  1. I think the MOAB was also a 30,000 pound weapon though of course it was designed for a large surface blast and not to penetrate deep within the ground. Compared to other similar sized conventional bombs of the past, I wonder how this compares in regards to the ratio of explosives and weight of the steel case? Of course since this new bomb is precision guided, just imagine the havok you can do with this.... drop one, creat a deep massive crater, then drop another one through the hole. Since the B-2 previously had an official max load of 40,000 pounds and two of these bombs weigh 60,000, I wonder what modifications had to be done or if the B-2 was structurally capable of a bigger load then previously revealed?
  2. Holy smokes! I sure missed that bit of news! I might have to add that to my collection.
  3. Updated! Anyone else who wanta to be on the list just let me know.
  4. Regarding the door for the lift fan on the F-35B, maybe they went to a single piece for RCS purposes? It also may have been done for manufacturing purposes (less parts, less expensive, etc.).
  5. If it wasn't for the issues with the Stratocaster (namely the strummer going bad), I not only like the look but the feeling and handling of it. Speaking of which, two weeks ago I had the shipping box sent off to me. A week ago I got it and sent my 360 Stratocaster off. Come this Monday, I get another box... there's no return slip and the box inside is for the PS3 version, no instructions or anything! Also the slip I got seemed to indicate that I should have had the actual guitar inside! Anyway, I got hold of EA and I should hopefully have it by next week at the latest. Now I got to decide what free game to get...
  6. Father sells son's Guitar Hero III for $9,000 after catching son smoking pot.
  7. It's simple, there were more targets for us to destroy! It also helped to attack the enemies as a group and/or from mulitple sides. Also helps when you got an experienced bunch of players (my top skill rank in Lone Wolves right now is 40). BTW, who's up for some Legendary play? I was hoping to play with Chowser/Sarge051 the last 2 nights, but I haven't seen him on. Godzilla/Tsoumeister has been busy with COD4 lately. After I get the Legendary achievement I just have three to go!
  8. Will be on tonight around 10:00 central for those wanting to play on Legendary.
  9. Now that would have been cool if a photo or film existed of that stunt.
  10. That's nothing compared to what this guy did with the B-52 (of course before it got him and three other officers killed): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJb08ZzejAA...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sjFIB1L3BPU In the case of the photo op at that bombing range he comes within about 30 feet of hitting the ridge where the photographers were... allegedly on one pass he came within THREE Feet of hitting the ground.
  11. I had been wondering how some people were getting a sword accessory! I had been going all Hyabusa armor, but last night I decided to swap the helmet out for the scout helmet and I think that makes it look cooler. I might beat the last two metagames tonight, but if I'm playing around 10:00 central and see you I can either host or play on your game. I already have the 1st level beat on Legendary but i have no issues playing it again.
  12. How about we aim for sometime next week like Tuesday night after 9:00 central? I'm going to be busy this weekend and it might be hit or miss when I'm playing. Having a team of three will definitely make it easier. BTW, Chowser, do you have all skulls or viewed all the terminals?
  13. At the beginning of the Blendtec Guitar Hero III video, I could have sworn I saw a Halo 3 disc being blended. I guess I was right. In my own Halo 3 news, me and a friend beat the game on Heroic last weekend, got all the skulls, and viewed all the terminals. Right now we're separately working on the metagames. Probably work on Legendary in the next few weeks. Matchmaking wise, I got my skill level on Lone Wolves up to 35 and I'm still just at the lowest level captain rating... virtually everyone I'm playing against now are majors, commanders, or higher.
  14. I remember reading a long time ago about Rob being a Christian though I didn't know to what extent or if he was a Catholic or Protestant, etc. Though I've been out of buying comics for some time, it will be interesting to see where Rob's take on the Old Testament goes. As for the idea of Noah's Ark being a starship instead of a boat, I have heard that theory before.
  15. Hey, something that isn't Mass Effect related! I think the big fall update is suppose to be out Wednesday morning. In 360 developments for me, this weekend me and one of my friends beat Halo 3 on Heroic and we got all 13 skulls and viewed all the terminals. Last night I was playing Lone Wolves on matchmaking and drove my ranking up from 21 to 30 in less then 2 hours of play. Besides playing GHIII and Rock Band on the side, I will probably be focusing on beating COD4 on Hardened this week and start playing through on Veteran.
  16. It's been a blast with 4 people and I plan on using it with some friends tonight. Though there are a lot of songs and features I like on GHIII, the over all presentation, gloss, features, balance of the gameplay and songs, and of course the 4 player capability definitely has me favoring Rock Band over GHIII. This is definitely the true Guitar Hero successor.
  17. Some of the problems you are having is probably because the strummer is starting to go bad on you. I got to the end of guitar solo career on easy last night and the songs got harder to play because of the strummer. When I started playing songs on medium, the game became almost impossible to play because even though I was playing the game PERFECTLY, it wasn't registering my hits or the timing was off. I switched to one of my Gibson Xplorers from GHII and the game was playing perfectly again. Looks like I'll be having to get a new Fender soon! Even though a lot of the guitars seem to have this flaw, I otherwise like this guitar a lot. The frets are conformal making it easier to slide your hand along, the stummer switch is a lot bigger and you have a much reduced chance of slipping, when the strummer is working it's more forgiving then the Guitar Hero Gibson's switch where you accidentally cause it to strum an extra time by accident, because the strummer doesn't have a hard click you can easily strum while raising the guitar without worrying about screwing things up when going into Overdrive/Star Power, and this Fender guitar looks and feels a lot more realistic then the plastic toy guitars of GHI and II. Can't wait to have my new one!
  18. I'm trying to understand what the big deal is here. There have been plenty of aircraft that have launched bombs and missiles in the Mach 2 and 3 range before (AIM-47 on the YF-12 for example). Or is it the significance of dropping PRECISION guided munitions up in that speed range? I guess that probably ties in with the development of possible Mach 3+ capable precision strike aircraft.
  19. Since we're talking about pricing, who here has seen what the US release of MS Igloo is costing? A lot of the online stores carrying it are going for $45 to $50! That means to own each of the two individual MS Igloo discs, it will likely cost $100+ for TWO DVD's! I might as well buy the Region 2 release! If Bandai Visual USA/Honneamise releases the original Mobile Suit Gundam TV series, it would probably cost $500 or more!
  20. Since we're talking about the Blackbird family, here's an account of what happened when an A-12 pilot deployed his landing gear at MACH THREE: http://roadrunnersinternationale.com/video...h3geardown.html For those who follow the Roadrunners site, A-12 Article 128 did finally make its way out to Virginia in time for the Oxcart memorial dedication in September. It was down in Bellevue, NE during the spring and I guess part of the summer. I was able to get a whole slew of pictures of it when it first arrived here from Minneapolis.
  21. FYI, some NSFW material in this one, but once again pretty funny stuff.
