  1. Can you be more specific that how much more detail were you expected?

Did you wanted more panel lines? More decal markings? More articulations?

We tried to keep it simple, and low costs to produce these items.

Any of these additional paintings, or tampo printings reflect the cost of making and eventually more cost for buyers.

We tried to keep $25 retail price for this item, and this is the best we can do.

If you were looking for super articulated ABS and die-cast toy, then it's a whole different category.

    honestly, dude.

The old JoyRide MadCat-II figure has got significant diecast, mini-pilot, canopy-door, and stickers. Not to mention swiveling and other articulations to make some damn nice poses.

All for $20 back in '03. Even the DIY-version of it was $20.

I'm not sayin', but I'm just sayin'.

  2. so I saw Bludgeon today and I just wasn't convinced that he's worth the $20 wally's is asking for him.

maybe $7. definitely not worth more than $10.

    :sigh:

anyway, there's also BeachComber and some forklift guy on the ROTF two-fer. BeachComber was a bit interesting, tho. A repaint of DuneRunner, but seems to be just compatible with the Classics. Just kinda weird he's got dual triple-barrels for such a laid-back G1 character. the forklift-dude was meh.

nothing else on the TF aisle except those moronic SW-TF crossovers.

guess i'll just have to wait for Peg and Thrust, and those new combiners.

  3. Just picked up Wal-Mart MP Skywarp. One of three on the shelf. Is it my lucky day or is this guy not selling well?

    tough to say.

it was a sticker-shock at $60 at first. there were plenty on the shelves on the first week.

then afterwards (second week and beyond), it was all gone from the three wally's I go to.

    I couldn't find it for my nephew's x'mas present.

  4. well, i just received my Rifleman aka Destroid Defender today.

i tell yah, this guy really ain't worth the full price, much less at half-price. but oh well. just gotta have it. i take comfort that i got it during the previous sale.

since I'm pretty meh on the Phalanx, this Defender will likely be my last destroid until Yamato decides to make the Spartan.

unless, of course, them colored (OD/KG) versions goes on a sweet sale. B))

    a couple of pics...

  5. nice... still prefer it in fighter mode... i like the pilot sculpt, very relaxed pose...

although, in battroid, Yamato's Milia VF-22S can get away w/ those skinny legs and little feet... since it is a girlie valk :p .

does it really have that pinkish red color or is it just the lighting?

    Girly valk?????!!?

    ayup.

    check it out:

  6. I think the $40 MP-Skywarp was an online-only offer.

Heck! They've upped it to $50 now online-only, too.

btw, for Silverbolt, I was actually just price-checking it since I thought it was put there in the bargain-aisle by mistake. Well, turns out it wasn't a mistake.

In contrast, there's a bunch of ROTF-figures in the $10 bargain-aisle, which I think is a huge mistake as these figures are really worth no more than $5.

Also, kinda weird that Red Powerglide went up to $30 again after being discounted to $25 just last month.

    edit:

just couldn't resist gerwalkin' SB. he's actually got surprisingly good balance. prolly better gerwalkin' than the Bandai DX VF25s. B))

  7. Thanks everyone! In fact I made two mistakes asaik now:

rotating the cockpit (thanks for reminding)

and sliding up the back thrusters in some pictures. Please let me know if I still miss out some! I don't know the 22s as well as the vf-1.

dude, could you take some more snaps and stuff with the cockpit rotated in battroid mode?

  8. it's nice and all, but it really does need a heatshield.

also, Yamato should've employed the rotating-seat feature from M0, so that Miriya (and Max) wouldn't be facing awkwardly down when the VF-22's in battroid-mode.

oh, and yeah. Milia-pilot needs to have boobies like Nora-pilot.

  9. Road Buster Ultra Magnus? I prefer the original color scheme, but still not a bad find for $20. Word on the street is that Japan will be getting the Animated toy line next year to go along with the series broadcast. Does this mean better paint apps and blinged out chrome on the TFA figs we've already bought? Considering the comparisons between the Henkei and Classics lines I say yes. Would I buy those toys again? No way. However, if Ultra Magnus gets gets a better color scheme (i.e. true white instead of grey) with the Japanese version, I'd be willing to buy it again.

Now I can only wonder if TFA will get extended episodes with the Japanese broadcast...

yeah. not bad at all for $20. i'm not really a TFA-fan, but this UM is a really great toy. I never saw the original TFA-UM on wally's shelves, but this Road-Buster version is fine enough and the pricing is sweet.

I'm not that hot on the new colors, but it has grown on me rather quick.

the only thing I'd like it to have added is waist/waist-swivel, so the upper-body will have some better poses!

  10. For those who is wondering, I have just received my order confirmation from HLJ on the sales:

    Merchandise Total: ¥69,790

    Shipping Charge: Not Yet Determined

    Total: ¥69,790

    My blood is cooked....

    geezus!

and no shipping-cost, yet, too.

in contrast, i have to cancel my single order coz of the crappy exchange-rate.

    oh, well.
