I wouldn't want to start buying macross figures purely as an investment opportunity. Would rather enjoy the figure, transform it and admire it. Neither of these Anniversary VF1Js look good, to be honest.

Nice customs there!!! While looking at 1/48 DX Max i ended up finding a 1/48 Angelbirds on Mandarake... So I bought it. Will see if it was a dumb purchase or not.

From What I Own, Best: a) Yammy 1/48 Stealth VF-1J (when i get my hands on a Bandai VF-1 this will probably change) b) Bandai VF-31 (Just the most fun to transform) c) Bandai YF-19 (cause its the YF-19) Worst: a) Toynami Masterpiece VF-1 (Just terrible, but the packaging is probably the best) b) Yammy V1 1/60 VF-1J (even though this kickstarted it all, so I dont hate it but dont like it) c) Bandai YF-29 Memorial (I love the colours and design but I can see this not holding up over long time and lots of paint chippings)

Considering this is a special limited first edition release with a special stand. Surely another batch will be released by Bandai without the special stand.

Yeah this makes sense if you are buying on a regular basis. By my simple calculations that means over the past year you have spent $16.5K on VALK and other stuff.

Yeah it is too much happening here, even if the colours are good. I mean you can barely see the VF-31 anymore. given how great the VF-31 looks I wouldnt want to cover it up.

Ill patiently wait for a review and see, I do feel the over engineering in Bandai toys lowers the durability long term. Minus some paint chipping i have no issues with the Yammy 1/48s.

I think in fighter mode the Super packs just dont work, the boosters just seem silly to be honest.

I got mine for 30K + 3000 on SAL from NY, but thankfully no customs on it. I think they know how to do it properly there. I got my second one from CDJ, 25k + 5800 EMS Shipping and then got charged customs cause they declared the full RRP of said toy. So i got royally screwed on that. I didnt intend to buy two, I would be willing to sell my second one but yes unfortunately have to wait till prices go up just to break even, if it ever does. $280 with shipping at this stage is a fair price, assuming you dont get taxed of course.

I agree, orange doesnt work very well with the livery of Arad's VF 31. Perhaps the red/turquoise combo could have worked better.

My humble collection of my 1/48's. I switched over to other stuff. But personally I love this size and the gimmicks on the 1/48 series. Will display again once i settle down. My Low Vis has the velcro front flap.
