    Macross in Japan

Probably about the same time Volkswagen deliver my new hover car Seriously though I'll bet money that when we all have robots a la "I Robot" they'll all be from Japanese Manufacturers. They (Japan) will rule the technological world one day.
  2. Yeah I was wondering where you'd gone.

Yes it did I have one of the tickets from it.

    Macross in Japan

Still better than none at all. How stale would it be if we only had the original and DYRL to talk about. We'd be probably going Gundam la la la la by now.
  5. Thats why I always buy Japanese consoles because you can usually do more. The PS3 is a prime example with its uk version being neutered when it comes to backward compatability. But it helps when you have a friend who lives there.

    Macross in Japan

Well my friend who lives there says most anime fans know what it is but 10x more people are into Gundam so it will never be mainstream. In Shinjuku I was known as Macross san by the staff in the Yodabashi model shop due to my Roy Spacewar 1 era hair cut. the sales assitant came over to me and proclaimed that I was Roy. Then they just called me Macross san. Lots of shops sell Macross stuff but the usually sell all the other Mecha type stuff too. One thing to remember Robots in japan are as normal tho the populus as Football (soccer) is in the U.K. To us they are a big deal in Japan if your tv advert doesnt have a robot in it then its lame. But as Sumdumgai says Frontier is only helping. Most people know that transforming mecha is eaither Transformers or Macross though.
  7. That would be without the box too
  8. nearly there and just as hard http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=23547&hl and http://www.geocities.com/duom/gundam/hasepv/hasepv.html Via this thread. http://macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=3434&hl
  9. I have nothing but respect for anyone who does this. Knowing only too well how hard it can be re- engineering a variable figure into fixed posable figure,a variable is way out there.
  10. The parallels between RT and todays society will likely be used, the energy crisis for one. The LOTR perspective is also one that would work too. as long as they dont rush it , then it should be ok not taking into account CGI and character useage. if they go for only slightly bigger than human aliens then the whole point of the VF1 is lost it was after all built with fighting 50ft alien troops in mind. As far as casting its adead cert that they wont get the people who would fit the roles exactly but the will re hash the story to make them fit. Just as long as they dont put it in the blender to re hash it.
  11. More likely they will do the Konig Monster as it is in the video game and in M 25, but maybe they'll do both.
  12. Sounds the most likely to me given what we have already been told/shown in previous episodes
  13. "Chocks away Rick" "spiffing idea Roy"
  14. I supose they are if your idea of hard is deciding what colour pen to paint your model with.
  15. Oh yeah!! Not just for nostagia reasons eaither his voice is really great.
  16. Well Frenzy is back at least
  17. BattleStar Galactica Stealth is not that bad a movie visually its nice and well paced. Story wise youve kinda seen it before thats all. A true disengage eat pop corn movie. As lowviz says if they could do it in the style that has been used for the new BSG and give it inteligence it will work well.
  18. Cobywan Cool work I really want a 3d mill/router table along with a lathe a new virtical drill/mill and a nice workshop and a sandblaster and ..... MechTech IIRC the UK mint also do it the old way too.
  19. In a word YES!! I only saw it a few weeks ago and all I though was Macross plus without Battroids and a few plot changes. Mind you BSG the new series is kinda Macross more so in some ways than the original, which did give ideas for Macross in the first place.
  20. Probably calm and evil with slight undertones of should be locked up in the nut farm
  21. I'll ask my man on the ground to see if he would export them to MW users. He already does for PS3 rumble controlers and Gamepoints and some games, so maybe he would for Macross PSP if they ever come to be.
  22. Well sold as far Im concerned. My PSP mostly has Japanese games anyhow. They are so much cheaper when you are in Japan Well I will just have to make sure I get out to Japan in time for the release, eaither that or my man on the Ground in Tokyo will bag it for me. It so handy haveing someone who works in the Games industry out there For all those of you who dont have one yet have you considered that they may make a Macross themed PSP pack. Sony have done several like the Metal Gear ones or the Poki mon ones etc. If M 25 is popular enough in Japan it could be a given
  23. The VW Audi Group have long publicized that they do not want to be associated with machines of war. The fact that we got a G1 VW Beetle character was down to different copyright laws to the ones we now have internationally. You cant really blame VW as they were born during the unsettled times before WWII and spent most of the war producing war machines. Even after the war they were a political toy of the British war effort. A lot of German businesses don't like to remember or admit their War time activities. But ill bet a lot more motor co's want to be involved this time round.
