  2. Well if my memory serves (and its done a lousy job in this thread) Grumman merged with Northrop to form Northrop Grumman, so renaming of past ventures would be Northrop Grumman. So no need to worry about Boeing's name on Grumman stuff, though i wouldn't be suprised if Boeing somehow buys Northrop Grumman. Cruel Angel's Thesis
  3. I'm about only 8 minutes in and I see another trend with the Itano Circus, Can missiles. There were at least 4 can missiles (a pepsi (bad parody of one), a can of Bud, Octupus Hi-Ball and unknown soda or beer can). Well I'm done seeing it and I didn't catch any other, though some missiles did have the can shape. I did notice it seems some scenes were almost perfect repeats from Macross missile scenes. Not too sure though. Anyone else notice that or was it just me? Cruel Angel's Thesis
  4. Was over at Dreamland Resort and came across some interesting news. Well the question is did he really install those components, there are photos of the cockpit before it was sent to the musuem showing the cockpit full of instruments (one was missing), and now photos show the instrument panel almost bare. So its a he said, photos said issue. There is no way to prove that the photos show it arrived like that or it the photos was taken, then the cockpit gutted before being shipped. However if whats in the cockpit was ripped out that was in there when it arrived, it should be returned. On a side note if i was installing stuff into a A-12 i would have photos of the entire process, including me grinning like a loon everytime i put one in. Interesting though I lived not to far from Castle Air Museum for several years and I never got any pictures of me with the SR-71 there. Note to self correct that when i can. Overall its being made into a child's fight. He did not pay for the A-12, the CIA did and they have the right to do with what they want with the planes. I may not agree with a A-12 being turned into oversized lawn ornament and away from public display, but the CIA has ownership of the plane. At least this A-12 has fared better then the one of the USS Intrepid. Cruel Angel's Thesis
  6. This has come up on another web site I visit. According to snopes a teacher taking cell phones from his students in class. They were listening to a phone call where a girl is killed. Later they would recieve text messages saying about them being killed or the person that was killed was following them. It was starting to freak them out. It turned it out it is more of the viral for Year Zero.   7. According to Aviation Week at Red Flag excerises this week a kill was obtained on a Raptor. I don't have the issue handy, but according to what was posted on the Discussion Forum for Dreamland Resort, the pilot had believed the engagement was over and the aggresors had left. One had doubled back and was able to get behind the Raptor and get a shot in. To quote a section of the post "Someone on another forum mentioned that perhaps this might be the biggest true danger to Raptor pilots in combat: complacency, from growing accustomed to the near-invincibility they've enjoyed in training." I just find it amazing a kill was scored on a Raptor, but Red Flag is full of suprises a year or 2 ago, F-15 and F-16 pilots got a wake-up call when they were engaged by Hinds.   8. Lets see if I get this right, Vegas reduced to a desert (well more of desert then it is) filled with zombies and rejects from a Mad Max movie? Wow, guess following the story line of the games is too difficult for Hollywood. Well I haven't seen the Resident Evil movies, well 'cept for part of the last one, once they resorted to traditional Hollywood i was done. Sure head shots to the zombies, but on the what ever it was no head shots thats it, there is nothing in this movie worth seeing after this. Now if this is being done to Resident Evil still think Metal Gear might be safe? Cruel Angel's Thesis
  9. I was reading about the UPS and Airbus today while waiting for my roommate to get the money orders for bills. Seems the realistic delivery date of the cargo planes is not what the signed contract says. So UPS is looking at probably dropping Airbus and going for cargo planes from Boeing. Planes are i believe for some 727's and some DC-11's. Cruel Angel's Thesis

  11. Well if you have the gravtional stuff on the ship you could use it to generate gravity wells outside the ship. Enegry weapons will be warped away/around the ship. Kinetic weapons will be affected as well. Enemy ships will have certain sensors affected due to the gravtional distortions. You sensors will be affected, but you have sensor windows (yes i know its a Star Trek answer) that can be opened and used. However the enemy might pick up on those and fire a weapon through it (like shooting down a snipers scope), so having the sensor windows moving or you open and close them once you get intel. However the distortion will effect your weapons as well, so you can fire out of the sensor windows (something never covered if your shields protect you how do you fire out them since your weapons will be effected as well). Realstic sci-fi shields are always difficult to do since you have to use something to makes sense, but you always fall back on Gene Roddenberry's answers. "We don't sit around explaining how a car works, why would they be doing that in the 24th century." And there is a axiom for anime, "Unexplained tech is better then stupid tech." Now in Warhammer there is something called void shields so you might want to look at those, not sure of the sci-fi level in warhammer, but you might find something. Cruel Angel's Thesis
  12. Setting never really was a big issue for me. Any setting will work for me, i usually see what the setting is then craft the chara for that game. However I did have a idea of running a mekton game at DDC for a while now. It would've been pitting a Valkyrie fighter wing (15 fighters) against a entire base that have been run over by Zentran. The premise was stupid and I have been refining so its not as dumb, but the base was one of the few that had a good chance of surviving the bombing. The best one i could think of was AFFTC Det.3, better known as Area 51. I had gotten pretty far with the enemies being faced, need to actually dig it back up and refine it to work as a game. Not to mention i never had to money to go to DDC to run it. Another one was the one working out with a few guys on MW before my shedule got messed up. The setting was a base after Space War One. So it allowed players dealing with remaining Zentran forces, Anti-UN forces seeing their chance and so forth. I thought up a lot of things for it, but with my work schedule as it is, actually doing it is a dream right now. The rule system would be Mekton with some of the Gundam Senki ideas. Turn Value for turns, minimium speed rule, ACE Custom (actually worked out the multipliers for it with Tsuneo since he just said a mech had it in Gundam). Since i have never gotten my ideas off the ground due to real life I can't really said what i would've enjoyed. When i do I'll let you know.   13. Wow, i must admit WOW! You must've watched those scene's several times over. Well now i must pull out my stuck in time YF-19 and YF-21 stats i have promised the MZML i would post some time ago. Been busy moving from place to place and having to find the binder, Just finished my who's know revision. I used the compendium and several fansites to develop mine and some talks with you. Lets see i have for the YF-19 eithier 18 Bifors BMM-24 or 4 HMM-02. HMM-02 is my classification for the latest set of AAM's. I had nothing else to work so i went on from here. I guess it should be AMM-2 to show its the next gen of AMM's instead of HMM, but i went with what the compendium said it stood for. Well I'll end up changing it in the end. Lets see for the FAST packs 24 Bifors BMM-24. Man i overpowered the sucka. Seems with AAM loads i was right. The YF-21 i have 48 Bifors BML-02S. With the FAST i have 24 Bifors BML-02S. Well flip them and i have almost the same you have. Guess i should just revise mine to match yours, you have done the reasearch here. I should change damage loads, leave the YF-19 where they are and drop the YF-21 by one kill (5 Kills would be the new damage). Job well done. I once am awed by the lengths you go for this.   15. Well I would prefer the orginal colors myself. Not sure if this would work, but paint half the oginial and the other half the contemporary. You can go with what looks better or just post pics and let us decide again. By the way i do pop in to look at pics as you post the building.   20. Okay I have a possible image but so far everytime i try to load it as a attachment its not letting it happen. Something about the server being reset as the process is happening.   21. That i can agree with Roy. In my group we were more into roleplaying then what is on the sheet. We rolled dice for combat mostly, the rest was us roleplaying everything. Led to some interesting ideas when we as characters had to figure out a way to take out the bad guy. We even had a GM once remove the dragon from a dungeon, he was scared we would kill the dragon with a pillary, a ladder, some halfling bones and rope. On a side note i enjoyed the D6 Star Wars, damage was a bit funky, but i prefer more then each level more hit points. Penguin if you are looking for more detailed character creation don't sweat with the system. My group has some old books from Task Force Games, i will admit it might be almost impossible to find them, but you might find them if your lucky. They are called Hero's for and based on the game type. They was Hero's for Legend, Hero's for Today and Hero's fro Tomorrow. Once you finished you had a character with a background and character traits. We would on some game use it, not all, but we also feared the book as well, it can turn evil on you. One day Dan was rolling a character, it got bad, he finished the character but he wasn't going to play it, he ended up with a dwarf with a perchant for Necrophillia, oh man that was scary seeing all the events play off of that. One thing i have learned in the several systems i have craved through. Its not the system that defines a character its how the player plays it. So if they are looking for detailed character creation those are the books, but warn them it can come back to haunt them. Cruel Angel's Thesis
  22. Actually kinda yes and kinda no. Straight Mekton is good with chara develpoment but once your characters all start to get good they all see the way stat wise. The reason is too many attribute rolled up in one stat. All combat stats are grouped into Reflex's, how tough, strong is all in Body. Now with Mekton there is another way to go, it allows for more character customization. There is using Fuzion. Fuzion was the proposed new system for both Hero and Interlock, but when Pondsmith accepted an offer to work for Microsoft well . . . it all feel apart. However Talsorian still has the Fuzion system. It has been through several rewrites, but it can be used for Mekton. The first Fuzion game Bubblegum Crisis was Mekton for Fuzion. They built everything out of Mekton and put it in Fuzion, however all of Mekton hasn't been shoved into Fuzion, but most of it can be figured out. The Talsorian website has Fuzion 5 for free download. Shoving Mekton in Fuzion is easy however its building it in Mekton then converting in Fuzion. But its not too hard. Interested i can provide you with what you need, most of the Mekton to Fuzion is divided across several out of print Fuzion books, i have them and can provide you with the info. Cruel Angel's Thesis

Okay some explation on this version of the FAST. i was talking to Benjamin about the FAST on the YF-19 and he saw the FAST as being built as shields more then as command armor as i had did, so i figure why not and started doing that for the Valkyries. So here is the variant for FAST. Took me a good while, if these are shields they should be able to take more punishment then straight armor, so the DC is a little higher then for straight armor, if its shields might as well get some use as you use it the take what you couldn't dodge. You might use this in more cinematic battles, allows you to look good as you use the arm and legs to aborb enemy damage, but don't expect it help on missiles, oh no its still going to suck, just not as bad. Have been thinking of changing the DC to a little lower, but what do you think. keep in mind i think it was Benjamin that said a good DC or SP and low DA so i might be right, i remember the DA part the DC part might be one of the voices in my head playing with me.   25. No defensiveness on my part, you must be reading things. As i said problem with RPG's and TV everyone has their own idea, so not everyone is going to agree. Do realize after a reading a couple times it does come out defensive, my bad for the wording. True you could impose the -5 in space, might make that a note on the sheet now. Not a bad idea. Well there were shown being fired in the anime so i treated as such. You can make then thrown. Lets see make it a 0 range missile, add the Fuse multiplier (instead of sayin' when it goes off, time limit when the spoon comes off). The powerplants are cool actually, i did list the explosion save (XS) right? <checks> yeah i did, but i guess i should've make that more easier to read. While Macross does have exploding enemies and good guys a plenty the powerplants are treated as cool. I had a reason for this years ago, but i have forgotten it.
