Not only a unicorn, but a prodigal son returning.
I was in the OG Low Vis Owner's Club back in the day.  Unfortunately I had to sell it when my ex destroyed our finances.
I found a local dealer who had two of them, worked with him before at a couple of toyshows and cons.
Imagine my surprise when I opened it and found my mark on the inner tab.
    My baby is home.

That's a great story!  Glad you were able to be reunited!  A great looking Valkyrie

I believe that it is a really good design for both fighter and battroid, the Gerwalk is strange, but the real beast is trying to transform the DX toy.  Who knows what the new movie will bring to us as far as new DX toys....one can hope.

I've been reading about the frustration of transforming that one.  I guess Battroid isn't so bad.  I think it's the head design that I don't like.  I hope you're right and they come out with some cool new designs.  Though hopefully not too many :lol:I'm still trying to catch up with older releases! :D

Wow, really makes me wish they would improve/revise the SV-262 DX mold and given us more variants.

^^This.  I love the fighter mode of this Valk.  Not crazy about the Battroid mode though.

I hope Bandai chokes on excessive stock for forcing people to buy the same toy again just for an accessory that should have been included in the first place.

Damn right.  It's one thing to make a second version with minimal changes but to make a third?  That's just being greedy.  If it's like everyone has been saying, if releases have been coming slow from them lately the least they could do is release something completely new.  Like a Max VF-1S or something cool like that.

For a lot of people saying they weren't going to get this, it sold out of AmiAmi quick.

Because flippers need to be able to make a living.  By paying normal MSRP prices we'd be taking food right out of their mouths

Finding those grails from your wish list might be harder now that most of everyone is keeping them @Special Sauce. Don't know if @Kicker773 has some left for grabs or it is all gone.

There was a Stealth 1J with the SSP all in the box on Manda for 22k yen (box pitted to hell) at one time and someone has gotten it. DHL shipping wasn't a factor as that collector wanted it badly and got it (might paid close to 50k yen complete for everything when said and done).

I'll just be patient and wait for a good deal to come along.  They periodically turn up so I'm not that worried I won't be able to get one.  DHL isn't the only shipping available anymore either now that things are starting to loosen up.

Out of curiosity, what sites do most of you use for ordering these? I know it's an age old question, I'm just curious to see where people go, so that I can figure out where other options are.

This thread is probably the most comprehensive one you'll find for where most of us are finding our stuff.  At the top of the first page you'll find a nice list.

I don't know if this is the right thread to discuss the yf 30 Kronos. I'm thinking about buying one from Mandarake but I noticed that people are seeing the toy yellow even if the box has been sealed.

Is it worth the risk to get one?

There's apparently potential for any white Valkyrie to yellow.  Doesn't matter who the manufacturer is or what model.  Sealed boxes that yellowed were probably exposed to high temperatures or dampness etc.  If you can find a seller that stored them properly you're probably ok.

This part may be true but I don't know the aftermarket prices. You would need to buy the separate parts for missiles and Super Parts for the DX while the Arcadia comes with it all. Anyways, all different items, all worth having, IMO.

True, I was just speaking of the Valk itself sans accessories

For 1/48s I stuck with the noncannon black and gray valks: one anniversary black and gold, 2 stealth 1Js (one strike, one in urban GBP), 1 low vis 1A. All have held up well (pictured with DX Roy and Max).

May be an image of food

My Yamato 1/48s are all in excellent condition. Broke a laser off one of their heads but that wasn't the fault of the toy...dropped it onto hard floors from over 6 ft up so that's all the damage it sustained so not bad at all.

They are in very good conditions. Transformed them few times and they still look pretty solid. Some of them yellowed of course, mostly the ones that were exposed to direct sunlight. Anyway the majority still looks great, especially the low vis ones and the three GBP armors. I guess my only complain is that many stickers are peeling off. But that's a good excuse to take them off completely and put waterslide decals instead.

Good to here they have held up.  I definitely want to get a stealth VF-1J with the super packs set.  That's one I regret selling.  I'll probably get the low vis vf-1a too.  I miss that one as well.

  11. Question for you 1/48 collectors.  How have your Valk's been holding up after all these years?  Yamato was really the only one who made them in that scale correct?  I had a bunch years ago but had to sell them because of adult stuff.  Thought about maybe getting one or two that I still miss.

Yeah, and I wouldn’t say the detail and quality are better on the DX. I’d say they are different. There is definitely more detail on the DX compared to the non PF Arcadia.

You can also probably get the DX's a little cheaper than the PF Arcadia's.  Depending on which one you want of course

I am in complete agreement with your statement.

This is why it saddens me to see people point out that someone has overpaid for an item. Buyers buy what makes sense to them and makes them feel good, so why should anyone feel the need to take that away by telling them they paid too much.

I have been guilty of over paying but that is fine with me.

Only person who can tell me I paid too much is my wife, but that is for other reasons.

Same here.  I do my best to get the best price I can.  Sometimes I get a good deal, sometimes I overpay a little but in the end I get what I want and usually the overpay is negligible.

Cool. But you need to stop after Frontier. Period.

Try not to watch the next one.

You mean Macross 7 or Delta?  Chronologically I know 7 comes first so I would probably just watch it even though I've been watching Frontier.  I've not heard great things about either one, though "7" seems to have it's fans.  Macross II does interest me even though Kawamori wasn't involved.
