  1. ...unfortunately I'm going to have to say goodbye to that green bench top as we are selling the house and dissolving a... difficult... marriage. So my model building updates will be taking a break for a bit while we sort out the finances and living arrangements for all involved and I can continue with the Macross addiction. One bonus is I wont have to see any more models drop kicked down the road. BONUS!!! No need for anyones condolences etc as it is what it is. In the meantime I will be continuing with a few of the VF-1s and the YF-25 Prophecy on my down time, between taking the Tuono RR out for a hoon and going Gliding.

    Hasegawa VF-31

damn it!! I just completed buying the 4 Bandai vf31 kits... now I'll have to junk them!
  4. unfortunately the 1/144 Q Rau's are virtually worthless, that's how I acquired so many for the Gimix city fight diorama, $6 each on Yahoo.jp
  5. I quite like my IMAI and Bandai QRaus... the 1/144 ones
  6. two with the EX cockpits are the Delta Trainer VFs, ones the Minmay 2009 special, ones the Angel Birds no.4, ones the 001 rollout special, ones the 30th Anniversary special and there is one more for the 5000th special
  7. Which Q-Rau are your trying to build?
  8. after a break the VF-1 production line is back up and running
  9. Gloss is a smooth surface like glass, matt has a talc in it that gives a gravel like finish under a microscope.
  10. let the chrome layer FULLY and TOTALLY cure as any blemish shows in the candy top coat. Finger prints included. Mist the red tint over it, let it dry, repeat until you get a nice deep red. Don't try to do it on just a couple of coats, it may take 4 or 5. The first ones HAVE to be super light mistings to get adhesion without effecting the chrome layer. I thicker coat of red could rewet the chrome layer lifting it and thinning it in spots showing through the black base. Been there, messed that up.
  11. Nope, didn't feel it. Hence the lesson goes unlearnt.
  12. A little 1/144 Destroid and Gimix moment I magnetized the arms and torso on the Yellow Sub Defender to allow me to mess with more dynamic poses and maybe down the road some new arms with UUM missile packs and Gatling guns. The Spray booth has become an overcrowded temporary hangar so quite a lot to get done today.
  13. top work as always... so that's a stock Oracle or a Superpack one rolling into the fight?
  14. Tonights mission, aside from not drilling my fingers... failed twice
  15. Be better served just doing a Macross The Ride Master file to cover all the freakish test beds out there
  16. why was this book called the Seigfried though... isn't it about the VF-31? So the 31A Kairos is also a Seigfried?
  17. This is up at Yahoo Auctions Japan!! Project anyone?
  18. looking forward to seeing yours, especially if it towers over the Valks
  19. yeah its the way of the future of modelling. Mechatronics The ones FAR too rapid and twitchy in the movements though, needs reduction gearboxes.
  20. Race you... I'm doing the same with the H-Hangar kits and the 1/72 launch arms - have 2 of them.
  21. Launchbay looks great, now to cut a hole in your kids bedroom wall and mount it there! Yellow Submarine 1/144 Resin ADR-04-Mk X Defender arrived FINALLY... and wow! Talked about detailed!! Going to look great next to the GiMix Valks... after I take a casting off of the legs to fit up to the Gashapon Tomahawks
  22. Didn't you just buy the Capts originals?
  23. drive it off one end, use microswitches that get hit by the door as the stoppers/limiters and to close the current gets reversed. should be easy...ish
  24. only a few to go to complete the entire VF series 1/72 line up from vf-0 to vf-31 There is a VF-31a kit doing the rounds and a YF-30... Just missed a VF-5000
