  1. Actually Starship troopers was based on Enders Game universe which was written decades ago, and one of the first sci-fi novels that I read.

Get your facts straight. I know that marvel did an adaption of it recently............ But check into stuff first

    wait, what? :o

did you really just wrote that in all seriousness?

  2. Thanks for the tips guys! I got the Max DYRL version, which I heard was rumored to be safe in terms of shoulders. Anyways, I got the thing to transform, and its a bit easier now, and I was able to move the arms and position them the way I like in GERWALK mode. Unfortunately, one of my landing gear doors is a bit loose, but that is no real biggie.

    Really fun model though!

they're really even more awesome being posed on yammie-stands! :D

  3. Ok guys, so I got my order of my first 1/60 VF-1. What I noticed after taking it out of the box though, is that it is insanely tight! Like it took me 20 minutes just to pull out one of the feet. Is this general with new 1/60's or is my copy just incredibly tight?

That's pretty normal for most of us. You're just not used to it, yet, but you'll get used to it soon.

Secondly, how do you guys manage to move around and angle the arms in GERWALK mode? It just seems as though I can't really angle them outward nor can I really move them around freely due to the wing obstructions. Any ideas?

    eh?

not sure what you're talking about, but you can check out the pics from the manual first. just don't force nor rush anything on it. relax and figure out how and what needs to be turned and stuff.

that said, there are prolly several vids from Graham and the others on how to handle your valk and stuff.

  4. well, rather than being scared of "radiation" crap, reckon you oughta be more scared about the horrid exchange-rate and any sudden jacking up of prices of importing from there.

you never know. they might try to actually sell them "radioactive" stuff as "extremely limited editions, with free tentacles!"...

    :D

  5. The place locally, has it for $175. I won't have a chance to drop by until later this week, so I hope they still have some by then.

well, with the current hlj-sale and at the current exchange-rate (Yen->US$), the 0A will cost close to near US$140ish shipped using EMS (give or take US$5).

  6. Hi all.

I have found a local store that may have the VF-0S. From reading the different posts that the reissue VF-0A has a different box than the first edition. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any posts that there may be a different box, or box art for the VF-0S reissue. Is there any way of identifying the VF-0S reissue from just looking at the box?

    Thanks.

how much exactly is the pricing of the VF-0S that you found?

  7. So correct me if I'm wrong but the history or the mechs in Frontier goes like this, the plans for the YF-24 spawns the VF-25 from Frontier and the VF-27 from Galaxy. Which in turn the engineers from Frontier take what they learn from the the VF-25, the optional upgrade of the Tornado pack and perhaps the VF-27 to create the prototype YF-29? So does this mean that perhaps the engineers from Galaxy could also improve the VF-27 and come out with a evolution/upgrade of a fighter themselves?

well, it kinda went like this:

Bandai's got a bunch of discarded and unusable Gundam parts and wanted them reused/recycled/re-sold as long as they're not called "Gundam", so they contacted Kawamori...

srsly, tho. shouldn't you really be asking that in the Movies and TV Series section?

  8. :sigh:

just as the US$-Yen exchange-rate moved back up to last week's early 80s from the insane 70s yesterday, hlj's sale-price/discount-rate then goes down minus 2% in response...

well, purchase yer stuff now before the sale-price become any more irritating to let the scalpers win. if you still got some money to spare, of course...

  9. wtf, HASBRO?!

why are you flooding/carpet-bombing all the b&m's with skullgrin???!!!

sh*t! as you can tell, folks, ain't nothing purchase-worthy this week in my area.

all the pegs on the Target's, Wally's, and TRU's in my area from my recent walkabout are filled up to overflowing with Hasbro's favorite shelfwarmer Skullgrin.

    wtf, Hasbro! F-U!

  10. augh!

can't believe i'm actually agonizing on this sale.

already bought the Ghost and the damn overpriced foldildo.

now i'm getting the urge to get the M&Ms, 0A, Max/Kaki TV, and Max/Kaki DYRL, too.

    ARRRGGGHHH!!!

    must. stay. strong...

you know, i'm still a bit weirded out that the yf-21 is still pricey. it doesn't even come with the stand anymore. :sigh:

if hlj put the YF-21 under 7k-y, i will snag it right away.

  11. Looks like a good time to pick up the 1/60 Vermillion squad not to mention the 1/60 VF-0A and Ghost available. Sure would look nice against my Nora and Roy Fokker with Ghost. If there was an Ivanov on sale I would sooo be on that like a fat kid with a cupcake.

Probably, but the shipping cost is still a bitch to consider when purchasing such a collection.

fwiw, I haven't seen the Ivanov restocked at HLJ.

  12. Well, had Roy's Zero-S on the yammie-block for awhile now and it's holding up rather well even tho Zero's rather a bit heavy actually (compared to my other valks).

Still, I'm a little leery of the peg-socket sliding to the side on its own coz of Zero's weight, so I'll prolly replace him onto my Yammie-Arm when it finally gets here and then put my YF-19 on the yammie-block instead since it's lighter.

As such, I don't have the Ghost to do the add-on, (well, not yet), but I think it'll be interesting to know if the Yammie-Block can actually hold up the Zero+Ghost combo weight.

Nevertheless, here's my Roy-Zero chasing Nora pic. Ever the ladies' man, I say...

  13. welp! just an update on the tf retail-hunt...

just verified that two Target near me now have stocks of the RTS-line such as Jazz, Perceptor, and Tracks. As well as the usual Prime, Lugnut, and Bumblebee.

as for Wally's, I actually saw a few Blurr on their pegs last weekend.

so check your nearest b&m for them if you haven't gotten them, yet.

However, still no sightings of Wheeljack, Wreck-Gar, and Grappel. Not sure if Warpath's supposed to be out already.

  14. heads up!

The Stampede seems to be on-sale this week.

Target has it locally (not online) at $39.99

while Amazon has it at $35.58 with free shipping.

not sure how much it is from TRU and wally's, tho.

btw, can the Raider have the drum-mag (or any compatible mag for it) installed on the right-side instead of the default left-side? without any modding, of course.

  15. We are going to have to agree, to disagree. Ponder this:

    1. BL would have to gain probably 50 lbs to even make the minimum weight class. He has the bodymass of a 10 year old girl.

    2. He is fast because he is so light, which looks great on camera, but not practical in actual fighting (do not argue with this, if this weren't true then weight classes wouldn't exist)

    3. BL movies sped up the camera! Its not real time, they showed the fighting scenes faster to make it more impressive. Watch Sean Connery in an old Bond movie, he has lightening fast speed too, because if increased camera speed.

BL is a great ACTOR in action films, nothing more.

Following your line of logic, is Arnold the greatest swordsman to ever live because of his showing in Conan?

Uhmm, even wikipedia have several documented entries regarding Bruce Lee's actual fights (non-film) during his lifetime, so... :p

  16. The way he fights is for show. Nothing he ever did has been effective in MMA. MMA has shown the world that most effective martial art in the cage/ring is american wrestling.

    Lol! That's really funny, A-One.

Srsly, tho. Everyone would have love to watch Bruce Lee fight in the octagon of the MMA.

However, had he lived, I just don't think Bruce Lee will be that desperate enough to join that kind of violent circus.

    Maybe Chuck Norris instead?
