I’ve rarely had a valk that was problem-free out of the box, but it definitely has gotten worse since covid. I read on other forums that factories running at reduced capacity and hours in China due to shutdowns. Bandai’s retracted presence in quality control with scheduled production deadline to meet does not help the situation either. Back to Mirage, both of my copies have issues in various places but I take what I can get in these crazy times.🤣

It sounds like the shields may not have been inserted all the way in. I had the same thing, put them on thinking they’re on but popped right out. There is a point of resistance(almost springy) but if you pass that, the shields will click in and will not pop out easily.

So last night I got the parts installed, swooshed it around and I see why Bandai has chosen Gerwalk mode on the box cover. The rotating boosters are fun, you can position to make them look like hovering or coming to a stop.😁The added weight along with the questionable build quality of 31AX makes it feel a bit flimsy and awkward to handle though.

I am probably just a few days ahead of you and in this game of Macross collecting, slow ‘n steady wins the race!😄

Got a delivery from LP today. Of course I had to email them to "expedite" the process last weekend. Tamashii web exclusive shipper wrapped in a bunch of paper then thrown into a DHL bag, no major damage, just a corner bit wrinkled. Regardless LP shipped it quick and I am excited to check it out after work. I will be sure to share my first impression.

Looking at the photos I am thinking this toy may benefit from subtle panel lines to accentuate all those details, make it pop so to speak😄

Mandarake Nakano branch had it for sale the other day and I’m positive other branches will follow so yeah, not the only way but a great place to get it for 10k yen plus shipping. As for me I emailed LP for order update and to my surprise, they’ve given me a shipping notice w/ tracking hopefully it gets picked up next week!

My order is with LP. I guess I'll have to email them with 'where's my order?!' to get the ball rolling again, when I shouldn't have to. Unless things improve, it's my last order.

Nice! The new wing boosters are really cool but seem to be heavier as well watching the clip..Hopefully everything stays in place because I already see loose joints on my hayate.🤔

It usually opens up at 4pm JST on the day of preorder. That is 3am EST for me and you know who’s up😆

Sorry that happened to you. Looks like a typical Bandai QC to me. What did you use to remove the glue spill btw? Acetone will destroy paint and there isn’t really any other way than sanding and repainting the affected panel entirely. I had a similar glue spill on my metal composite Zaku and boy, did I have so much fun color matching to factory paint..

Great news! This is a perfect size I could have it out and play with on my work desk and no doubt the 0A is imminently to be followed down the road Bandai milking the new mold.

Shipment info received from LP last Friday but no movement as of yet. Oh well in the meantime.😉

It hit me all of sudden that LP is nothing more than a proxy service such as FJ or Tenso with their business practice such as this. Sure, LP comes through eventually and you get your stuff wrapped in dismantled amazon box but.. a direct supplier with Bandai my a$$. God I wish I didn't have those pending preorders.
