Saw this announcement in a Chinese Macross FB group. Apparently the PF VF-0D will be shipped to distributors starting 26 June. Aaannd that means I have to beg NY to see if they will be willing to upgrade my EMS shipping (already paid for) to DHL, and of course, at a cost.

Thanks. My Japanese is very bad and as you can tell, I couldn’t make out some of the missing words in the sentences by inference. To me, this little paragraph didn’t seem to tell us much except that the TV style super parts won’t be released shortly after November.

I am still very intrigued by the little caption box on the top right of the magazine scan, so have tried to make out what I can and put it into google translate. Same here. I already have the “black and white” YF-29 duo of Roy and Ozma with super packs and decided to skip. It seems that PO nights are now harder than they used to be a few years ago when I started. If/when DX Roy 1S comes out, I may just wait for release day and see what price I can pick it up for.

Well, for me personally, any last bit of credit I gave them on fulfilling the 31A preorder (despite the 7 month wait since release) back in 2018 has been completely nullified from the terrible experience over the last 5 or 6 months (for pushing my order to the April release when I actually placed it in July for the Dec release). Yeah on paper they may be the cheapest, but I think there are many similarly priced options out there where our customer rights are much better respected.

While my two orders (Roy 4G and the DX SSP) are stuck in limbo at N-Y, and their response to me was "we can't do sh!t because of the Coronavirus", I wanted to report a very decent customer experience I had today with.... erm… nin-nin-game. This is like my fourth order with them since a year or two ago. Back in December when the Super Mini pla Black Wing was announced, I placed an order and picked economy shipping. Total came to (5,490 + 1,390 shipping) = 6,880 yen. And I forgot about this completely, until I got two emails on May 26: (1) message from N2G and (2) your order was shipped. To my surprise, they sent me the following message, and my order has arrived at my door this afternoon May 28. I know that Nin Nin has been put on a "grey list" somewhere here and the experience of another member probably is very different from mine, but I am extremely impressed with they way they handled this, especially when I think back on how N-Y has treated me like dirt and brushed me off my ticket inquiry. I still have 3 orders outstanding from N-Y, and I had stuck with them because they did deliver my 31A preorder that time, but I am done with them after these. The courtesy upgrade from econ shipping to DHL was really a sweet touch, and I would have been happy if they had only offered the shipping upgrade option for buyers to decide. Just a story I wanted to share in the midst of this shipping limbo which most of us are going through right now.

I still have a couple of unshipped orders (DX 1/48 SSP, HMR VF-4G Focker) from N-Y. Have waited patiently for more than a month and just sent in a couple of tickets to ask where they were. It sounds like N-Y are still shipping out items to the US; so fingers crossed that they will come back with a positive reply.

Ouch, sorry to hear that Sandman. The only time I had an issue with Manda was on a used YF-29 Ozma, where the left engine intake cover was missing. I was hoping that they would just send me the missing cover, but they said sorry, can't do that, admitted the oversight and gave me a small refund (I cannot remember how much it was). For me, since the 29 and 25 intake covers are the same, I was happy to use a spare one from my 25F on display with super parts anyway. I think you should be able to negotiate nicely with them and explain that a refund of (4000 yen) is more in line with your expectations, given that it is a noticeable break. Maybe bring in your 10 year purchase history as well. Good luck!
