Thanks so much. There are plenty of small mold lines that I had overlooked somehow and the gloss makes them more evident. Luckily they are in rather inconspicuous areas. š

The articulation is good. Knees are double jointed, hips are ball joints, arms and shoulders have plenty of rotation as well as forward back/up and down motion. Feet and ankles are ball joints, skirt armor all move independently except for large rear section. Head is almost complexly static, and waist rotation swivels left to right. Claws on rear of forearms open close and fold to allow for more freedom of movement. This kit has way more articulation than I had expected. Hope that helps?

A quick update on KOG aka āmy little buddyā before I hit the hay š¤ I might do one last gloss coat on it after finishing tonightās final brush painting. I have never been so nervous to paint tiny, tiny details. I didnāt use any of the color correcting decals. I wanted to paint the few color details including this tiny white outline on shoulder āeyeā designs. I was stressing but got it done. Not too shabby. My thoughts and feels on this new Volks 1:144 scale KOG Delta Beren is outstanding! It was a treat from Start to finish and canāt wait to do the larger 1:100 scale once I find that Gaia paint. Hereās a few photos taken at the bench. Iāll grab better pics tomorrow with some natural light hoping the gold has more sizzle if thatās a thing. Lol

Thatās super generous of you. I will keep that in mind if this doesnāt shake out locally. Also, congrats on the new kit. Iām not familiar with that one, will make sure and look it up. š

Starting to look like a Motar Head. Now Iām waiting for paint to dry and I need to fiddle more with that scratch build face armor. I havenāt totally committed to it yet. I did reach out to Volks and I might be able to buy a replacement sprue. Just waiting to hear back, but I feel like I could just skip it if the one I made is good enough. I hand painted the red in Vallejo acrylics. I want to put down another gloss coat over it, but read that I should give it 24 hours before I mess with it. Once thatās done I need to do one more layer of brush painting. I guess itās more like a white enamel panel line outline on the red eye shapes on shoulder armor.

Oh, I like this take! -
Awesome! Excited to see. 1/144 KOG is coming along. Got the base colors gold and brass/copper down after masking. Lots of these smaller panel details in Nagano designs are rather hidden but Iām a sucker to paint those areas as well. Lots of those elements are areas under skirt armor and small panels sandwiched between other parts. Iām really digging the nice contrast in metallic colors and also appreciate the lighter value of gold for the cockpit that is silver base coat with a 70-30 split of transparent yellow and orange. Gives me ideas on how to make my own gold colors using transparency and silver base coats.

Wow. Love the mask!

Hahahaha. I see what you did there. Lol Arcee is looking great! Is the Starscream from the same producer? Iām very excited to see more. š

I have notifications on from many retail sites for any restocks so one day I might get to try it out. I have the larger 1/100 KOG with buster in my stash. IāM saving that big boy for the Gaia. š¤©

Thanks. I never found it. I assume my dog must have ate it. Otherwise it would be around the general bench area which I tore apart looking. I also reached out to Volks US site to request a replacement sprue. I guess you can sometimes purchase them if they have them. We will see if they can help me out. Otherwise the small piece I built will suite the purpose fine. Until then I will work on getting the gold down and small hand painted details here and there. The color callout for the gold is a Gaia star bright gold which is as rare as a unicorn so I went with this MR Color Rough Gold. It has an interesting texture and sparkle to it, but I think it looks nice. Itās difficult to photograph but hereās a look before I put a gloss over it.

Iām Ready! Sheās beautiful. ā„ļø

Was able to knockout the copper on the frame and underside of armor pieces today on the Volks 1:144 KOG. I used MR Color Super Copper over a black primer, Iām digging it. Next I need to mask that off and move on to gold. Iām excited for this little KOG. Going to be shiny. Too bad I am already seeing a little dust here and there, but most of this is not very visible when itās completed. I think I need to clean my spray booth well before I do the outside armor pieces and make sure my dog isnāt at my feet shaking off that summer coat.

@tekering Thanks so much! When moments present themselves to me like in this case where my own negligence ālosing a partā offers me an opportunity to learn how to make something I canāt say itās all that bad in the end. Lol. Iām blown away! Beautiful work and such a beefy build at that. I think you mentioned being super busy in preparation for a macross event. 40th anniversary if I remember correctly? I imagine the SDF-1 will be on display? Maybe I donāt know what Iām talking about. Hahahaha Anyway, If you have time please share more when the event happens and I also love seeing all the progress you make along the way. Oh and Iām digging your tackle box(s) of figure parts. Thatās amazing! Edit* I guess itās the 43rd anniversary of Macross

It makes eBay pricing seem more reasonable.

I hear ya.

Did a quick check to have my private warehouse shipped and it was going to cost $300+ yikes. I guess my stash lives in the warehouse indefinitely

Love to see it!
