1. Don't forget Gunbuster was also a pioneer in the fanservice department. Didn't it revolutionize admited breast jiggling?
2. Misa loosing her camera didn't really change anything either. The U.N. Spacy brass already knew enough about the Zentradi to stay firm in their stance. It could also be assumed (retroactively) from Zero, that they may have mis-interpreted the AFOS leaving after firing reaction weapons at it, as a viable tactic for threatening the impending alien threat. Little would they have realized the reaction weapons had nothing to do with it ceasing its attack & leaving.
3. Maybe it's just being jaded for so many years, but my first reaction was to search your post for sarcasm... Anyway, you'll see as the story goes along just why those first 12 episodes were so repretative, they were important for the long term developement of the story.
4. Nope, entirely different ending, though I didn't find anything wrong with the Eva ending myself. The Gunbuster ending is more ::::spoiler:::: Stop reading here & finish watching it! :::end spoiler:::
5. Well, to be fair, so far it has one advantage over the Sentinels. So far the female designs don't appear to look like men.
6. You wait until the very last minute of episode 6 before deciding "anything" is better than Gunbuster!
7. The movie was awesome, but they definately set a standard that wasn't followed. Crazy/Whiney Galvatron just wasn't cool. If they had used whoever did Cyclonus's voice instead for that season, he would have been a much better character. Boring/Whiney Rodimus was equally not cool. They spent way too much time that season having him deal with issues that were solved at the end of the movie. And then when he finally stops whining, they bring back Optimus Prime....and honestly, if they hadn't made everyone whiney battyes, they wouldn't have needed to. The definate highlight of that season though was the cameo by Cobra Commander.
8. Hmm, good question. I'd guess about not getting a proper release of Space Battleship Yamato! And don't forget, it also makes 9 out of 10 fiberglass cat robots shake with fear.
9. I think Sony is supposed to be re-releasing it on DVD in september.
10. Looks like we were wrong. After searching for a bit this morning, I finally found a review from someone who's seen it.
11. However Ep3 has much more pop culture significance than some dying 20 year old hack job of a show that most people don't give a damn. vinnie 422161 True, but my point being, security would have been significantly tighter on it.
12. Or at the very least, it's not actually finished yet, but hyping it up to have had "screenings" helps in the licensing to a distributer process, which would get HG extra dough to finish it. Besides, if people could get work prints of episode III before it hit theaters, I find it hard to believe that a review of this wouldn't have popped up yet.
13. Damn, now I even really want that thing...but must save money for DVD box set....
14. What would you do if you found out your husband was using his robotics engineering decree to build a little girl that he snuck home from wori in a suitcase? Pretend she's your daughter! Could you imagine how different that show would have been if he had been pulled over by the cops on the way home? There was a genius sitcom idea, "Small Wonder." They couldn't have possibly come up with a more fitting theme song for a show...well, maybe Charles in Charge....or "The Munster's Today."
15. Oh come on, an NDA for a movie 90% of the public doesn't even know about to begin with? Doesn't make sense, nor would it stop reviews, impressions, etc, from leaking out. I don't just doubt that anyone has seen it, I doubt there were any screenings to begin with.
16. That's a simple one, L.I.L.Y. Cat. It was released by Streamline years ago, but due to it's blatantly alien-rip-off-ness (I assume) no one's bothered to re-license it. Might be able to find an old tape flying around. I've been trying to remember this one for years too. What tweaked show'd they had on when we were kids. Speaking of which, does anyone remember that show (also live action) with the rip-off R2-D2 crossed with Mork, that lived with an old man in (I think) San Francisco?
17. That is actually an interesting thought, did they bother to have it animted widescreen.... And why exactly if there have been screenings, have there been "zero" reviews anywhere?
18. Oh come on, this will be the best POS since the sentinels. I can't wait to slap this beside it, and laugh at whatever new crumbling cat robots they've added to this. And better yet, how exactly did Tommy Yune go from fanboy to director in 5 years? This will be pure comedy gold!
19. Yes, Bandai would still have had the rights. Takatoku were only selling rights to use their molds, not rights to their whole design, that is until they went under/Bandai bought them up. Bandai would still own what they own, as they had much more money than HG.
20. Deja vu...
21. He defeats a LOT of varuta pilots, though. Sure it's non-lethal, but he still removes them from combat. 421250 Not to mention he's the only one capable of dealing with the Protodevelin.
22. You don't suppose they're going to do some kind of uber top 1 & 2 box set are you....that'd be insane, and I'd gladly pay $200 for it!
23. And that's exactly why those toy's wound up at the Kay-Bee's bargin bin.
24. Yes, it was broken up, there's also a music video remix version of Tank, and some artwork galleries.
