The only thing the Dreamcast controllers' D-pad was able to pick up was the skin off my thumb, creating blisters with much more efficiency than my PS1/2 controllers.

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - <<Season 1>>

Bipolar is the wrong word, as it describes either a personality trait, or temporary symptomatic character. Allelujah's mental ailment is referred to as . -
Furtherly enhancing his powers, Dan took the dark path and became... middle boss: Satsui no Dan Only to be quickly defeated by Ryu and Ken...again... Rescued by mysterious organization that gave rise to Twelve, he ultimately became... final boss: Mecha Satsui no Dan!!! Anyone ready for a completely useless Lv3 super move: the ultimate insult Oyaji taunt?

I second that last sentence. Not just as the final boss, but even as a character, Gill's design was as tacky, cliched, and corny (as in Children of the Corn corny) as humanly possible. The team faced the serious challenge to create a even worse character, but attempts failed in creating Urien.

I can't possibly be the only who sees the connection! Wang Riu Mei in Chinese dress screams bootl...er, I meant homage to Lynn Minmay... (Thankfully she moved on to an attire more suitable for her looks) And the Kung Fu outfitted Hong Long (literally red dragon in Chinese) seems like blatant cheap knock-off / parody of Little White Dragon Kaifun (a la Dan Hibiki on Ryo and Robert). -

Animeigo's or ADV's Remastered SDF Macross

Try playing that disc on a couple more DVD players, perhaps on PS2 and a different brand machine? -
Chakotay got lucky his Maquis theme wasn't overplayed like Worf's "Look ma I'm Klingon, honor honor" theme. Voyager would've been rated much better if Neelix and Kes were replaced with deeper, more respectable characters. I'm good with the rest of the crew. Enterprise...er...T'Pol is every bit as..."competent" as Seven...Phlox and his culture was interesting, Hoshi's OK...the rest of the crew, however, were forgettable. Even the Andorian stuck out more. The first 2 seasons were decent, but last 2 seasons really sucked in its failed attempt to perhaps recreate a Dominion War-like theme.

I fail miserably to comprehend how you can possibly see any remote hint of Sulu and Scotty in Cho (asides from being Asian) and (Pegg), while dismissing Quintos's resemblance to Nimoy's Spock. One of us must be suffering from demolecularization effects of frequent transporting. The new Chekov, looks a bit under-aged... The new Uhura, while bearing little resemblance to Nichols, is much hotter than her predecessor.

Nope. It's been confirmed in magazine that the pseudo-RX-78-2 was in fact "O Gundam." My guess would be that GN-004 will come out piloted by a certain...shall we say... ...masked man...? -

I'm in Brussels, Belgium where they limit the download bulk, so I'm waiting for a more accurate sub. Mendoi is pretty reputable. I'll have to rely on the good folks here to review those subs before I put out precious and expensive bandwidth. -

I work overseas for the Department of State, which is the main reason I can no longer attend the marvelous Macross Cons. I served my Argentinian style pasta at the very first Macross Con that Jerry hosted, you can find me in the pics (Asian wearing ponytail). The things I give up to serve my country! 2003 to 2005 in Cairo, Egypt; 2005 to 2007 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Last week just relocated to Brussels, Belgium.

Macross 25th Anniversary and upcoming new TV series thread

I think Engage Planet KISSDUM still has 2 more episodes to run, just watched Ep. 24 last week in Chinese subs. Although KISSDUM is no Macross and the mecha only played a very small role in the series, the transformation and battle sequences did feel smooth and natural. Given more time Satelight will do Macross justice, at least on the mecha front. Just something promising to cheer everyone up after the "2009" announcement. -

Another half Japanese female vocalist that stands out is ステファニー(Stephanie), who did both EDs for Engage Planet: Kissdum. Her father is Armenian American. Although her record label overly emphasizes on her extra high tones (like Sony did Mariah's), she's got sweet vocals to begin with. ステファニー's Official Website -

I have lived in Argentina for 5 years, and it's NOWHERE NEAR as bad as Cairo, Egypt and Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (aka Saigon), Vietnam, where motorists and pedestrians are both suicidal and homicidal. Survived 2 years in Cairo without incident, but cost me my mental health. Ho Chi Minh City put me on crutches for a month. Now that I'm on Home Leave back in Los Angeles, the traffic seems SOOOOOooooooo tame it's psychologically therapeutic. I never thought that one day, I would actually enjoy LA traffic. We Americans are way spoiled. *********************************************** Macross 25, only 4 days left on the countdown... -
[C O R R E C T I O N] Macross II takes place approximately 80 years after the First Space War, not 60.

Is it just me, or do Wan Ryu Mi and Hong Long (literally "Red Dragon" in Chinese) resemble the dynamic duo of Lynn Minmay and Lynn Kaifun (aka Little White Dragon)? -
Sorry, no schematics and no battroid back shots. However, here's some cleaned up images of the VF-14 Vampire from Macross M3 from MAHQ: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/m3/vf-14.htm

From Wiki: The character Devon Miles was murdered in the year 2000 by Thomas J. Watts, a released murderer working with members of the Seattle police to overthrow a gun ban in Knight Rider 2000 (1991 Sequel Movie). In short, Hoffster can't play Devon. -

************************* S P O I L E R **************************** In Ep. 17, it is revealed that Itsuki is actually a cyborg. Her father used his technology to revive her from a fatal accident. She is actually the second person to be successfully converted, the first one being Kyouka Iburi's bodyguard: Masaki (record card showed his photo). Itsuki's intention to fight Aiba is to seek death, as she resents being a techno-monster, and claims that her father had no rights to bring her back from the dead. Aiba notices her wish to seek death from her suicidally aggressive attack patterns, and scolds her by stating no matter if they turn into monsters or anything else, everyone still want to live on, and that Aguri, Loki, and Tohn all wanted to live, and if she means to throw her life away, she should share it with them, or Yuno. Apparently Aiba's words changed Itsuki's mind to a certain extent, as she helped out Aiba, becoming mortally wounded again in the process. Nanao rescues Itsuki's father Prof. Sasara from Rei, and Yuno discovers that he's terminally ill. At the end of the Ep. he donates his organs to save Itsuki, who now fully understands his love and stops resenting him. *********************** In this Ep. Itsuki piloted a converted Dolphin with blue paint scheme, and there's some rare mecha action for a change. Rei displays supernatural powers again (she once dodged Aiba's fast with superhuman speed in an earlier episode), her eyes turned red with feline-like pupils, and cut open steel cell gates with energy emanating from her hand. Aiba's little dodging stunts are pretty good, slightly resembling Kira Yamato's evasive maneuver with Freedom. It seems that Nanao and Itsuki will be more likely to become Aiba's allies rather than his opponents. -
Attempt at an American Gundam series

I was honestly thinking, prior to watching the clip, that it can't possibly beat Korea's Space Gandam V. How disgustingly naive I was! As soon as I saw the title Doozy Bots appear, and heard its braindead jingle, they made me feel that Sponge Bob Square Pants would be a more worthy show. Or even Teletubbies. The person responsible for that title and the series was obviously smoking something far worse than pencil shaving... *shudder*
