  1. I didn't even bother attaching my SAP pack. Just not worth the effort. This thing's staying in the Detolf in battroid mode forever.

Alright. Just for perspective purposes, let's compare it to the other recent attempt:

So here it is, in context:

Somehow, I found a way to fit the new Monster in my Detolf. Granted, it looks kinda weird next to the one other HMR figure I could fit in there with it...
  5. I just recently started collecting the 48's, and, while they are now pretty friggin' expensive, I absolutely love them. No way do I see myself ever wanting to get rid of them. That being said, for the sake of my collection, I heartily endorse all of you out there MW-land who find that they're just not right for you anymore!
  6. Speaking of which, for those of you with Detolfs, how do you usually organize your stuff? By series/ movie/ OVA? Good guys in one row, bad guys below? Or to the side? For some, it's fairly easy. Like w/ the M0 stuff: But for others, it's not so easy.
  7. Finally got a 1/48 Max Jenius so that I could use my Low Vis Wood Land armor (have a 1/48 wood land low vis, but felt like it was overkill to stick the wood land armor on a wood land Valk).
  8. Added the Ivanov this week: Was able to grab a 1:5000 SDF-1 this week for 250 incl shipping (ok deal :shrug). I felt incomplete w/o one. Hopefully it'll arrive from Japan soon. Now I gotta make room in my Detolfs...
  9. Sooo, um, any way to have some sort of super-alert when the PO's for this open up?
  10. I got the 0A, and have a pre-order on the 0S. Sure, I'd like for it to be cheaper, but I'd say that for pretty much everything I buy.
  11. And THIS is why some of us get storage units.
  12. While I will readily admit that: 1) I didn't hide the cords behind my Detolfs, 2) the cables for my Detolf pot lights are completely not hidden, 3) I'm a total slob, and 4) I have a bastardized collection of Macross, Mospeada, and G1 Transformer figures all mixed together with no apparent logic, I still love looking at my collection!
  13. BTW, am I the only one who has a somewhat unhealthy attraction to the 55's as opposed to the 60's? It's weird how much I prefer them...
  14. As well it should. It's been hiding -- complete -- in a box in a basement since like 1986. I felt like it needed some air. BTW, anyone else have something like this happen before? So I'm cleaning out our guest bedroom (which is where we stash all kinds of stuff -- Xmas, birthday, and random presents for the kids, oldish electronics, etc) in preparation for my sister-in-law coming to stay for Mardi Gras (we live in New Orleans), when I come upon a bunch of shipping boxes. Three of them are from Japan, and I literally don't remember throwing them in there. Next thing I know, I open them up and see this: Sometimes it pays to clean up. Granted, none of these are really treasured Valks (which is probably why I forgot about them), but that's my kind of holiday surprise! Also, finally got my really old school VF-1J (decided to put it next to Jetfire for fun comparison) and complete w/ accoutrements! Now I just need more Detolf's to get delivered.
  15. Haha. Thanks. My insecticon/dinobot/predacon/constructicon collections are pretty good.
  16. I guess this is the best place to display the best pieces I was able to find in my parents' basement (mistakenly posted elsewhere): Wow I hope that's not as big on the forums as it is on my computer... I'm so happy I could have my 2 jetfires in both battroid and fighter modes. (and yes -- my Gakken has lost a bit of its color over the last 30 yrs, but come on -- I was 12, and my jetfires were in boxes, whereas my Legioss wasn't...)
  17. Didn't wanna break the rules. Still technically a nub hereabouts. I'm just glad I have somewhere to post one of my, well, more random hobbies (40 year-olds and 'toys' generally don't mix, I have no interest in posting my golf club collection , and most people see my home theaters and tell me I have an unhealthy addiction) , and I love finding a hobby that I love, that reminds me of my youth, can connect with my kids (both my 5-year-old son and my 4-year-old daughter have helped me unearthing the old Transformers and setting up my Macross stuff) and is still an area where I feel I've barely even scratched the surface on what I could learn/know/collect. So this is a very welcome place for me, and I don't wanna ruffle feathers...
  18. Apologies. Figured as much after looking through the thread from beginning to end. Will delete.
  19. Yeah, I was pretty amazed. It had been sitting in their basement since 86, it appears. Looking online, it looks like I -- well, my brother and I, but he lives in Brooklyn now (no space) and has no sons (no pretense to grab them) -- had about half the Transformers from 84-86 (none thereafter). That would've corresponded with me turning 12 in 86. So I probably moved on to other stuff before I could beat them all to hell. Some of the stuff was still in the box with the styrofoam, all the instructions, the little red see-through thingy, etc. Hell that jetfire figure (with battle armor -- I didn't apply it to the forearm, since I thought it looked cooler without it)) was essentially mint in box except for the stickers being applied (when I changed it to battroid mode yesterday, I think it was the first time it had ever been transformed -- at least that's how the joints felt), and the Galvatron figure had definitely never had a battery in it. I had started debating about putting a bunch of them on eBay or something, because some are fetching really good prices (like 30 of them were in their boxes), and then I realized that what even the best ones are selling for on eBay is essentially the same price as my Macross stuff, and I certainly haven't though of selling any of my Macross figures. The jewel was that green Robotech fighter in the top right, though. Unfortunately, it wasn't in the box. It took me 2 hrs to find that thing amongst all our other Star Wars/ GI Joe/ Space 1999/ He-man stuff. There's gotta be something I can do with the other stuff -- my dad says anything I don't grab will go in the trash. Good thing we got a new storage unit! Too bad it's a 6 hour trip to their house...
  20. I went by my parents' house over Xmas, and picked up some (I still need to find a few) Transformers and a couple of Robotech figures from back in the early 80's. Ended up sticking everything in some some of my Detolf's. My most valuable stuff is still upstairs in my son's room, but I decided to put the other stuff in my game room. So here's what's downstairs:
  21. Grabbed the Macross Quarter aircraft carrier thing. Waiting on the Konig Monster and 6 other things that are coming... Someone help me. Please.
