  1. Coming back to the topic of recolours again.

Would you guys buy "what if" versions of other Macross characters, for e.g. Hikaru, Roy, Max, Millia paint schemes for the YF-19? I realise some of these might be just a colour stripe here and there but I think I would buy a Hikaru version.

Since we've gone the way of none canon paint schemes anyway, this shouldn't be a problem.

And they might sell better than the standard "no name" versions...

  2. PGs are focused mainly toward the pro-modeller/collector/true high-end crowd. PGs are made in lower volumes (therefore, priced higher) and normally come in 1/60 scale. Since they are 1/60, and given that most people don't have the room for such a large model, the focus isn't on the PGs. Given the price of R&D, production and potenial sales, Bandai has to be really picky about what it produces in the PG-lineup. They can't just push it out like the HGUCs or MGs. There has to be a market for a PG or no deal.

Yeah I realise that PG are not an easy task to make and that they are not every mans cup of tea. But I get this feeling that the current interim between the Strike and the possible next one seems to be extra long. How long was the last interval between GP-01 and Strike?

I'm trying to collect my favourite mechs in one scale (not easy), that's why I have been staying away from MGs (PG 1/60 goes nice with valks). But my interest in these have been growing lately. Would the Nu Gundam be a good first purchase or should I just wait for the Hi-Nu (maybe even a Ver2 Nu)?

  3. God I would kill to be able to walk into a shop like that over here...

Have the colour suggestions that were mentioned here, actually been implemented.

I thought the dark grey parts were supposed to be a different colour.

  4. Technically it would be the seconde time Yamato has screwed up with the colour of

head lasers. The Hikaru VF-1S lasers should of been all white, but they are not...

You would of thought these mistakes would not occur at all because the plastic is

white anyway. Save the paint and money...

  5. Yay, I'm downloading this too.

But sadly I still have to edit/recode the episodes.

I've never been able to understand why almost all of the fansubber blatantly

ignore the overscan area in the video and place the subtitles there!?

  6. Hasn't Kawamori basically done that already with those VFEX-Valks he drew up.

I think one of them was called Schneeblume or something.

They looked vf-1-ish and also kept the swing wings... Looked good overall except

for the A-type Aibo dog head. Hmmm...I wonder what a VFEX S-Type head would look like...

On the otherhand you could also say the VF-0 is the re-imagining of a modern day VF-1...

  7. Well my memories of this system are not so fond.

This console had me learn a lesson the hard way, namely never to buy console solely on

hardware specs. Third party support was horrible. There is something eminently wrong when

everybodys playing some nice (and far more) fighting/rgp/action/horror games and all I can

counter with is "It's Me Mario!"...

Anyway because of this console I went into gaming abstinence for 4-5 years and eventually

got my self a ps2 and still enjoy it to this day.

  8. 2. Battroid mode would allow VERY compact packaging---I've noticed that over the years, more and more of the larger Transformers come in robot mode, probably for that reason. Note that Yamato's first valks came in battroid mode, and had WAY smaller boxes. Just compare the VF-11 and YF-21, with and without FP's.

Was it not MW itself that told Yamato to start packaging the Valks in fighter mode...?

Oh, and I like both Valks and Gundams. Why does one always have to better than the other...

  9. Well I got my vf-0s last thursday. Didn't realise Yamato started shrink wrapping the boxes.

Can't tell if it's a 1st or 2nd run, but it suffers from loose joint syndrom. I'm beginning to

think it doesen't really matter if 1st or 2nd run because all of the 1st issue vf-0s' will probably

    suffer from slighly loose joints.

As I'm a fan of battroid mode I started tranforming it immediatly and sadly one of the rubber

peaces popped out of the right shoulder. While this wasn't a problem to fix it still makes me a

little mad because after speding over 100+ Euros on this thing I shouldn't be the one fixing it.

The toy also looses a bit of it's "prestineness" after one has start removing peaces of plasitc to

    fix something.

    Random thoughts...

    - The achieved accuracy this valkyrie has for all tree forms is outstanding. Finally something that's

not just about fighter mode. It's good to see they gave the other modes some emphasis too.

    - The sliding mechanism for the nose/cockpit part is innovative. To bad the people at yamato

didn't think of this much earlier, would of also worked nicely for the vf-1.

    - One word: Magnets. Never has attaching fastpacks been easier...

    - IMO the backpack needs that latch back again.

    - Tranformation back into fighter mode is bit messy. The whole "align legs with arms and fists

with backback" is not easy. Your basically blind when trying to fit the tabs of the legs with

arms. It would probably be easier to align from viewing from top but this is hindered by the

backpack, which cannot be folded over as there is that one flap on the bp that is stiff (no joint).

The fix and loose joints aside I am overall happy and really like the vf-0s.

  10. I would definitely buy a new 1/60.

It kinda sucks that the better vf-1s are total oddballs when it comes to scale.

The main line is in 1/60 scale and I would like to have a nice/great looking

1/60 VF-1S that can be posed with the VF-0 and the soon to be -19.

  11. razorx go to wikipedia and search for the game title. I think all the menu option are listed there.

This game is cool. Kicking but with valkyries is priceless.

The only slight nitpick I have is that the vf-1 models are all missing

the hip crossbar in battroid mode...

  12. Looks great, bring on the Battroid pics.

Groovy. :D  This thing looks awesome already!  Can't wait to see more pics as they come out.

    1/48 VF-11 or 1/60 VF-11, please!

    418909[/snapback]

They better stay in one scale. I'd hate to be scale hoping again...

It still pisses me of that the better VF-1 is out of scale with everything yamato has to offer macross-wise.

  13. God, not another prequel again. Star Wars, Star Trek and Macross I really hate it...

Can we go back to the 24th century please, because this is were I "grew up".

I want my starships to be state of the art, clean and capable of taking on enemys.

Well as a fan I can at least be happy that Star Trek is still alive.

  14. Hey Graham not really a directly related question towards the yf-19, but can you tell us if yamato has finally settled on one scale for macross valkyries.

For e.g. if yamato were to produce a vf-4 would they scale it at 1/60 or would they make it aroud the 30+ cm mark. I'd much prefer one scale for all instead of constant scale changes.

  15. Well I would buy a new 1/60 VF-1.

I can't help it but I kind of feel highly irritated by the fact that the basis for the 1/60 line - the VF-1 - is craptacular compared to other current 1/60 (VF-0, Q'Rau) and probably future offerings (YF-19).

    I would like to have a 1/60 VF-1

    - whith a better S-type head. Hasagawa got it right and their battroid is only 1/72 scale.

    - the chest plate and shoulders problem fixed (Bad, very bad design there)

    - completly revamped legs. Better locking/stablizing mechanisim, knee caps and the rotation joint above the knees and not in the shin area.
