David, what did Dragon do wrong with the Strike Eagle? Anything major?
In short.
No sensor pod.
No pylons on the CFTs. ***
*** Biggest difference between a F-15D and a E(strike) was the pylons to carry all the exploding bits.
If they had fitted the pylons correctly and put some bombs with the box it would have been one of the greatest die-casts ever released. But too bad.
I see. Damn, and I thought just buying those extra bomb packs would fix everything. But drop tanks would've been awesome.
BTW Dobber, I think Dragon is working on an F-14, but they're just taking their sweet time with it.
Oh dear God I hope so . I have the Dragon F/A-18 "Chippy Ho" can't think of which year but it is the weathered one. I think it looks great BTW, much better then the standard releases. I also have a Dragon F-16C "Fighter Weapons school". Dragon Rocks!!! A Tomcat next to them would be magnificent. Don't have any Corgi yet, But I am considering getting a 1/32 mustang from them. Also got 3 mustangs from Dragon and they are BEAUTIFUL!

I'll post some pictures of the 22 and the Su-35 once the Raptor arrives. I wish Dragon would release an F-14.

I believe that the Sea Flankers are already out. I think there are 3 versions of it. Yup I got the 35. I saw it available on Flying mule and talked my wife into letting me get it because it is so hard to get ahold of!

Hey everybody, Gaincorp just released this 1/72 Raptor. Gaincorps quality isn't too bad, I own a Su-35 from them, hope the Raptor is good I'm waiting for it to be delivered. Sorry can't post a picture, but you can check them out at flyingmule.com.

I still want to see a good shot of it from the side in fighter mode to see if it is any more streamlined. Those intakes were just way too big before.

Did any of you guys notice that the legs need to be rotated for battroide mode?
In the fighter mode, you only see one fin nozzle on top and two fin nozzles in the bottom.
Yup, I realized that when I built my SV-51. However, the legs don't rotate for Gerwalk mode...just Battroid mode. Thus, I think this makes it impossible for the SV-51 to transform to or out of Battroid mode while on the ground, unlike the VF-0 or VF-1. That could be bad in a pinch for the pilot.

The DD SV-51 is now being released in Oct.!!! Sweet!

Also, is the first person mode the same as the one in the PS2 demo? Because that one was an over the shoulder ghost helmet view not a true first person view? Gamespot said that the game is improved upon the version that they played....not sure if that means the demo that we got with the PS2 magazine.

What's the best bang for your buck guys?
I can either get the PC or PS2 version?
I'm with you, I'd like to know as well. Gamespot said that the PC and Xbox versions would obviously be faster with less lag but that the PS2 version was most surprising...whatever that means?

Do you guys know if themusic played in part 1 when Shin wakes up on the island is on this release. I'm pretty sure it came from the Count of Monte Cristo...the verry begining when they are rowin to shore, much the same way the Klendathu theme was also used.
Chris
Yeah, it's been a while since I last listened to it, but I'm sure the music that plays while he's at the island in the first Episode is present. Why wouldn't it be?
Actually, no it's not on OST-1.

Has it been stated that this will be live action TV? Everyone is assuming it will be, but perhaps it will be animation/Anime. Didn't Lucas just start up or is starting up an animation studio in Hong Kong? If so, it really leaves the door open to pick up where Jedi left off and possibly have the original cast or at least most of them to just do the voices. That way the characters won't look too old. Just a thought.

Well, I could be the one in the minority I'm not a big fan of pink on Planes I remember in some thread a while ago, people were photo-shopping The Sv-51 using different color variations of Nora's scheme. Some of those where pretty darn sweet!!
Chris
Like the "Blue Angels" colours? That was awesome
Yeah, that ws the thread!

I'll probably just start a new thread and post some pics of the Roy 0S with it, I'm really happy with that one as well. It'll take a few days before I get around to it though due to work.

Me too. Doing a custom 1A with the bunny and then the Low-Vis Skull on the VF-0B. Just Finished my VF-0S and finally that custom SV-51 I was working on a few months ago...I know you where one of the people who appreciated that one!

My opinion is that hasegawa hurt their own sales for the SV-51 by releasing the Nora version first. I don't think many people are too crazy about that color scheme. Don't know if the Nora kit bombed or not but I got the kit and made it with a custom paint job. They should've released DD's version first then released Nora/standard version together. Just my opinion though.

Well the original series is on DVD. However the 2003 mini series hasnt been released yet for us R1ers. I really don't understand why....not only does the rest of the world have it on DVD but the Sky network in the UK is getting the series in Oct. the US won't get to see it until Jan!

To answer many quotes and comments.
1. The music was designed to take a minimalist approach. To give it more of a serious, docu-drama feel. I also own the soundtrack and it really does grow on you. Nothing much stands out while you watch, but after listening to just the music you really start finding the peices you really like....and yes there are drums and they rock!!! This series is trying to avoid the space opera image.
2. The series IS going to take a more desperate approach to what is happening to the survivors, ie, What are they going to do for food, fuel, and munitions. The series is going to start right where the mini left off. The jubilation that was felt after thier escape wears off and now the fear and hopelessness start to creep back.
3. As for the design of the new Galactica. Galactica.tv forums has had lengthy discussions(spelling) on it. In short, She's supposed to look ribbed, something to do with how it can obsorb more damage....the techno people there rival the people here in thier discussions!! If you are interested you should check out the site.
4. Thankfully the series will NOT be doing the planet of the week approach that most sci-fi does. I think that if they happen to find Aliens it'll be a big deal...as it would be to us.
5. There was only a region 2 release on DVD. Still no release date for the R1 release. There are rumors that it'll be released in Nov. before the series premiere in Jan. It's said to be remastered copy of the Mini since I've heard the R2 quality is OK. It's also supposed to have more extras such as deleted scenes.
Just a big fan of the mini and I'm really looking forward to the series. I agree with what most of you guys have said. It's some of the Best sci-fi to come around in a long while I'm glad to see people here giving it a chanse now. When it first came out most people here TRASHED it.

Is this a new one or something different different from the other Medal of Honor game set in the Pacific?
I'm not sure which one you are talking about... there are a lot of variants but this link should help: http://www.eagames.com/official/moh/pacificassault/us/
He's refering to Medal of Honor Rising Sun. I'd alsolike to know if there will be a PS2 or Gamecube version.

Just wondering if anyone got this model or is planning on getting it. I'm curiouse just how "different" it is. I know they say the lighting system and the paint schemes are improved/different. Also it has decal options, just curious how different it really is

I agree with you Shin. Just remove the landing gear and make her sleeker!! I never bought the originals because I thought that it was the most god awful looking thing. The legs/intake portion particularly. They were just way too fat.
