Current project. Is a silly and fun Hasegawa 1/35 MechatroWeGo. This was inexpensive and came with two kits and some extras. I think it’s a great opportunity to try some new things. This build is Inspired by a couple videos I saw from Jon Bius and Lincoln Wright. So far I have done some texturing using Tamiya putty and put down a black surfacer 1500. My goal in the end is some major weathering practice. Ideally I want to give this a Maschinen Krieger look.

@Cheese3 Hahaha.

Yeah, that’s a great idea. Funny you say that, I just happen to have a kit on its way that can be my fun/easy going experiment kit. That sounds like the perfect opportunity to test out some weathering. I have also been meaning to do some brush painting with acrylics. I’ve been so focused on spraying lacquers. Time to expand my tool kit. 🤔

Awesome suggestion. Appreciate it.

Almost done with this little buddy. needs some dialing in. I want to try out weathering but I’m scared.

Hahahaha. True true

Totally. That’s why the text should be upside down when held but instead the images show it right side up. Lol

Nice crew right there. Love the Gerwalks!

Yeah and the built sample on the box reflect the decals that way too. Lol

Oopsie is right. Hahaha Here are a few examples of right side up U.N. Spacy is n Hasegawa kits in my stash. I guess it doesn’t matter at all just not sure what to make of it.

One sort of off topic question. Why do Hasegawa kits show the U.N.Spacy right side up on the gun pod when in battroid form? 🤔

@MechTech RIP shadow. We love our furry friends over at my home too and losing such a great buddy can be so devastating. Sorry for your loss. ♥️

I have been wanting to build this kit for a while now and finally jumped in today. Test fit is almost done and there are few seam lines to deal with which is making this come together quick. I’m a little concerned about this one being able to stand on its own. Might have to glue it into a static position once I’m done with it.

@Chashahahaha. Yeah it needs a top hat at the very least. I like the idea of tracing out the decals for masking. I just recently got that kit for a decent price and will be ditching the color correcting decals and masking out for the red areas. The first battroid I built was a Hasegawa and I used all the decals for color correcting to see how it would look. It looked sloppy. lol.

Just finished up this fancy lad last night. It’s the first of the VSMS series, 1:100 Daccas The Black Knight. It was a super fun build for me and had a blast trying out some new paints.

Such a great use of materials. 👍

@Big s you’re onto something about Alclad under other colors. I put a clear purple over some Alclad Chrome and it has a really nice effect. Thanks for the heads up.

whoops. Off topic.

Wow! Love it. -
Yeah I had no clue. This is a surprise to me since they are labeled lacquer. Anyway, hope it works out.
