  1. In non RROD news... COD4 most played 360 game on XBL this past week beating out Halo 3. If I'm right this is the first time Halo 3 slipped from the #1 spot since its launch in September. So far my play of COD4 online has been limited to beating it on Hardened and playing a handful of XBL games, but I would have to say that it is definitely a game worthy of being the most played game out there. COD2 was by far my most played game during the first year I owned my 360. Since I'm like 5 games away from getting my Colonel promotion on Halo 3 and since it is real hard to say when I'll earn my last achievement (Overkill), as soon as I get my promotion I might be taking a break from Halo3 to get back to some COD4 action.
  2. Reading over that British Airways 777 story some more, if it was a case of the plane being out of fuel how did the all his electronics go kaput? If there was some fuel left, maybe there was no fire since the engines were dead and if there was no electrical output. Looking at the map and just how crowded and congested things are around that airport (including a busy road at the end of the runway), it was a complete and total miracle that this 777 landed where it did and that nobody got killed. Maybe David or someone elese can answer this, but does the 777 have both electrical and hydralic controls? It it were electrical only and all their systems went out I would have thought they would have been toast.
  3. Are they going to ever come out with the Super/Strike gear for the Wave 1 and 2 VF-1's?
  4. BTW, I've noticed that this topic has been viewed over a 100,000 times! Is that a first here on Macross World or have any other threads been viewed more then that?
  5. The original ATF production run was suppose to be 750, so hey why not. In light of the huge cuts both the F-22 and B-2 took to their original intended production runs, in the F-117's case it was suppose to have been a fleet of about 20 aircraft. They ended up making 59 of them! (59 production along with 5 prototype/preproduction aircraft)
  6. For all the things that we either know or speculate about the F-23 being superior to the F-22 (top speed/cruise, stealth, etc.), I wonder if the F-23 would have been capable of performing the same kind of aerobatics the F-22 is?
  7. Hopefully the grounding of virtually the whole F-15 fleet will be the wake up call to go with a much bigger F-22 fleet.
  8. But will this change your highest skill level in each catagory (ie. Lone Wolves or Team Slayer) and/or your rank (ie. Colonel)? I don't want to rebuild my Lone Wolves ranking back up to 40 again!
  9. In my case there's three games I've gotten all 1000 points: COD2, Blazing Angels, and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. Maybe one day I'll complete Gears of War, but after all the hours of play I put into that game and I only have about half of the required kills for "Seriously...", I'm not in a rush.
  10. So changing the language on one's machine changes your skill level? Hmmm... I think I'll eventually get the Overkill because I did get it in a Rumble Pit game just about a week ago. Like the Steppin' Razor, it's just a matter of time. Funny thing is last night is that I saw someone with the sword on their back, but they apparently hadn't beat Legendary yet. I thought you had to get ALL the achievements to get the sword?
  11. Time to resurrect this thread. With some help from my brother we beat the Halo stage on Legendary so I finally got that achievement. A few nights earlier I played through the Cortana (High Charity) stage completely by myself so at least I know I'm capable of playing through the Legendary stages going solo, but still it can be time consuming. After watching the ending, it will be interesting to see what's next in store for MC and Cortana. As a second bonus last night I also got the Trippin' Razor achievement, too, meaning I just need to get the Overkill achievement to completely finish Halo 3. Then I can say I truly "finished the fight".
  12. In lighter news... Remake of NES Bionic Commando comming to XBLA and PSN this spring. Besides the recent rumblings about Goldeneye and other Rare classics hitting XBLA, the possibility of Duke Nukem htting XBLA has also surfaced.
  13. I do hope that Goldeneye XBLA does see the light of day, but I would also really like to see Perfect Dark on XBLA, too. Never had the chance to fully play then just the first few stages. Some other titles from Rare like the original arcade Killer Instinct and the arcade Battletoads would also be nice.
  14. The bullets went through the couch or recliner that Sarah was hiding behing, but yeah I couldn't but help think that wouldn't those bullets have hit her? As for the "Terminator of the week" potential, I was reading an article last night over at Entertainment Weekly's site and in the article one of the producers said that they were wanting to avoid that. All in all, I enjoyed it and will most definitely be watching the rest of the series. Too bad 24 wasn't on along with this.
  15. BTW, has anyone seen the recent stories about N64 Goldeneye on XBLA? Apparently Rare has it virtually complete along with online play (sweet!), but the hangup right now preventing it from getting released is because of Microsoft and Nintendo not being able to reach an agreement on it. Hopefully something can be reached so this classic can show up on BOTH XBLA and the Wii's Virtual Console.
  16. They should pull the plug on this exercise in Hollywood's anti-American political correctness already...
  17. When I was playing Halo 2 a lot on XBL back during 2006, my highest skill level I ever got was in the low 20's. Showing how much better I am these days, I got my skill all the way up to 40 a few weeks ago while playing Lone Wolves. For the most part I've been around 37 since. I did drop down to 34 briefly last night, but a few great games quickly got me back to 36. Fingers crossed I'll reach 45 or 50 someday!
  18. Because of all the hype on here about Mass Effect I almost got it last week, but I went with the Orange Box instead. Maybe I'll get Mass Effect when it dips below $50.
  19. I have the PS2 Metal Slug Anthology already, but I will definitely be downloading this!
  20. Ha! Thanks alot! I was playing with Godzilla/Tsoumeister and a friend of his late this evening and things have greatly improved for me. Am able to get back on Marketplace, too, so hopefully things are on the upswing now.
  21. Just when I thought I was done collecting VF-1's! And once again I need to stick my head in this part of the forum more often!
  22. Ken's looking a little creepy! So far the videoes I've seen look a little choppy (probably due to all the traffic downloading them off of Game Videoes), but the action looks exciting. Still odd Capcom is calling it "IV" when it's set between II and III.
  23. They've been mounting AMRAAM's on the F-16's wing tip rails for years. The AMRAAM is small enough and light enough for them to do it unlike the Sparrow.
  24. Good, I'm not the only one with issues! Last night I went on to play and it was bizarre that I was connected to XBL and at the bottom of the screen it will would tell me X number of friends are on, but it would tell be to connect to XBL in the main blade and I can't get to Marketplace either. Still having these problems this afternoon. In the meantime, I spent last night and this afternoon finishing up XBLA Doom on Ultra-Violence difficulty so I think this is like the 3rd XBLA game that I've gotten all 200 points on (prviously Geometry Wars and Golden Axe were the only 2 I fully beat). In Halo 3 news, I just have three achievements left to go - beating it on Legendary, Steppin' Razor, and Overkill (succesfully did that in a Social game just a few nights ago). I hope to beat Legendary with a friend over the upcoming days or weeks. Also got the Orange Box (again, I am keeping it this time!), so I can't wait to sink my teeth into that. Still need to finish up COD4 on Veteran.
  25. I can't remember the first time I stumbled upon this site. It was either in late 1999 or early 2000. I had already been frequenting the Valkyrie Exchange website and was already swapping e-mails and buying stuff from Kevin. I think he one time around then posted a link or two to here because either Graham or Shawn had posted some prototype pics of the Yamato/Toycom YF-19. As 2000 progressed, I came here to MW more and more delving into all the stuff that Shawn had posted on here and was just entralled. Sometime during either the spring or summer I finally e-mailed Shawn and had quite a few conversations with him. After having been on AFM for just a week or two and maybe posting a few things to the old MW message board, Shawn launched the full blown forum as it exists today in early December 2000. I was like the #6 person to sign on. Hard to believe it's been 7 years already since all this fun and excitement started. Hard to believe for me that I've been using my Apollo Leader alias for that long, too. Pretty much use that name for pretty much all my online activies (ie. other message boards/forums, Xbox Live, etc.). The 10 year anniversary will be here faster then we'll think. Though I don't post nearly as often as I did in those early days or hang out in as many sections of this forum as much as I use to, I am on here about every single day and usually several times a day. Besides our Macross fandom, it helps that a lot of us have other similar interests and tastes (ie. video games, aviation, other movie and animation genres). Guess we'll see what happens as the 10 year anniversary rolls around. Maybe this whole legal mess with Big West/Tatsunoko/Harmony Gold will finally be settled....okay, I'm not holding my breath on that one.
