  1. I just realised I never posted my info here Hi I am originally from Mexico City now living in Singapore. Saludos added myself to your map EXO
  2. A couple of rushed pics... Without flash: With flash:
  3. Is it me, or have the news about upcoming Yamato VF's slowed down after they closed the link of photos that IXTL found?
  4. If you like to transform your toys to relieve stress, there's no better option than this version of the VF-25. No need to worry about holding the shoulder so that the joint / screw breaks or anything like that. Just separate this thing into all the parts and re-assemble. By the time you're done, you'll forget what you were stressed about BTW, some of these come with paint wear in the edges of the crotch part (I checked several yesterday in the store where I got it from). While trying to retouch mine, I realised that the black detailing is not actually black, it's more like a very dark gray. For Tamiya's paints, I think it's very close to one called "NATO black".
  5. Funny thing is that it includes support for the stand that was linked before, but only for Battroid and Gerwalk modes, not for Fighter And a word of advice... the shield's plastic is EXTREMELY thin. Last night when trying to attach it to the arm, I heard a cracking sound. Nothing broke but it ended up a bit bent. To avoid that, I recommend puting something in the shield's gap while attaching it to the arm (the knife works) to avoid cracking the peg. This pic shows how many parts are left after changing it to fighter. I insist, at least the gunpod, the nosecone and the shoulders should not need to be swapped. I was reading (using google translate) the reviews in Amazon Japan and, basically, people don't like it. Many are also cancelling their pre-orders for the rest. Some even recommended the kit. Yes, the kit needs paint and it takes longer to assemble but it's just one time (and you're left with less parts)
  6. I got mine yesterday and... I was hoping for something better. I still think that there are many things that could have been transformable, instead of having SO MANY replaceable parts. Having two gunpods is completely unnecesary IMO... and speaking of gunpods, both of mine were bent because of the shape of the plastic tray It feels like a watered-down GNU, with the fragile plastic of the HCM Pro line... After handling mine for just ONE day, there are some parts that show paint wear. Or maybe they were like that for starters (the paint job for the face in my VF-25F is not the best either). *sigh* I hope this is not the only way to get the VF-171.. hopefully it'll be made for the DX line.
  7. It will be shown @ Hobby Complex (and transformed possibly ): http://www.yamato-toys.com/event/200903/in...nk=index_pickup anyone care to translate?
  8. Originally, it was yesterday. The new date according to the website is: VF100's(ブイエフハンドレッズ) VF-25F メサイアバルキリー(早乙女アルト機) 5,040円 2009年02月28日
  9. Oh, ok. Thx! I hope these optional parts are sold as add-ins and not with new versions of the VF-25
  10. They should replace the VF-1 with the VF-171EX. I hope that the poll they're making is just to decide the order of the releases... The box says: Macross Zero (2008), Macross (2009) then... Ai Oboeteimasuka? then macross Plus (2040), Macross 7 (2045), Macross Frontier (2059)... can somebody understand what the last part says? And they have the option for: Normal, Super Parts, Armored Parts, Fold Booster and Super Fold Booster. Which one is the Super Fold Booster? the Fold Booster with Super parts like the YF-19 ones?
  11. According to ANN: The displayed list for Bandai's VF-100's toy line is for a future survey of what customers may want for the line. All of the designs may not be made into toys.
  12. Since they appear to be following the toy releases, I think we can hope for the VF-11 to appear in March / April... and after that... back to the VF-1
  13. Just got the Macross Frontier Official Fan Book by Gakken... haven't been able to check it out completely (I'm @ work) but I noticed it has many illustrations that have appeared before in magazines (sans text) and... finally a bit of mecha line art, mainly cockpits and an explanation of how the EX fits inside. Apparently there'll be a "Macross All Song" book being released in March.
  14. I haven't said the VF-25S sucks (otherwise I wouldn't have bought it)... I actually don't care about the shortcomings of both VF-25s, BUT... for me, the VF-25S does look better with a longer neck. If a simple modification might fix that, why not do it? It doesn't involve drilling / cutting / painting or anything else. And I do prefer to watch the VF-25S from every angle not only from the one that makes the neck look better (and it's not just a matter of elevating it properly as you can see in Bandai's official pics) A small fix in the design could've made it look better... but maybe the guys @ Bandai decided to re-use as many parts as possible (to avoid any new molds). I guess that's expected from the guys that reused Basara's VF-19 gunpod for the VF-19S. Let's see if they ever decide to make the Armored Pack... maybe they'll include a new head with that one since the neck will look shorter still: Anyway, I'll go to look for additional parts... with joints this time, apparently those might work. And I'll post here the results... for those who are interested of course
  15. I followed drifand's recommendation and went to check for hobby parts. Found these: On the right hand side is a comparison with the original joint from the neck. So the VF-25S went from this: To this: I think it does make a big difference. I can't believe the guys @ Bandai didn't come up with a solution for this. The only problem: it can't be changed to fighter. The head doesn't fit correctly and it is annoying to remove the ball joint for each transformation. Here's another pic:
  16. Seeing this thread resurrected, I checked my VF-1J: fine... VF-1S: perfect. And I decided to check the second VF-1S that I have kept in the box, never been transformed... BROKEN.... Going to buy glue tomorrow... Here are the pics:
  17. Looks good!! do you need to remove the "neck" to transform it to fighter?
  18. I think these would be useful: Joint parts assort Kaiyodo Revoltech Assemble Borg BTW, if I understood correctly, for the modification to work an additional hole needs to be made in the head. Jenius: Thanks for the review!
  19. From Yamato's latest newsletter: http://www.yamato-toys.com/items/detail.php?gid=1282
  20. Here's one of the S-types... yes, there's a 1/65 in the mix
  21. According to Yamato's website, it was released today : http://www.yamato-toys.com/after/index.html
  22. No mention anywhere that this thing is 1/60 scale... I hope it really is
