That’s a great idea. It has the laser and small exhaust pipe I could work with, but this make is thruster free. Simple bipedal slab of metal. Clunk clank bang. Hahaha

Thanks for sharing. What a cool build. 👍

I hit it with a light gray/yellow ochre. It really gave some decent definition in what’s a very dark paint scheme. I need to keep practicing. Less is more. really appreciate the suggestion. ✌️

Totally. I think the texture at this scale is not working. Overkill. I like the idea of adding some highlights. It’s so murky, the colors are all the same value at this point. It needs something to pop.

Baby steps in hand painting. I had a lot of fun with this tiny bugger, but went a little off the rails from what I had envisioned. I don’t think I like the end result very much yet I had a great time along the way. tried to get a better pic with a paper background. Lol

Oh yeah!

Got a couple kits in the mix right now. Both are MA.K. The Grober Hund in previous post is ready for some seam removal and I also have a tiny 1:35 scale Wald Geist. So far I’ve added texture with some surfacer 500 and hit it with some black primer as a base color. Going to do all hand painting on this one and see what I can do. It’s actually really nice to have a couple projects going in tandem.

So exciting. Best of luck.

I’m going to do a straight build of the kit when it gets here but the idea of scratch building one sounds like fun. Or maybe having a 3d print made. -

Totally agree. I appears the OG kit is there just as comparison reference. -

Wow! That’s really nice. I just ordered Arii kit the other day. I will be coming back to these images for inspiration. -
When you do get to it be ready for every piece having a seam right down the center. Besides that it’s a very straightforward build so far. I haven’t painted any form of camouflage yet and look forward to it. I may also try out that salt technique for chipping. I also haven’t sprayed acrylic before so that will be fun too.

That looks great! I decided to try my hand at a Grober Hund. I want to see what all the fuss is about. Haha

https://hjweb.jp/article/1997102/ Some new Sirene pics/info love the rough surface texture they added.

Thanks. I’m not going super dirty like those old box art pics but it needs a little something something.
-
I don’t think I need a third version, but that box art is sooooo good!

Such a fun one. Felt like building an action figure more than a model kit. Next step is to weather it up. It will help me hide some areas that came out rough. Hahahaha.

@MechTech This is amazing! Sooooo cool. What a great dedication for Shadow.

Didn’t see this posted. Coming this august! Very happy to finally get an opportunity to grab one of these. https://www.hlj.com/1-72-scale-plamax-px09-vf-1d-battroid-valkyrie-super-dimension-fortress-macross-rerelease-max01469

Wow! That is a thing of beauty. -
Amazing!

Having fun with this Plamax kit. There are some really slick assemblies eliminating lots of seams. Masking time in an effort to avoid some color correcting decals.

@SteveTheFishLooking good. Decals are my nightmare lately.
