  1. I think I'm locking the swing bar fine. I'm more worried about it doing the splits since it's on a glass shelf. And like your review states, it's a bit top heavy so I ended up keeping all my 22s and the 21 in fighter mode even though they take up more space that way.

Afaik and from the old 22s-thread, only the Milia-22 (2nd-ed or later) was known/reported here to do the "split" coz of some material defect in the hip/leg peg black thingy that tightens up the joint.

Not sure if the first-gen Milia-22 does it, tho.

  2. why cant their shipping sales coincide with their macross sales? :(

    your wish comes true.... :)

well, if you're talking about the ems-sale, then not so sure about that.

currently, the EMS-sale seems to require you to get an item from their specific ems-campaign sale-page.

    also, the EMS-sale currently states:

IMPORTANT: Due to weight and size restrictions, larger orders may be split into multiple shipping boxes. The 2,000 yen shipping rate will be charged per box, not per order. Example: If a large single order must be shipped in two boxes, the total shipping charged will be 4,000 yen (2,000 yen x 2). Please note that we cannot make estimates about whether particular orders will fit into a single shipping box, or provide details on our various box sizes. For very rough estimate purposes, the largest shipping box the postal service will accept measures 82cm x 57cm x 44cm, and can weigh up to 30kg. These limits are lower for some countries.

so, i guess, just be careful...

fwiw, i hope the exchange-rate gets better before this current Macross-sale ends.

or i may have to wait for their spring-2012 sale instead. -_-

  3. It’s not the first red sample I’ve seen:

    photo06.jpg

    I don't think that's a red VF-17. :p

    edit:

anyway, found a website (your's or some other MW-member?) that stated Yammie did put out a clarification that the red vf-17 in the pics is not the Milia-variant:

    http://www.mech9.com...-dengeki-hobby/

    yamato's tweet: http://twitter.com/y...726331670405120

so it'll always be just the display/pictorial prop.

  4. I MUST have those VF-22s!!!

    damn, dude!

    where the heck were you?

they've been on the perennial discounted-sale at hlj regularly for the longest time this year and last year.

if you're not gonna take Jenius' offer, might as well wait for the annual HLJ macross winter-sale.

    ---

btw, do we have confirmation that Yamato will definitely make and sell the Miila-17 or is it gonna be just a forever-prop like the old 1/60 Monster?

  5. I won't say my buddies at TD may represent the target audience of Yamato, which should be the local Japanese. Nonetheless, suppose they are a good reference as Hong Kong, while is under China territory, more resembles the Japanese market than the north America or other parts of the world, in terms of culture (we grew up watching jap animes on TV), buying power (both the price of those merchanises and dispensable income), and that they are dedicated toy fans (and especially Macross).

Most of they wouldn't get it on day 1 because of the price. Once it gets a price slash I think many of them will bite the bullet.

i reckon most of you fans of there in HK also don't have to pay the exorbitant shipping-costs that us fans over here have to always seriously consider.

  6. hmm.

the only macross-toy I bought that was truly meh was...

The Yamato Launch Arm Display Stand .

It was way overpriced when it was first introduced, and still overpriced even on sale-price.

This chunk of meh was just...meh. Reasons:

    • The clamps don't clamp and are pretty much damn useless and wasteful. It can't hold a valk with FP like what we all saw in DYRL. Which is just damn stupid since that's the main (if not the only) purpose of the clamps!
    • no adaptor-support for the VF-22 battroid-adaptor. srsly! wtf, right?!
    • Did I mentioned they're too damn overpriced even at sales-price?

    what's up with that, yamato-toys?!

  7. Aw c'mon, you can't seriously stick to that argument. You should just laugh and move on. People were picking the Bandai chunky monkey and the Toynami MPC over the Yamato V1. I remember at least one member praising the 1/48 when it came out (was it Exo?) saying that they passed on all previous incarnations because THIS was the VF-1 toy they were waiting for. Again, you can completely unravel your statement by changing the order in which toy you're talking about. Both toys were totally surpassed by subsequent releases... and both toys had people pass and wait for subsequent releases, nothing strange there.

    uhh, dude.

you're just really making stuff up now with that bolded part.

how could you even dare say with a straight face that anybody here picked the MPC over the yammie-v1???

i don't even remember you here in this forum back when the yamato-v1 was introduced and all of us bought it and made the 1/55's over-inflated cost and value dropped like a lead balloon faster than speedy gonzales.

not even sure why you're even mentioning the 1/48 since it's not even the same scale and released far after the yammie-v1.

don't we have some timeline stuff here in the forum?
