oh god oh god oh god oh god....
J A Dare replied to Commander McBride's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yep...I did about the same thing around that age...except mine was a Mazda RX-7. Moral to the story...don't let a teenage boy drive a sportscar! -
This is me with a cool girl I met last year in Guilin, China.

If you could make any Anime into live-action...
J A Dare replied to Sarensaas's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Who thinks the Nausicaa manga is great? Who thinks the Nausicaa anime is great? Now imagine a Nausicaa movie with LOTR production value. What I'm trying to say is that the existing products hold up to their own. What makes you think a live-action movie couldn't be any different? -

To long. How about the movie instead? I think it could be done well. Now...who would play the Major??? -
Yeah, something centered around the Jenius girls. However, I can imagine the Hory Froating Head's perverse side influencing it too much...fanservice and other ecchi elements. <_< Taking it away from the story.

ummm...has anyone noticed Ahnold's hairdo gives him about 4 more inches? hmmm...shoe lifts, big hair...reminds me of RuPaul.

Actually, I believe it was a correction? If the Deathstar is like a celestrial body, it is travelling in an orbit and revolving about itself, like the Earth. From laws of physics, a "ring" explosion would occur due to momentum build up. Imagine a top spining and if you blew it up, see how the parts would fly off. Of course, the Deathstar is so large that you wouldn't notice the sense of it spinning. It's been too long since high school physics?

And dress exactly the same! Imagine shopping in an alien departement store?

Sure you can, that's what terms like "born again virgin" are for~ Even after tainting the toy with greasy dirty human hands? I'm curious about the folks with MISB Syndrome. What do you do to keep the boxes themselves in mint condition? Do you wear surgical gloves when handling them? Do you keep them sealed in the shipping box with packaging material that the toy box came in? Air and humidity degenerates just about everything (my record collection proves that), what do you do about these factors?

hmmm...there is a lot of historical influence involved. Anyway, I found the following explanation from Ask John at Animenation. However, the Anime18 explanation on the La Blue Girl DVD is better IMHO. B)

Anyone remember the plastic Vader helmet carrying case for your SW action figures? I'd like something like that for the ep 1-6 boxset, albeit a bit smaller in size of course. Imagine something like that on your shelf staring at you. B)

Dude, did you take a look at them without their sailormoon make-up? http://hicbc.com/tv/sailormoon/cast/cast.htm Move your mouse over each photo to see their plain self. BTW, I'd vote for the one in the red...which is she? Sailor Mars?

Hory Crap Tom! We pretty much have the same music taste...even the obscure oi. Oh, and I'm with you on the latter...I usually have the oldies station on if I'm listening to the radio...today's music just doesn't have soul.

Did I forget to mention DK? Well, make that two other guys!!! After Ahnold won, I searched in my closet and dug out my "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables" CD so I could listen to "California Über Alles". Eh....Jello Biafria just doesn't sound the same as from my once teenaged angst ears. Oh and regarding ska, I never got into 3rd wave...unless you consider The Pietasters 3rd wave ska. I still listen to Desmond Dekker, Laurel Aitken, Prince Buster, Derrick Morgan(my fave!)...and 2-Tone stuff like English Beat, Body Snatchers (mmmm...alll female ska band!), The Specials, (old) Madness, The Selector, etc...

It is. The article I was referring to is on the possibility of carrier based UCAVs. They are currently experimenting simulated carrier landings on land.

Hey Wm, you've built such a beautiful bird, I love it. However, there are 1.5 things that kind of bother me. 0.5) The canopy decal. When direct sunlight shines on it you really see the difference in blue on top of the canopy compared to the fuselage blue. You see this in your first 2 photos. However, in other angles it blends pretty good. 1.0) For some reason, the gray color of the intakes make them look "plastic." I noticed this in your front birds-eye shot. Maybe a little more weathering would make them look more real? Or are they suppose to be that color?

just for self satisfaction And what would be the right reasons? To keep her in a box in the closet?

It would start singing Brittany Spear songs and go after Justin Timberlake???

If you're going to buy a bootleg, this is the bootleg to get! B)

hmmm...I thought they are working on UCAVs to be totally automated...ie. no human intervention or control. That's why I mentioned attack/strike missions since targets are stationary or easily identified with pattern recognition. BTW, tha F-16 drone looks sweet. So what do you think? A Ghost X-9 in our lifetime...say within the next 40-50 years???
-
The Avenger right? I thought it only made it to concept stage? That's not a bad idea...if they are only going to use UCAVs for attack/strike missions. I mean, they already have a proven airframe. Wouldn't it mostly be a software issue to make this happen?

Anyone see this article?...PEGASUS: UCAVS LOOK SEAWARD Northrop Grumman’s X-47 UCAV may evolve into the first pilotless combat plane to take off and land on aircraft carriers. Anyone think we'll develop a pilotless "Fighter" (i.e. air-to-air combat capable) in our lifetime?
-
Anyone know how they compare in size (height, weight)? As someone else mentioned, I think Rock would make a good Conan too. BTW...Mary Carey would like to congratulate the new govenah... ............................

As someone who is studying Deutsch, I found the discussion on the origin of Arnold's surname interesting. Willkommen zu Kalifornien!
