheme and tones are similar to strike freedom soul blue ver

This was the review that prompted me to get it

I'm hoping there is a sparkling effect (sorry couldn't resist) on the OG Concept 2 with strong price drops. Picking it up for 36k or less would be great.

@lechuck I have the initial release and WWM release, the WWM release does have some changes. The blue paint on the WWM is darker, and the joints appear to be a bit tighter but then again my initial release the joints may have loosened over time.  On the WWM release, I did notice that the knee/leg extension doesn't have a tight "lock" when extending and the arm cannons seem to align properly forward in fighter mode.

    Thanks @Saburo.

So the WWM release seems like the one to get, mainly for joint tightness and better aligning cannons.

  3. So Bandai is launching this new project called "Sunrise Spirits" where they will be reissuing some of their popular mecha from the different Tamashii lines as P-Bandai.

One of the initial releases is going to be HMR L-Gaim, so this might be a chance to grab a fresh copy if you missed out the first time.
Pre-order starts 25 Dec. and release is already supposed to be in January.

  4. My thoughts on Bandai's showcasing...

Metal Structure – is it me or is the turnaround on these things faster than new Perfect Grade releases? Bandai hobby division is really slacking off these days...

Nice to see the Impulse Gundam although not enthused that it looks like it will be a bare bones release, meaning we are in for at least 10+ years of the MB line being bloated with various different Impulses, packs, tampo variants, reissues etc. Maybe retail, most probably P-Bandai and irritatingly store event exclusive release.

Lancelot Albion looks great, I noticed Bandai hasn't advertised any opening cockpit gimmick on this one. Probably didn't want to catch flak for not providing a pilot figure again.

Looks like the basic MB Astrays will all be standardised with new the newer armour sculpt first introduced with Astray Red Dragonics. The Blue Frame also seems to be getting a different head unit. A bit frustrating for me as I just recently went out of my way to pick up Red and Blue. Pass on Green Frame, but I'll probably try and get the Mirage. Surprised there is no showing of a MB Astray Noir.

  5. For those that are curious about Bandai's HG Scopedog.

Edit: Here is another one with a comparison to the Wave kit. I find Wave's version to be better, the HG just overall feels too basic.

So it's going to come with the Gouf Custom equipment in addition to the Gouf weapons? nice.

Essentially it is Ramaba Ral's Gouf that can be tweaked to look somewhat like the custom, but is not really a proper MS-07B-3. For example the wired grappling hook instead of the whip for the right arm is missing, paint scheme is obviously different and the torso doesn't have the correct sculpting (side plating around the cockpit hatch).

Which raises the question, will Bandai actually bother to make a dedicated GFFMC Gouf Custom and if so, is it doomed to be P-Bandai only?

In fairness, that scheme looks rad. :good:

Indeed, I find it works quite well and the badass proportions of the PG Unleashed is doing its part in selling it.

Actually thinking about this further, it is a bit surprising that this F1 partnership hasn't been a thing much earlier. Like once a year one F1 team from past or present is picked out and put on a selected Gunpla, maybe scale it down exclusively to MG, it could make for a neat sub-collection.
