  1. I don't mind small, but if they are going to charge me that much money for something that small I expect it to be PT. This disapoints me in the same way megahouse disapointed me. Looks crappy and not even PT.
  2. While weaving would be cool, what would be totally kick ass would be Nemoy.
  3. Tis weird, I feel exactly the same way about the megahouse. The plastic has a skanky thin knock off feel to it to me. Sure the finish is okay, but in terms of proportions and material quality its a big pile of fail for me. The CMS looks like a more detailed and scaled down version of the Gakken. I own both the MH and the CMS, and while I might grab a Lancer M/H If I had to choose I'd take CMS.
  4. Carlin was one of those guys I always figured was to tough and mean to die. 71... Old but not that old... *sigh*
  5. This makes me very sad. The world is a less interesting place without him, and much less funny. I think we should remove the forum's language filters for a day in honor of one of the best f***ing comedian of all time.
  6. I asked this earlier but it seems to have gotten lost in the latest batch of messages, does anyone know what silver paint hasbro uses for their premium prime? If no one knows exactly which type, can anyone at least recommend a paint that is similar? It really bugs me that the legs are nicely painted but the upper arms are not.
  7. I've never heard of paint destroying plastic before... that really sucks, Dave, I have a leader class prime I want to get rid of.
  8. I wish yamato would stop using the bubble canopy on the VF-1... I like my canopy nice and smooth, make for a sleeker bird IMHO. The bubble canopy fits even less with how yamato has slimmed down the rest of the fighter... Still its the best rendition of the VF-1 so far. so until bandai makes a PG this is what I'll end up picking up to represent my VF-1 in 1/60th scale. Though I am definitely keeping my 1/48's around.
  9. That is the SHE kit, you can see the joint used to flip the heat shield out right behind the canopy.
  10. The other reason to wait on leader is that they are usually so expensive that you can wait a while for them to get discounted. Not a lot of parents will dump 40 bucks for one toy, particularly when they can get 4 for the same price. This of course depends on the toys popularity.
  11. Was never a big fan of fatty tetsujin, but I always liked the newer leaner design.
  12. Thinking of paint, does anyone know what type of paint hasbro uses for their silver? I just got my takara premium prime, and while I think they did a great job on him It drives me nuts that they left his arms bare plastic. I really want to go in their with an airbrush and touch it up.
  13. The one in the comparison picture is listed as the GTR alternity (though it looks like a really early proto). There also some news a while back of a smaller scaled spin off line from the BT (connected to BT because it was going to use licensed vehicles). I hope this isn't the case and I'm just being a panicky fanboy, but the fact they are showing it in scale with a movie deluxe, doesn't make me feel good. I hope the smaller scale is just a rumor. However, I can't think of many other reasons they would have for showing a comparison shot of it with a movie deluxe other to compare the relative size.
  14. Look at the picture I linked, thats the new alternity prime shown next to a movie bee for scale purposes. http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/c...-henkei-165176/ the GTR is not an alternator or a BT, its a new line of licensed vehicle toys called Alternity, and allegedly they are going to be deluxe instead of voyager scaled toys.
  15. Wait one fracking second, is that a movie inspired bumblebee in scale with an alternator? Does that look like a new mold for a movie bumblebee? http://www.fantofan.jp/news/event/toyshow2008/DSC00328.jpg Edit: whoops, never mind, it looks like the new BTs are going to be smaller....
  16. I like the look of the 1/72 better. Seems more streamlined to me. This is probably at the cost of PT though.
  17. Well, there are a few good tricks to cultivate as a toy hunter who doesn't want to pay it through the nose at a BBTS. Target's the easiest because their customer service is pretty good, at least round my parts. They can usually scan the item label to check if there is any inventory in the back that should be on the shelf but currently is not. They won't break street date, but if the street date has been passed, and its in the back, they will under most circumstances get the item for you if its in stock. At the walmart I go I cultivated a good relationship with the people who load and unload all the toys, and now they will on ocassion even squirrel away items for me that they know I am looking for.
  18. Did you ask for them to check in the back for you? I was out today and I asked the guy if they had any in the back inventory, and 10 minutes later he returned with voyager prime in hand.
  19. Perhaps, it would still be nice if they tampo printed the FP's that come with the VF's and give the ones sold separately stickers.
  20. Why couldn't they manage to stick the skulls on the fast packs.
  21. I wonder if the kite on the fuselage will be tampoed. I know Graham says it can't be done because its two separate parts. But I've seen tampo printed details across part seams.
  22. Got mine and everything is pretty tight, though I can't get the belly to close up seamlessly. Is this just a quirk of the toy, or am I transforming it back to fighter wrong?
  23. Whooohoo! BBTS is shipping wave 3 of animated already! Jazz, Soundwave, Snarl, and that weirdo oilslick guy.
  24. Its similar to how people can't get over how Starbuck is a man in the new BSG, or how the new doctor who series actually has production value.
  25. I enjoyed transformers for what it was, a loud summer blockbuster. It wasn't the movie I was hoping for, and I have my doubts the second one will be either, despite promises of more robot action. Transformers did let me see large, realistically rendered transforming robots on the big screen for the first time, and thats all I went to see. While transformers has produced some good story lines, like beast wars and parts of the marvel comics run, we are not talking about a franchise known for its sophisticated writing and characters. I think people tend to toss around terms like "Great", "Fantastic" and "Instant Classic" a little to liberally. There is nothing wrong with really enjoying a shallow but entertaining popcorn movie. Its not like Transformers really pretended to be anything else.
