One thing missing from the new Terminator films is the scare factor the original first film had. He was practically Jason from Friday the 13th. Remember this scene? I remember some in the audience jumped when the Terminator tried to grab Sarah. I also remember my nanny who took me and my brother, I was ten years old in 1984, to see it was covering her eyes most of the film. I had a great time!

Looks like the film is doing poorly at the box office. Not surprised for different reasons, namely recent crappy sequels. I do plan on seeing the film but my love for the franchise died when the FOX series was cancelled. https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2019/11/02/box-office-james-cameron-and-tim-millers-terminator-dark-fate-starring-linda-hamilton-and-arnold-schwarzenegger-bombs-with-apocalyptic-11-million-friday/#6046f9515a3e

No flying cars but we don't have to use a payphone to make a video call that costs you $1.25 If I had to choose between a smartphone and a flying car I think I'd choose the smartphone.

I think OP meant this for BLADE RUNNER only, the other titles already had their special times pass by.

My company held a Halloween contest for best costume and best office/cubicle decoration. My team won best office decoration, I took home the prize of a $50 gift card since I did all the work. Thats me in my costume in my office. Didn't win best costume though, lol.

No flying cars or replicants but Los Angeles did devolve into a sh*thole as predicted, lol. That being said, Blade Runner is one of my favorite films so this month is is a big moment for me too. I have more to post on this later when I get home later tonight.

Close, but that wasn't a series. Maybe it was FireBird or something that sounds like that- 1438 replies

I got a $5 coupon from Fandango so I may go see it just to get out of the house for a couple of hours. I don't expect much, probably won't be better than T3 which was a good movie IMHO.

You guys shouldn't overthink the sci-fi logic in Star Wars, especially the recent films. I try not to think about the stupid Starkiller base in TFA as I get brain damage if I do.

Re-watched the teaser, would it kill their budget to add some tire smoke when the vehicle skidded to a stop? Cheap cheap!!

As far as Star Wars trilogy ending trailers go I think ROTS did it right, didn't expect Palpatine to get so interesting!! ROTJ was pretty damn amazing for its time though.

Looks interesting. That being said, after seeing Vin Diesel in Saving Private Ryan and Boiler Room almost 20 years ago I know he can act better.- 12 replies

I really hate CGI in anime as it looks like crap or ages badly. Some cel shaded anime works but only if done right.

I'll wait till you guys see it first before I think about seeing this. Last Jedi was a waste of money.

Saw it last night with the wife for date night. I liked it, really got lost in that sh*thole of Gotham that takes inspiration from other big cities that are about as awful; looking at you Baltimore, NYC, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Marvel may make big spectacle films but they have yet to be as Oscar worthy as DC's films. Note: Black Panther was not Oscar worthy IMHO.

The Alien/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator Thread
TangledThorns replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So I had this ALIEN 18in doll for almost 20 years and couldn't figure out who made it, had no manufacturer marking and bought unboxed it at a comic book shop in 1999 IIRC. Did some digging on Google and after filtering many ALIEN toys I found it was made in Japan in the mid 1990s. Don't think it has that much value, especially since the tail just broke off http://www.hideousplastic.com/?page_id=921 -
I think the threads should be consolidated into one Yamato love thread IMHO. Keep it simple <3

This hits all the right nostalgia buttons. Great to see #1 back, I wonder if he'll direct an episode or more? Frake's Fist Contact is one of the top best Trek films IMHO.- 2171 replies
