  1. You do know there's more to this site than just the forums don't you? Try the main page. Hit up the toys section and there should be plenty of video transformations you can download. For a quick and dandy link: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/_...video_guide.htm

    HAHhaha, nice one.
  3. Neato. The profile makes it look a bit like a VF-4 but with swept forward wings instead of delta.

Loose Canopy .......Again? Funny how I got a little worked up about a possible problem with another loose canopy until i realized one important thing. Not once have I ever posed the valk with an open canopy for more than 30 seconds. Really, who cares? In all the pictures of the 1/48 that members have posted, open canopy poses are pretty scarce which leads me to believe that not many people leave their canopies open either. I also have a clumsy cat who loves to rub his head against things. Last thing I need is him rubbing his head up against an open canopy and breaking it off.
  5. Was that directed to ROD, or Stellvia? I'm assuming ROD else you'd be contradicting yourself. I really like the character interaction in ROD. I suppose for those who are looking for the same fast paced storyline that was found in the OVA it's a little different especially since there's not a single character from the original series of the same name. However, the characters are more complex than you think. Episodes 8 and 10 do a good bit of character emphasis between Junior/Anita Tooru/Hishisihi Anita/Maggie/Michelle and Nenene/Lee. They seem to be going through this system of character episode, then action/story episode, then another character episode, another action/story and repeat. While I was disappointed a bit with episode 7, episode 9 MORE than made up for it. *Spoiler* Welcome back Drake and the English, see Junior's and Sonny Wong's true powers, and see more nudity than I have ever seen in a televised anime in a long time.
  6. Never really interested me. I preferred Scrapped Princess over pretty much everything else, and now after seeing episode 9, Read or Die is really starting to pull me in.
  7. Hah. Those girls look Korean, damn it!
  8. Yeah. It helps give the gerwalk that nice stance where the legs angle outward, but the toy takes a big hit in the stability. Some people say theirs is rock solid in gerwalk, but I think they're all smoking crack.
  9. Okay, here's another question. Why were they fighting in the first place?
  10. Exactly what I'm gonna do. Just bought the valk, when I get it, I'll get the backpack hinge and sell the rest. I just wonder how much I'm gonna get for the pilot alone ?... hehe, maybe it's not such a bad ordeal after all... Guys, can you suggest the best way to sell my new canibalized VF-1a when I get it. Here's what I think I'll do, I'll post an auction on ebay for the following items: -head -legs and swingbar without the intake covers -intake covers -heatshield -pilot -chest -back, arms and wings without the backpack hinge -backpack without the hinge -cockpit and front assembly -nosecone -gunpod -strap and "o" rings -Large missile pods -small missile pods -Unused sticker sheet -Box & instructions I think this should work You could start here of course. Although, too bad it was a low viz that broke on you. Apparently you can sell a 1S head for $50 on ebay
  11. In Abenobashi, they had Sasshi piloting a 1A/X-wing/corefighter thing that does Roy's patented 100-missile launch while barrel rolling. Of course, they also parodied a billion other things in that episode....

ditto. <_< Holy S#IT!@#*!& $52?! *woops, late to the party
  13. ‘Š”nˆ© First two are Souma. Third one is Akane. By the way, your browser needs to be able to handle Japanese.
  14. It doesn't fit as cleanly as the lineart indicates it should, but getting it to do so would probably take a minor miracle. At its most flush point, the visor of the 1S head is still visible.
  15. Straight from their webpage: Please note that these are trading figures and are individually sealed and randomly packed before shipment to HobbyLink Japan. As a result we are unable to honour requests for specific figures, nor can we promise you which figure(s) you will receive in your order. They don't open the box, or else they'd know what was what.

All right, Aegis has got a good point. I give up this senseless arguing. I'll buy whatever toys I want and be on my merry way. Others can think whatever they want.

Heh, if you think about it... Do you think Yamato would rather: A. Sell you the pieces for $40 and let you put it together yourself. -or- B. Pay some Chinese guy five bucks an hour to put it all together and sell it for $100 more.

That's the whole damned problem. If Yamato would put out a TV Max and Milia "J" then I would spend money on those. THEN let Yamato rip the rest of you off with the "S" Hikaru (at least a customized Bandai has a different paint job for crying out loud). As it stands they'll waste money on this stupid ripoff and we'll never see the Valks that most of us really want: M&M, CF, Elint, etc. because they won't make money to spend on "new crap." I have no doubt in my mind that Yamato will release a M&M J. A custom Bandai may have a different paintjob, but that can't help a toy that fundamentally looks like a piece of sh1t. By the way, I think you're a minority in the whole Yamato 1S Hikaru thing. You may not buy it, but there's always 10 more people that will. And just think, there's probably fans lying in wait who didn't pick up the 1A Hikaru just because it wasn't the 1S they were hoping for. I don't know where you people get this idea that Yamato is losing money on their 1/48 line.
  19. Will the fighting ever stop? The heavily anticipated third episode is finally here. Both forces use their new weapons in a fierce battle over an ocean of darkness. Macross Zero, part 3, on sale November 28. ^-- there you go. Official HQA endorsed commercial translation.
  20. Picked up my copy yesterday, and after an hour or two of setup I finally got to run around in the world. Quite nice. I was a little thrown off by the entirely keyboard driven interface. You can use the mouse, but it just slows you down and it's implementation is confusing and poorly done. It's a lot slower paced than I expected it to be. I'll be playing more tonight, but for a first impression, it wasn't bad. I've already been killed twice now, and I'm only on level 3
  21. Now now, that special privilege is reserved especially for Korean dictators. *Me dunt no how fer spell wurds!
  22. Where did the term froating head come from? I believe that explanation can be found in either this forum's Newbie Questions page (in the Macross TV & Movie Series thread) or the old forum's Newbie Questions page.

You can also think about it this way... all the mistakes and different heads and paintschemes was all done to bring you the most perfect 1S DYRL valk, ever.
  24. I love that. Thanks Graham. To have your view is one thing but to instult poeple is another thing. I kind of liked him. He was a fun gauge of the contrasting maturity level between Macross and Robotech fans.

tsk tsk. The Macross toyline is only for those with completist syndrome. My opinion, spend the $120 so Yamato has more money to make new crap
