Just got an e-mail from Popbox today and there are pictures of Hikaru's box and of the figure itself (unfortunately the closeup pictures won't open up through the hyperlinks in the e-mail, though).

This is aweome news! Hopefully the VF-11 and YF-21 get the same treatment. The VF-11 really needs a bigger better toy so Yamato can get the tail fins done right.

I did see two F-104's perform at the 1999 Offutt air show. Very good thrust-to-weight ratio for an aircraft of that era (the F-104 held numerous time-to-climb and altitude records), but with those stuby little wings, not too agile.

What 2 Do W/dead Xbox Any Place Buys The Cores?
Apollo Leader replied to Dax415's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Nope, my 360 has worked just fine since I got it November last year. I have probably used this sytem more at this point in its life time then any other new system I have had for the same amount of time. So far, so good. But yeah, sounds like both Xbox's use the same mechanism to warn of console death. -

Do you have the original Xbox or the 360? So the original Xbox uses the "red ring of death", too? -
But a million dollars doesn't have the worth that it did when Christopher Reeves first played Superman. I say Pepsi should make the main prize for... One Hundred BILLION Dollars!!!

The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread
Apollo Leader replied to areaseven's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
RIP John "Earthquake" Tenta At least it was from natural causes unlike certain other wrestlers who check out in their late 30's/early 40's... -
Lex Luthor on the PS3.

Some personal 360 updates for me! Last night, I set my new personal best at Geometry Wars Retro Evolved (the Evolved game) to just over 1.8 million. In the same game, I earned my achievement point for breaking 1 million without losing a life and getting the 10x multiplyer... just need to get the Quartermaster achievement and try breaking 2 million next. Also, I also beat COD2 on the Veteran difficulty a few nights earlier, so finally I'm starting to get some more serious achievement points. looks like I'll be cutting my teeth next on DOA4!

Sorry for the late reply. On the Net, I usually use gamespot.com and 1up.com for my game news and info. Magazine wise, the only magazine I am currently subscribed to is EGM.

Nintendo Amusement Park Looks like this is something being created with the next E3 in mind. What's odd is that it's being devolped by some guys in New York and being intended for the 2007 E3 show here in the US, but the narrator is a Japanese speaking woman... perhaps they have to present this proposal to NOJ instead of NOA? So who would want to give this a spin?

Fanchildren, Cease Thy Whining
Apollo Leader replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
What's the difference between just plain widescreen and anamorphic widescreen? Does anamorphic mean that it will automatically reconfigure itself for a widescreen TV? I was looking at starwars.com and there is indeed a separate widescreen and fullscreen disc set. For now my TV is a 25 inch Samsung I got back in 1997. I'll probably have it a few more years, but the next TV I get will probably be HD and widescreen. So if I play a non-anamorphic widescreen DVD on a widescreen television, it won't properly fill it out? -

I'm confused now... are they letterboxed for a regular TV but wouldn't adjust itself for a widescreen TV or is it going to a apear as fullscreen on a regular TV and use pan and scan??? -

This is a legitimate gripe, even if you're not a Star Wars fan. -

http://www.imdb.com/news/sb/2006-05-25/ 402257[/snapback] George Lucas, here's one person that won't be buying these DVD's in September. I knew ever since the original announcement that the footage was basically going to be what was used for the 1995 Laserdisc and VHS release which was cool with me. But making it fullscreen only??? What kind of morons are at Lucasfilm? The huge majority of people wanting theses movies would want this in widescreen. Guess I'll stick with my 1995 Laserdiscs... -
Last night I managed to break 1 million on Geometry Wars Retro Evolved (the Evolved game) TWICE! The second time I managed to break 500,000 with out losing a life. Right now I just need to to get three more achievements: collect 9 bombs, get the 10X Multiplier, and break 1 million without losing a life. It'll be tough, but with my skills at this game going up these last few weeks, I think it may be possible. Breaking the current record high of 81,000,000... I think I'll pass.

Does anyone remember the "Divx" DVD's and DVD systems back around 1999 or so (I believe it was exclusive through Circuit City)? It followed basically this same model (if Sony does this with the PS3). When you bought the disc, in a way you weren't buying the disc, just the rights to play it. Divx died off pretty quickly...

Thought this rumor was put to rest, but... Sony to prevent resell of PS3 games. So basically, once you've bought a PS3 game, you're stuck with it. I can understand why Sony might want to create a business model that would encourage sales of new, unopened games instead of used ones which result in no additional sales and revenue for Sony, but if a player is stuck with a game "forever", aren't people going to be much more picky on what they buy resulting in even less sales of new games? What about people being able to rent games from like Blockbuster or Hollywood Video? If this is true, Sony has just shot itself in the foot again.

That is just so weird seeing Rockstar make such a benign game like this... I wonder if you can do some carjacking or shoot prostitutes in this game? Seriously, it looks fun; might have to rent it or download the demo if it is available on XBL.

So what does it say when you called the number? Having "JACK IS DEAD" backwards and Behrooze's girlfriend's phone number on the back of this picture of Edward and Chloe together... I wonder if these are Easter Eggs or if one of the producers had scribbled this stuff on this picture a long time ago and when they decided to use this picture as a prop, it wasn't realized that some of this info was on there? EDIT(I just read UN SPACY's post above your's so that answers some of my question, though I wonder if there's a reason they showed it or if I'm reading to much into it? ) I would have to say that this was the best season since Season 2 (still the best one IMHO). So will Jack escape the Chi Coms or will he become brainwashed and sent back to the US as a mole? Is president Logan done for? Will we see Behrooze and the rest of Marwan's men resurface? Guess we'll have to wait 8 months to find out!

Last night, I came within 32,000 of breaking 1,000,000 on Geometry Wars Retro Evolved (the Evolved games, not the original Retro game)! Right now that puts me in about 9,000 place (otherwise, about 9,000 players have scored higher then me). There are claims over at the xbox.com forums that the top player at this has scored over 80,000,000! Also, I'm now on the Hill 400 campaign (on Veteran) so hopefully I will have Call of Duty 2 completely beaten in the next week or so. Love the new maps that came out a few weeks ago and can't wait to so the next 5 maps that are suppose to be out in July. Trying to decide which of my other 360 games to seriously tackle next. Since I've had DOA4 since the beginning of the year and since I need a break from FPS's (though I love the genre), I think DOA4 it is. Also got to get on to GRAW and Blazing Angels.

For those who are wanting to pick up Volume 3 at their local Best Buy, even if the disc isn't listed as being in stock at your local store as posted by Best Buy's website, give them a call or stop in anyway. None of the local Omaha area Best Buys had it listed in stock this past week or so since it officially came out. When I stopped in at one of them last night, I found one copy... typically when a Best Buy's stock of something is at a quantity of one, the Best Buy website will have that store listed as unavailable. So I'm guessing that a lot of Best Buys are only ordering 1 or 2 discs of each of the Macross volumes?

I've had it for a few weeks, but I haven't had the chance to play it yet. I know one of the biggest criticisms was the no so great voice acting (compared to Call of Duty 2 which does a pretty good job), but its graphics are great and it's suppose to be fun to play online.

I should have revived this thread last week with the E3 going on, but better late then never. What did everyone think of all the news and announcements last week? Did anyone download any of the trailers and demos that went up on Marketplace last week? Lots of good stuff coming out this and next year. Besides enjoying the new maps for Call of Duty 2 these days (getting closer to beating the game on Veteran, too - D Day was murder!), I've been playing a lot of Geometry Wars Retro Evolved these last few weeks. I can see why there has been a lot of hype behind this old school shooter. It's very addictive! It plays great, has a good soundtrack, and the game is different every time you play it. As of last night my top score is now over 600,000... there's about 10,000 other players who are ranked higher then me at the moment, but I think that will continue to change. Right now I got Mike (Pharohman - when are we ever going to play something together, Mike? ) and Oihan (Ashmedai - played some Halo 2 with him back last December) in my friends list. Who else would be interested in me adding them to my friends list or vice versa?

I missed the first 10 minutes, so what happened to Miles after it was discovered that he erased the recording? I would have thought the recorder would been kept better secured and protected because of its importance? But then again, we are talking about CTU! And is it me, but does it seem like Los Angeles is the center of the universe (at least according to 24)?
