1. Quick, someone hack into Graham's computer. He might have a review there of the "Mystery Item" already done.
2. Reminds me of the Motorball arc in the Gunnm manga, but without the ball.
3. Quarter of a century here... I feel old now.
4. TV 1/48 Vf-1J (Hikaru): 001 DYRL 1/48 Vf-1A (CF): 001 Others 1/60 QR Mirira: 001
5. The more I see the VF-0D in fighter mode the more I love the design. But in Battroid mode it ain't so different compared to the S and A: Folded wing things in the hips and knees, bigger heatshield cover and the wings are the new things when you look at it up close. A pain I'm sure for Yamato to redesign but aesthetically not so noticeable. If the line doesn’t do well and they just make a VF-0A with the D’s head (did Shin’s 0A have that head?) and the same scheme it wouldn’t be so bad. One can always get the Hasegawa VF-0D fighter or one of the resin kit makers could do some of their magic on the 1/60…
6. Never liked the design for the Gyan, but hot dang, that MG is really something.
7. Always had a great time with Axelay for the SNES. Konami made a great shooter with some very epic music. I love to see the little details like the space colony in the background (I died more than once while admiring the bosses) Good thing I have the ROM of this game to remember the good old days. The arcade Macross game was one of my favourites. I almost beat it once from start to finish but an idiot had to block the quarter slot when I was about to kick Bodolza's head
8. Love the Gerwalk on the VF-1 and the VF-0. The VF-11 is also fine. With the rest of them I just don't see it so elegant (VF-17 is just ugly). It's such a useful configuration that even if it ain't aesthetic it can save the pilots bacon more than once.
9. If you like the VF-1S Hikaru, then I suggest you get that one or at least the Roy. Both are one of the most representative valks, they have colour schemes completely different from your 1/60 valks and you also get a S head design. You won't feel like you have two sizes of the same model that way. I’ve read that you would like a VF-0D (not the S). Well, the Hikaru or Roy could tie you up until Yamato decides to do a VF-0D (if they ever do so).
10. That first transformation was sure great (saw it again and again ). I also remember that in the first episode the scene were a valk crashes close to Shin just struck me as "wow".
11. I really enjoyed Droids and the Ewok cartoon as a kid. A live action spin-off related to Star Wars? Right now I would just see it out of curiosity, I'm still “Star Wars hype†sick.
12. Or maybe it's me that missed an article somewhere. If I did, can anyone point it out? 382296 Well, robotech.com is controlled by HG, and if they sell Garlands that means that they are making money out of something Yamato made (and they sure got a deal to drop the price 35% more than HLJ). So if RT.com tries some of Yamato’s higher quality stuff and sells and Toynami is just making Robotech merchandise because HG has a contract with them (which I imagine could expire some day), then, as I said, this could benefit us in the future. I just want to be positive about this (and saving 50$ on a Yamato toy is one of the most positive things our wallets have seen in a long time). I also bring this up to talk about something that I think is related to this thread and also so that this “yamato bitching thread†as some have called it doesn’t turn into a “noob bitching threadâ€. If they want to pin a thread dedicated to “Yamato bitchin†they should post their requests here, following the proper procedures they so lovingly bring up when someone doesn’t use the search function and not “contribute†to a thread they want to see sunk to page 166 (this might be new to some, but the less post something has, the faster it sinks ).
13. hehehe, guess you didn't understand my post (but now I'm sure you need a hug). HG is making business with Yamato, the direct competition of Toynami's valks, about something related to Robotech. Will it amount to just the Garland? Who knows, but it sure is an interesting development. Never say never. Maybe because to make those stupid variations they only need to dip the valk in different colours as opposed to doing a complex pattern like the Minmei guard or reworking the VF-1 design? People weren’t asking for them, but they sure are buying them.
14. Too bad the THS-02 Optimus isn't available lose and has to come with the trailor. That just ups the price (and space) to much for me. A 4'' - 10 cm high Prime is just the right size for me. Think it would be posible to resell just the trailor on ebay?
15. wouldn't it be great if newbies stopped asking these fantasy questions. 382193 Looks like someone else needs a hug… Remember that about a year ago the 1/48 GBP armour and the VF-0S were fantasy also. By the way, Yamato's Megazone Garland was worth about 150$ a few weeks ago. Now the same company responsible for keeping Yamato’s valks in Japan (and by this making us pay a lot for them) is selling it for just 99$. That’s a price drop close to 35%. Yamato and HG having a business relation sure is something that could benefit us in the future.
16. That poor Gundam had the grace of a brick. Looking at how difficult it is for this bipedal robots to stand, I bet a Guncannon would plow everyone’s ass out of the ring
17. And speaking of dancing transforming robots... http://youtube.com/watch?v=8qRybt6fn2s&search=transformers Love this comercial every time I see it on TV
18. I like what you say LowViz. Maybe the movie will go in a similar way. The image of a Decepticon manually putting together Devastator is just funny. Sound Wave and his tapes would be so cute. Bet they would be scared of Gundam kits at first
19. On a sad note: looks like the lawyer subtitler is dead (or has moved). Anybody know where it is now? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?...ndpost&p=338456
20. The original series is great!!!!!!! LOVED EVERY BIT OF IT!!! Great story, excellent oldschool animation (screw CG when you have good hand drawn animation), super mecha action and characters that you care for. I want to thank this thread for always reminding me that I had to see this great series. Finally done so and it was sure worth it.
