if only Bandai will unscrew its head from its ass for a bit, so that we can officially have a Mirage armour release from them...

wonder if yamarcadia missiles will also work with it...

well, tinted-canopy is kinda moot issue since this item does not even have a pilot-figure in both the PR shots and the specs list:

guess it's a drone...

These really need more paint apps but I'm in.
The "Erdspinne" grunts definitely should've been alot darker that I kinda question Takara's Toyrise-mindset a bit since all their previous Votoms lines all have had anime-correct colors.
Which then brings me to this, uhh, abomination:

Erdspinne Titania Machine Ver. (Takara Tomy Mall Exclusive)
What and why the ever-mudder-f*ck is that hideously pink coloring???
Titania's Erdspinne was quite a nice light/drab purple yam in the Alone Again ova:
Hopefully that's not the final product and that Takara regain their proper coloring-sense again before release...
/facepalm

btw, here's the official Takara page for it:

I stand corrected! So there is a Birkoff Squad & a Reeman Squad?.... and an Unknown Red Shoulder squad? That's going to be expensive in the Hi-Metal R line!!! Bring it on! 🤗
and a Vorct Squad!? 😱
Yeah.
In the Origins/Roots of Ambition ova, Reeman's Squad uses regular AT-STs with 6-tube missile launcher and a custom spike weapon for Reeman's AT-ST.
In the Unknown Red Shoulder ova, Gregore's squad uses a 7-tube missile launcher on their ST-TCs
In Pailsen Files ova, Berkoff's squad uses a 12-tube missile launcher in both their regular army AT-STs and their ISS Black ST-TCs. Both have the updated biceps-detail, too.
It'll be very impressive if Bandai can produce and sell the complete Pailsen Files ATs this time around in HMR, instead of just the regular AT-ST and Ground Fatty from their old 1/20 model kit line.
Takara completed the Pailsen Files ATs in their Actic Gear line, in contrast...

btw, wasn't the 25G that carried the speakers?
as such, that FA-18 valk doodle doesn't quite look anything like a VF-25F, even if you squint hard.
Bandai should've just made Kawamori's VF-18M a reality instead...

First off, I'm not a fan of Delta anime. At all.
That said, recently got a rather heavily-discounted VF-31AX Mirage a month or so ago. About 8k-yen only coz of a supposedly "cracked" horn, but it ain't a big deal. Think the previous owner was just way too anal about the minor "crack".
As such, didn't really thought much about it other than to give my lonely Hayate-31AX a partner since I already have the VF-31C/J partnership also.
Once I got it and stuff, I actually really felt a great liking to Mirage's 31AX that I didn't have with the Hayate. Somehow, even with the corny horn (cracked or not) and stuff, it really is a much nicer 31AX and much better to be side-by-side with the VF-31C:
Unfortunately, the fitment issue is really bothering me. Guess I just really don't care about the Hayate having the same issue, but somehow, the issue bothers me alot more on the Mirage-31AX:
It. just. won't. stay. flushed.
:sigh:
friggin' Bandai...

Not sure why everyone is complaining about it being not a VF-1 based on the F-14...
This is literally the scheme of the F/A-18 from the recent sequel. And the VF-25 is heavily based on the F/A-18. Nakamura Yuichi also voiced Alto and dubbed over Tom Cruise. The jp fans are actually hyped about the voice actor reference of this.
They obviously can't sell VF-1 under the Macross name where the Top Gun branding is targeted for. And It's also a common pop culture convention to get collaboration rights for the most recent title from the guest IP. They are also clearly targeting young western fans of the new movie, and not hoping boomer followers of the original to suddenly change their habbits and go out of their way to find marketing of this release and start collecting japanese toys.
That's not quite what I'm getting from gleaning the comments on Twitter about it:
https://twitter.com/t_features/status/2038873935316480311
here's a partial snapshots of the web-translated comments so far:
And yea, the F-14 still turned out to be the hero-jet of TG:Maverick. The comments above make it seem the jp-fans are also much aware of that fact.

As of this posting, if you live in mainland japan, you can now get this DX with free delivery at 15,400y...
However, most of us here are not mainland jp residents...

Yeah, curious as to why Bandai chose the VF-25. Aesthetically, VF-0 or VF-1 would've been more apt. Sales for the most recent VF-25 releases doesn't seem all that great esp. the 25G and non-canon schemes
It is kind of a headscratcher for Bandai to be directly homaging TopGun:Maverick with a DX VF-25F instead of...
- the DX VF-1 since it is based on the F-14 and all, but barring some licensing-shenanigans again, how about..
- the DX YF-19 since Macross Plus has always been associated with Top Gun in the west and no weirdo licensing-shenanigans issue anymore with it.
As for the VF-0, tho quite more apt after the VF-1, unfortunately, Bandai has not made a DX version of it.
As such, all I can think of is that Bandai has a rather tremendous over-supply of overproduced and unsold DX VF-25F frames due to the Revival and MWW sales failure. Painting and selling these as "TG:Maverick" stuff maybe a hail mary pass to still get some ok ROI, at least...

btw, it's now been discounted to 16,800y new with free delivery, if you're a JP-resident that is:

It is already going for like 110 usd. I totally see it going like 10 or 20 usd lower seeing how poorly the VF-19 is doing supposedly being one of the most popular valks in Japan
Yet amz-jp is scalping higher shipping-fees for it than their own YF-21 offering if you're importing to the US, at least:
frickin' bizarro.
at any rate, Hacchaka review is up:

Other online chatter are saying the legs are such that the triangles on the thighs act as buttons to unlock whole leg from the hip.Except for the whole right-side arm/limb section, it seems.
That's quite a weird design decision...
