  1. "Row/low" is just a machine translator struggling to transliterate the katakana character which makes up the last part of "Queadluun Rau". A1, thanks for locating that picture. Funny thing is, there are both males and females among the guests, and they're all wearing white dresses and suits. Raises a lot of questions both about the accuracy of the "reenactment" from M7 and about the original event.
  2. Yup, this has come up several times before. Basically, the Matchbox/Exosquad Tactical Battlepod (Regult) and Officer's Battlepod (Glaug) are somewhere between 1/55 and 1/60 scale, although the proportions are somewhat off relative to the lineart. (Whether the lineart is plausible given the fact that Zentradi are supposed to be 10 m tall is another issue.) If you do a search, you may be able to find the longer discussions, plus some comparison photos.
  3. High-detailed non-transformable VF-1 toy? Even assuming it was much better than the RT superposables and the various gashapon, I don't think I buy one. 1/60 destroids I'd buy in a flash if the price was reasonable. Godzilla, what I've read is that M&M got married on board the Meltran ship before the final battle in DYRL, and that the video was transmitted to UN Spacy. You might find some info in this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=396 Also, someone posted pics of the reenactment from M7, but I don't know where they are.
  4. Are you sure? I thought that in DYRL-continuity, they were married as giants. That would be the scene which was dropped from DYRL, but which was recreated in M7. Edit: I really don't like the ridiculously long hair.
  5. Whenever you guys see some freaky or alarmist story, especially if it's circulated by email, try to find a unique text string and use it to search google. Very often, you'll get a link to an urban legend page. About spiders. I don't like the ones that come in the house and run around, but even with those I sometimes catch them in a jar and toss them outside instead of just squishing them. I'm more likely to kill the tiny ones that crawl around since those are probably the ones that bite me when I'm sleeping. If spiders are willing to stay in their webs outside, I leave them alone, even on my balcony. I'm happy to have them around, eating flies, mosquitos, and other pests.
  6. 1. I hope that in person, the pockets are better defined so that you can tell her hips aren't ridiculously wide and deformed. 2. I don't know Japanese but this is my interpretation of The first sentence says that the first figure will fit into the 1/60 Queadluun Rau. (The "low/row" is transliterating ロ which is the "Rau" part of Q-Rau.) The standing pilot version and wedding version cannot fit into the Q-Rau. [ウエディングバージョン is direct transliteration of "wedding version".] 3. What's with the hands on the first figure?

    Bootleg SDF-1

Ah, you've found the 1/3000 version. Possibly by Matsushiro. It pops up here from time to time in discussion.
  8. Yeah, forgot to add that. When I was little, the F-4 was the first fighter that I ever learned about. I hope at least a few manage to keep flying in the future, if not in active service, then as collector's items. (But I'll bet they're a lot more expensive to maintain than F-86's.)
  9. Yes, it is. It's a simple question with a straightforward answer, that can be readily found in references that are well known to knowledgeable Macross fans.
  10. Well, that would explain why there's so little info on VF-X 3 on the net. Thanks for the correction.
  11. Agreed. Actually, I didn't mind the music, though it would be good if it was just on one channel so you could turn it off and hear the comms more clearly. File is about 100 megs, I think. My fave was the last shot, which earned a "Holy crap!" from someone. You can really see the missile adjusting to intercept.
  12. It's from Macross Digital Mission VF-X2. Look here for a list of mecha which appeared in that game. I don't know if it appeared in VF-X3. And yes, the Macross Digital Mission VF-X games are considered canon, since they appear in the official Chronology at the Compendium. (This is sort of a newbie question, by the way. You might consider putting similar questions in the newbie thread.)

    Better hurry

Here's the thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=7627 As for how big it is--it's 1/5700, so assuming accurate scales, it should be slightly more than half the size of the 1/3000 transforming Taka/Matchbox SDF-1, or about 10% larger than the 1/6300 Taka/Matchbox nontransforming "Miniature SDF-1".

    Better hurry

Guys, the topic of this thread is a semi-bootleg of the Takatoku 1/5700 Macross "block system" SDF-1. I started a thread on that a week or so ago in the Toys section. "Semi-bootleg" because I suspect it was made using the original molds by Matsushiro or an associate, similar to the 1/55 and 1/100 Matsushiro "Space Fighter". There's also a 1/3000 "semi-bootleg" which has similar packaging to this one; the toy itself is supposedly nearly identical to the Takatoku 1/3000.
  15. Is Desert Pink really still used? I read about Mountbatten Pink (something like that) which was used on ships in WWII, but eventually abandoned. I assumed Desert Pink was also relegated to the realm of nostalgia. Anyway...so this thing has a battroid mode? Edit: Ah, okay.
  16. I don't think the AC-130 has much armor. (Which is why it's only used at night.)
  17. Ah, at its best, that was a pretty good show! Even at its worst, it was probably around the level of Smallville, which is to say, still pretty entertaining if you didn't take it seriously. I wonder if they're planning a movie version... [Checks...] Crap, it's going to be a Jim Carrey comedy.
  18. I'd direct the second question to the Feedback forum. As for the first question, the average size of a male Zentradi is around 10 m. Kamjin (Khyron in RT) is 11.85 meters tall. Britai is 13.54 meters tall, but he is significantly taller than the average soldier. A Regult is 15.12 m tall--a tight squeeze for the pilot, but doable. A Valkyrie in battroid mode is 12.68 m tall. Source for all the above information is the Animeigo Liner notes at http://www.animeigo.com/Liner/MACROSS.t#1 Official mecha data is also at http://macross.anime.net/mecha/index.html
  19. It's the Aisan Prince. Do a Google search and you'll get an eyeful. He's the kind of pop star / idol you can expect to see on Asian TV shows when they run out of girly men and jailbait idols with looks but not the voice to match. The guy in the picture is really Tuan Anh, a Vietnamese pop singer. I think he looks more like Little Richard than Prince.
  20. That would make sense. I suspected as much, but I didn't know if there'd been a reissue of those.
  21. Reissued HCMs? Are you talking about something other than the Macross HCMs, or are you talking about the Bandai 1/55s, or something else?
  22. APU, your mind reading act is getting tiresome. Who are you to second-guess the reasons people give for their own opinions? And how many times does this need to be quoted: (Look here.)
  23. Good response, MSW. Seriously! It was just that you seemed to be repeating yourself at length in your debate with JsArclight. Your last post makes your point quite well. Really, all we can hope for here is an airing of opinions.
  24. MSW, you missed at least half of the point I was trying to make. Yes, stats can be troublesome, but anecdotes and airy generalizations are next to useless. (Besides, if it were done properly, the debate that you're trying to have with JsArclight would be way off-topic for this forum.)

    Kids and your toys

What a softie. If they get hungry, show them Papillon. (No, not Alive!)
