  1. The 19 HAS to rock. It was the hero's plane in two series. Notice how the 21 and 22 were only given to the supporting characters. Kidding. If you're looking for a logical answer, it won't be from me!
  2. Umm... strike cannons? Wut in the wurld are you talkin aboot?
  3. You are correct. There is one higher rating of NC-17 (Remember Showgirls?) which means basically NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 17! I remember in some interview Tarantino talked about a gang-rape scene which, after seeing the first part, may be in the second part. And a couple lines later, he said, "Get your 13 year old daughters to come see it!" The guy is twisted to be sure.
  4. Specs for the VF-0's micro-missles indicate that they are heat seeking (IR), so presumably the VF-1's micro-missile are heat seeking as well. Graham Depends on the missile..... and source qouted ^^;; Oh yeah, speaking of the VF-Zero's micro missiles - - here's a small tidbit. I drew this side view schematic of the GH-30B. (Scroll down) Note that the entry isn't done yet. http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat...siles/gh30.html Interesting. They seem comparitively long compared to most other micro- missiles. The use of fins on micro-missiles is a first as well. It would be interesting to know the length and diameter of the missiles, but I doubt Kawamori will ever provide that information. Graham Maybe it collapses, the thinner parts into the wider, and the fins slide out like the larger missiles that we commonly see on the VF-1. Then again, there's no REAL purpose for that, except that it might look incredibly cool.
  5. no tleg chest plate thanks ali Funny, but I have a similar problem. (see Ali's pic) Except mine is with my 1/48 VF-1S. Any suggestions for fixes? It is in gerwalk mode in my display case. I've taken it out and securly attached the shoulders. It usually works for about one second before they come lose again! It's driving me nuts! I don't have that problem with ANY of my other 1/48's! Anybody have any suggestions that could help? Thanks, Melissa I had that problem with the 1/48 too for a while. Turned out that bar which stretches between the two intakes wasn't totally clipped into the two plastic clips on the underside of the fuselage.
  6. You can find tons of YF-21 model pics here: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...t=ST&f=3&t=2069
  7. What about "that other 80's mecha" that you almost mentioned a little while back?
  8. Yeah. Nothing so crazy as the thin red line though. And the nightmare levels are harmless. There's no way you can die in them.
  9. I'm pretty sure that the legioss and tread can stay connected in battloid. The tread becomes a big backpack serious So I've heard, but I don't remember ever seeing a picture of such a thing, and when I try to imagine it, it comes out all bizarre looking. The tread would make for one large backpack...
  10. The problem is that the Tread (if it even comes out) only gives it extra size in fighter mode. In battroid mode (I forget what the term was for the legioss... armo diver?) the Legioss is all by its lonesome and is pretty tiny.

i'd buy it, but only if i could drive it to work and live out of it at the same time. Drive?! That baby will FOLD to work!
  12. Is it just me, or has your ability to type gone down a considerable amount in the last week or so? Anyway, if that's the 1/60, then I think they're all like that.
  13. Who knows. Maybe this time the actual product may actually be worth the money we pay for it.

Let me add to that; come 2005 when the product is actually released: Fanboy 1: Sh!t, my flaps fell off. Fanboy 2: Hey, my canopy won't stay up. Fanboy 3: Hey, these farkin' engines don't even turn on! Fanboy 1: WTF this whole thing is made out of plastic! RT guy : Robotech is taking off! Meanwhile, Yamato execs are sitting pretty in retirement sipping cocktails on the beach of some caribbean island.

I think if it were possible, people would rather opt for a 1/1 "Yes? Oh that's fine Yamato, just park it in my backyard."

I think you also don't realize that people actually may want a 15" valkyrie. And don't get me wrong, I know how big 15 inches is. For some odd reason I have a 15" ruler sitting in front of me and it doesn't seem that large at all. My keyboard is longer than that... I remember playing with a GI Joe Conquest X-30 when I was young, and while it may not have been 15" long (I think it was on the larger side, however) I wasn't exactly very big either. I was probably a tiny 6 or 7 year old at that time, and I didn't find it cumbersome to handle. In fact, it was my favorite GI Joe toy ever. If 1/72 and 1/60 was good enough for everyone, then there wouldn't be scales like 1/48 and 1/32. ...However, come to think of it, this arguement is pretty pointless. You're already getting your 1/72 yf-19 so I'm not sure what the big deal is. In fact, when it comes out, if it really has as much detail as you claim it will, then I'll probably pick this up. The reason being, nothing is set in stone for the 1/48 line. There may be rumors but no one really knows if the M+ valkyries are coming out in that scale. It seems that your main worry is that if people hold out for only the 1/48 versions it would serve to detract interest from your 1/60 line and thus may affect Yamato's future plans for that scale. I don't think you have to be bothered by that, because it seems that Yamato is deliberately withholding future information about the 1/48 so that people buy their toys in a smaller scale. This way they can not only guage the interest for a particular design, but they can also force buyers to buy TWO toys, in both scales. Unscrupulous to be sure, but smart business sense on their part.

While I am in no way sure of this, something tells me that a 1/48 VF-1 with fastpacks is taller than a YF-19 battroid.
  19. Hows about Yesasia.com? I ordered a few stuff from them a few years back, but not since they've grown so large.
  20. Yeah, I hadn't even noticed it until you guys mentioned it. I think it'd look kinda goofy in fighter mode, almost like the Valk had a beak or something. The true origin of the Pink Peckers squadron!
  21. Some people are so childish. Stop replying to this thread.
  22. Just to clarify btw, the ve-1 in that image is not a 1/55 bandai. It's a 1/72 hasegawa. I would think that trying to achieve the same effect with your 1/55's would require a bit more work because: 1. wm chengs models look photorealistic to start with 2. the hasegawa has infinite more detail than the bandai 3. wm chengs photo taking skills/choice of lighting is very commendable 4. i don't know... but the difference in the images just merits a 4th.......

Well, I know you and I have already had a number of exchanges over this topic, but in the end it's really the opinion of the consumer. You may have a smaller house and a tinier wallet. Others may have a mansion and sleep on pillows stuffed full of $20's. In the end, even if Yamato comes out with a 1/48 M+ toy, and you don't buy it, Mr. Money-Bags is going to buy enough for both you and him, and your next door neighbors. To make it worse, probably the only thing Yamato will see is a little sheet of paper that says, "Toys R Us Japan purchased 4000 units of 1/48 YF-19." What I really don't understand is why you don't think a 15" YF-19 would make a nice display piece. I somewhat agree that a toy that large would be a little cumbersome to transform and handle, but if it's a display piece then it would just be sitting there looking pretty. If anything, a 1/48 version would be the PERFECT display piece, unless you prefer the 1/100 doyusha version? What really gets me is that even if they end up being the same physical size, the scales are all off. This will be especially evident now, seeing as how Yamato's getting into the habit of including a pilot figure with all it's new releases. Seeing a 1/72, or even 1/60 figure next to a 1/48 is just... wrong... *edit-- damn you Hurin, you edit your post and now the end sounds just like mine!
