Alright. I definitely stand by what I said. Tampo printing is incredible. The magnet recall kind of makes sense. I can see a little kid swallowing them and running into trouble. There was an article on CNN.com about a seven year old girl swallowing two magnets. They ended up clamping together and causing a hole in her intestine. Seven years old, though? Geesh. I can't wait for Hasbro MP Starscream. I do prefer him without the battle damage, but I'm not sure I can justify +$40 for that.

Once again, I will mention the Rogue Squadron books. They contain none of that. Good old X-wing vs. TIE Fighter dogfights.

I suggest some of you try out the Rogue Squadron books. They don't focus on the main characters from the OT. *gasp* Unless you include Wedge in that list. But common... its Wedge.

The only EU books I'm fond of are: Thrawn Trilogy X-Wing Rogue Squadron (all 9) Daala Trilogy (or whatever the hell it is called) and Darksaber The Rogue Squadron books are the best. Who doesn't like dogfighting in space? Oh, and the NJO books are GARBAGE. I refuse to read that trash.

So... how long of a wait are we talking about here? I meant 20-30 years from now.

Well, that eliminates the F8s. I'm not so sure about the F8s' gpu... Asus said GS on their site, and only one reseller and an unpublished ad has said GT. Meh that doesn't matter to me anyway. What I really need is some GOOD benchmarks comparing the GS and the GT in the same machine. I've seen 8600GS vs 8600GT in separate machines, but those results just didn't add up. Oh, and you're looking at notebookreview? Me too. I signed up a few days ago. Awesome site.

Hrrmph. The deciding factors between the V2s/V1s/F8s will be the screen (I'm going for matte), and the video card.

Compal and Asus are ODMs. Sager just slaps their name on the Compal, and Asus makes their own laptops period. (edit: Whoops you already knew that.) Dell, HP, Toshiba, Alienware, Falcon Northwest, etc etc are all wastes of money. Edit again: Does Asus have a page for the new F8s yet? I've seen the V1s and V2s pages.

Which should I go for: Asus V2s/V1s (one or the other) OR the Sager 2090/Compal IFL90 (same laptop)? Both have their pros and cons. The specs would be almost identical - the V2s would have an 8600GS as opposed to a GT. The GS would be DDR3 and the GT would be DDR2, so the difference would be negligible.

I'm not going to buy either VF-0S reissue until people confirm that it has changed for the better.

I'm guessing that either Hasbro is empty, or the distribution centers are all empty. The Wal-Marts here in Fargo AND Minot are empty, as are the Targets.

They probably won't be easy to find. A few years ago they were at MediaPlay and Gamestop, but I haven't seen one in ages. Of course there's always the off chance that a store in the Mall of America will have one.
