    Now that i had the Predator Helios Neo 14 for a week. The trackpad is amazing. Even with the reseated yoga trackpad, the helios is far and away way better. Tech Youtuber "Just Josh" really likes the trackpad as well as this laptop. The battery life is good. I got about 8 hours time doing various tasks, web service and office work unplugged, screen half the brightness. The keyboard is easy to type on. The worst part of the laptop is the speakers are small. There is no bass. I had spend several hours boosting the audio doing some combination of EQ and using a software to trick the audio to get the speakers loud. One of the common problems is the low volume when gaming and disabling spacial audio solves this issue that plagues the helios 16s version as well as others in the Acer lineup. Finally after 4 hours got the audio tuned to my liking. The Ultra 7 155H runs cooler than an ultra 9 185H, dead silent doing office tasks, web surfing or watch videos and fan noise is mild to medium when gaming is pushing hard. not obnoxious and can easily hear the audio over it. In terms of gaming, the 4070 is a bit stronger than the 2021 Legion 7 w/ rtx 3080 mobile card that fried up. Been testing it with Cyberpunk bench mark at 2560 x1600 94 fps with no raytracing and no frame generation. With DLSS quality no Raytracing. no frame generation, I can get 79 fps with textures setting all on high. Raytracing turned on at 1440p, 47 fps, w/ raytracing lighting on ultra , no frame generation. 93 fps framegen on. 70 fps with Ray Everything Fully on with Frame Gen on at 2560 x 1600 For $565 this was a steal.

    Sidetracking from the GPU Ram story: My laptop showed up: no cosmetic issues got it for $562 which is a little bit more than $392 plus tax, i paid for the yoga. Decent battery life unplugged w/ mux switch on. here’s the specs and review: one last pic of the YOGA before it goes back. (the trackpad works flawlessly since reseating the cable but i dont need two laptops and rather have an rtx 4070 mobile)

    I had an issue with my legion 7 2021 where one of the laptop speakers (the left) would cut out. Turns out on all the legion 7, the ribbon cable for the left speaker with come loose over time (heat, movement of laptop) I would re-seat the ribbon cable and it would again dislodge 8 months later. I put a fine piece of electrical tape over the ribbon near the connector, never dislodged again. This seems like pretty widespread on multiple lenovo models: Re-seat, cable (probably put some tape on it) Ground the trackpad to the chassis. The copper tape lenovo uses at the factory is flimsy causing the touch response to cut in and out so the electrical static build up seems to cause some issues if not grounded). this is the mod that a user on reddit used as a solution: (original and post mod pic)

    Remember I was mentioning track pad issues on my lenovo? Seems like it's a common issue and may need to be grounded properly "If anyone is still having this issue with any Lenovo laptop, the solution is easy. I have now fixed 8 Lenovos (different models) with this same problem. The ribbon connector for the trackpad is located under the battery. During assembly, Lenovo just barely plugs this ribbon connector in. After some use (with heating and cooling of the battery or just movement) the ribbon connector no longer makes good contact. Simply open the laptop, remove the screws that secure the battery, unplug the battery and remove it. The ribbon connector will then be visible. Pull it out with the little tab (you will notice it is not very secure) then re-insert it firmly. The trackpad/touchpad will work after this." update: went ahead and reseated the cables and re-ground the copper tape to the metal chassis. trackpad been working smooth so far, knock of wood. returning it once my new laptop comes in but wanted to try the solution posted since it only took 5 minutes and was easy as upgrading an ssd.

    Why do they keep remaking hot rod? He's got Prime killed and was a sucky leader. No charisma. He single handily killed of G1 interest in season 3. all the specific toys created for the movie that wasn't diaclone (ultra magnus) or combiner related sucked.

    It's for small business, not too demanding tasks. running quickbooks, a bit of light photo editing for ads, IG posts, handbrake for videos but mainly battery life and a good trackpad since I have to travel and present and don't want to carry a mouse. love to game on it but that's optional.

    yeah, this is the review i was looking at that also compares Intel vs. AMD plus last gen AMD that i linked. review says it's about the same performance as the Ryzen 7 350 AI for this particular laptop. Yeah, i'll pm you if i get another laptop and will ship it to you.

    the only laptop i have that is the yoga. I do alot of presentation with power point so i need a touchpad that's reliable on the go. where i don't have to set up a separate mouse. the trackpad is inconsistent on this yoga, i'm looking to possible keep and live with it or swap with another laptop in the same range and get a separate gaming laptop. or get a decent laptop that can do both. this 860m is pretty weak in the ryzen 7 AI 350, i read the prev gen's ryzen7's gpu was stronger. yeah, i might keep it since it was open box for 392 dirt cheap.     Mike, I know you have a g14, but what laptops do you guys use for non gaming tasks? I have a spare low spec'd lappy for basic tasks and work (a recent pick up of an open box sub $400 yoga 2in1 14 oled). I'm debating about returning it and getting a better work laptop.

    They finally fixed the timing lag of the subtitles on Macross Plus OVA that I initially noticed at launch for U.S. Hulu and Disney plus since HULU inserted additional fade outs for commercial breaks that threw off the subtitles. Happy to finally can enjoy Macross Plus again.
