Are they all literally only bent to the right? My conspiracy brain is starting to think whole batches of these were rolled off the mold or through some other proceedure already crooked, and then assembled as is. Everyone down the assembly line somehow weren't paid enough to care, or collectively were covering up for some mistake. Or it was perfectly fine until the last person in line happened to be the legendary disgruntled employee out for some deliberate sabotaging... Bandai probably found out somewhere along the way, but couldn't be arsed to pay for more man hours to unpack everything and QC all over again, as well as divert components for repairs. So now they are having customers QC their own units, while shirking off some of the blame on shipping. With this scheme, they can also run a replacement parts production batch, only after they've fulfilled deliveries of complete units. 🤡

Seems like it's schrodinger's right and wrong. It's transparent with a recessed red part, so all versions are kind of right and kind of wrong at the same time lol. Looks like Yotsuba Toy Club just said "F DA BRACE" and pretended it doesn't exist lol. Doing that seems to come with the added bonus of dropping the giant collar plate out of sight. That's how we've been seeing different "adjustable" heights of the backpack. Kind of appalling why Bandai couldn't have snuck in a fold out brace from between the engines in place of the dedicated battroid brace peg slot though. That space should be hollow towards the tail half, and able to fit a girthy support bar. It could probably have even served double duty as the lock pin if it folded up toward the front too... But since the pin isn't exactly necessary either, I guess the whole thing could still be considered perfect transformation. That is, ignoring the FP gunpods.... 😭

With belly fast pack plates on, if you had the real gun pods, the landing gears won't reach the floor by just a couple hairs or so. As for why it's designed like that after going so far with fudging all the proportions and mechanisms, it's probably same reason that the pin and battroid adapter exists... It also seems they designed it so the real gun pods can't be used with the FP, so that you can't make the grave mistake of forgoing displaying it on wheels, just to keep all the perfect transformation parts together. Also, you can't exactly perfect transform anyway, because once again, we look to the pin and adapter...

I'm sure Bandai planned it around the warped wings if those are so easily detachable, but that doeesn't exactly mean they plan to release it lol. It could be one of many things that they design and decide to release or shelve on a coin flip lol. That hypothetical accessory set mainly made of the missing stuff from the 19's complete set continues to grow bigger. Next thing you know, there are even extra antennas and lock pins in there...

This is rapidly becoming a meticulously designed nightmare scenario...

Think you got mixed up about what I said. I was refering to the YF-30 Chronos, since it has a very similar transformation, and has an Alto style black and red on white scheme lol. The CF VF-31A are Kairos. Seigfried in Kairos colors does look awsome though. Interested to see what you might cook up if you do end up making custom models for these.

WTF DID I JUST SEE... Everthing seems like a hackjob fix to work around a preceeding odd design choice that was required by another strange design choice before it. Here's how I think it went down: For starters, we are all forgetting the high maneuver (HM) mode takes 3 large partsforming chunks to create. The side covers for it are a necessity because for w/e reason, the half of the belly plates stuck to the backpack and collapse to take up room instead of being removed with the rest of the belly plate, making the HM plate sit very far, causing a gap. The HM plate exists to cover the backpack latches instead of literally being a molded detail around those latches because of the sheer number and size of mechanisms invovled. The need for all those mechanisms is because backpack proportions make it unable to support its weight. Backpack is so heavy because of carrying those half belly plates, extra length for the swivel feet stubs, and having the extra depth required to house the legs that aren't turned inwards to lay on their thinner side, because who knows why. Backpack seems to hang far in order for latches to sit behind crotch block. Crotch block is a certain length accomodate swing bar spacing while needing to be strong enough to be a detachable part. It's detachable in order to share a connection socket with the HM plate. Because of the length of the crotch block, the collar plate is now just as long as to push the latches and hinges out of the crotch block's way. That forces the backpack to hang far. Since backpack hangs far, we now have a detachable brace to hold it up. With the amount of mechanisms they've already resorted to, why the backpack brace isn't made of integrated swing out parts like the revival frontier valks is a mystery... Bonus: For w/e reason, the locking pin is not captive. I'm not sure if pages were just missed or im blind, but I don't think it mentioned landing gears either. Absolutely design choices are mind blowing... to the point of being kind of amusing. I think the designers might be sociopaths lol.

It looks so much more like the Chronos now lol I assume the other heads will crop up eventually too IDK anything about that game, but I'm guessing they split the mission packs so they could swap to sound booster or radome. I wish the double triangular beam cannons from the master file was more canon, and had a 3D model you could use. There's the 3D print model, but I doubt that is useful with all the support structures for 3D printing integrated in it. It's also probably proportionally all wrong for use with the model you have anyway lol. If you want another color scheme suggestion, I'd say Isamu is a brain dead choice lol

Reissue isn't a full set. There is no fold drive in it. Lolicon was being sarcastic with the price and all. From what I could see in photos, the full set had a random cutout section between the edge hinges, which probably let it flex and eject. YF Reissue has no cutout just like the VF. I don't think there was ever any pins. It's all just a peg captured in a small hole, or something like that, unless I'm misrembering and it was only the orange flap that popped out for me.

Looking at the gunpods again, I don't think anyone would bat an eye if they were only as tall as the hollow dummies... Tapered pegs vs straight pegs almost guarantee non interchangeability 😭 Gonna hope some third party cooks up thinner FP plates that work with real gunpods, or shrunken gunpods, or just thicker tires for the landing gears lol

Is it common to get a factory stand adapter so out of spec that it just wobbles and banks 5 degrees to one side? My fighter cradle is like that. I've unscrewed the halves and seems like one side is just sloppy enough to not grab the big tab of the stand properly. Tried to pad it back to tightness with crafting glue as a reversible change, but it peeled. Probably going to try Tamiya cement next... any better ideas? And I've been playing with the tightness screws of one hip without realizing I could probably have solved some of my problems just by pressing the swing bar back in behind the spring ramp. Those screws are starting to strip. Anyone know the specs or any common place to find replacement of those screws?

And the thinner guns are dummies that can't transform. I vaguely remember checking photos and seeing that they are hollow or have a different footprint, or something like that, which is why I doubt they are interchangeable with the transformable ones. Too lazy to dig pages back to check that. It's only me that's whining about the parts forming though. Nobody else seems to care.

The backpack is true to Queadluun designs 🤡 NGL though, the quad gunpod is kind of cool. If only it would stop irking me for knowing that it's not perfect transformation... Kind of hoping belly plates and fast pack have the same gunpod connections, so I could choose to forgo landing gear compatibility in favor of perfect transformation instead. But I have serious doubts that is the case.

BBTS resells jp exclusive p-bandai stuff too though. They can't be used as evidence of WWM release.

Now that I've thought about it, the way this looks, regular retailers like hlj, hobby search, and amiami can't even sell this. This isn't a retail release at all, let alone WWM. This is definitely the usual tamashii web/P-bandai release. Anyone that is able to sell this already regularly deals in P-bandai stuff. Bandai probably chickened out on production volume because the size of the toy or something. I'd say don't count on it being different overseas. I'm guessing it will open orders on bandai's overseas sites 2 months late or something. The few times pb gunpla broke this rule and went retail overseas had highly publicized bluefin invovlement in distribution long before release. This isn't going down the same path at all. It's just looking like the good old scalper release, with the difference of everyone being conditioned to think it would be WWM.

The funny thing is, Bandai used to regulary post reprint schedules to vendors that eventually get leaked to public. So it would have been less conspicuous for vendors to pretend to know things just a few months ahead of time. Since the pandemic drove demand, scalpers increased and bought up all the stock (as if p-bandai didn't birth so many of them to begin with 🙃). One of the things they did to combat this was that they stopped posting those reprint schedules, thereby increasing FOMO, and giving more power to scalpers 🤡. That's why we no longer know when things are re-releasing, and vendors shouldn't know too far ahead either. Of course Bandai didn't stop there, to further curb scalpers and ease supplies, they then banned JP retailers from selling abroad, except HLJ. The result is export supplies becoming more limited and unobtainable for more people in the world where there isn't official distribution, giving even more power to domestic JP scalpers 🤪. As for the new factory, it was supposed to be somewhere close to the old one, and according to their old timeline, should have been operating since january, focusing on making more environmentally friendly and affordable limex kits. But no news has come of it since. Maybe shutting down the yokohama moving 1/1 gundam beside the factory is part of the move, but that would imply shutting down the old factory for no reason lol.

These look great. The CF pixie could totally pass for something in a more realistic setting and nobody would know lol. I'll patiently wait and see what you cook up next.

NGL, I think they put you in queue even if they don't know when or if there is a reprint. You can tell by their (and some other vendors') multi years long backorder of some gunpla, waiting for schrodinger's rerelease.

It's becoming an alternate universe where everyone has a VF-25 lol If you want more suggestions, you can steal more colors from the rest of the franchise. Delta squadron VF-25 for example. Or do something weird like steal nintendo color schemes. Mario and Luigi? Pikachu? lol. I think a Samus themed one would actually go well.

Can those mashups transform? I've been thinking the super pack's shoulder missile pod might be the one thing that fits on tornado pack without losing function. But I can't test is since I don't own any of those.

I feel kind of monkey pawed wishing for this, lol. Stories of loose joints, abundant surplus 25G's on the market, and the move to releasing 31J made me not expect this to happen. Went on a spending spree getting other stuff instead of that. Now Imma have to think very carefully before pulling the trigger on this, and I'm sure the price tag will be very inflated from the renewal. 😭 Also, ever since beginning my collection of these, display space has become another concern. Still hyped to seem more of this release though.
