    I just realized I haven't even watched with subs yet. Ah well, I'll eventually get around to it. Ever since the flashback episode I can't help but think it would have been cool if if part of this series had been about the formation of Walkure. If they had spent the first few episodes with the story they showed in the flashback episode and then had their first successful tactical concert be a nice payoff from everything that they went through before. The question of the first few episodes would have been "does this concept even make sense?" with a few promising signs and here and there but no outright successes. Then after they figure out how to make it work you delve into the mystery of the Var, reveal the areal Knights at about the halfway point as some more menacing antagonists before giving them a bit more depth right before the lead up to the finale. Of course with this version you would probably have Kaname as the main protagonist with Arad and Messer rounding out the triangle. Freiyja and Hayate would have ended up as side characters who join up later, with their own little triangle going on in the background.

    smh I'm pretty somewhat familiar with the VF-9's transformation process but I'm not sure what exactly you're referring to here. Care to elaborate?

    I mentioned this in the Mecha and Tech thread but I would love to see a series that pits the latest and greatest Earth forces fighters against the latest and greatest colony fighters. They could even have it centre around some kind of airshow or competition, until the real conflict breaks out. But for Christ' sake give both sides believable motivations.

    This episode wasn't too bad. It had some nice moments. I don't know if my expectations have just been adjusted properly but it wasn't as bad as I've come to expect. I still find Frejya and Hayate's dynamic pretty heartwarming as well, and good to see Hopefully the finale will at least be entertaining. Yea, of all the complaints I have about Delta, the character design isn't one of them

    Cap's childhood friendship with Bucky Barnes is no secret. There's an exhibit at the smithsonian about it after all. The info on Bucky actually being the Winter Soldier is something he would have found out from decrypting the SHIELD/Hydra files Widow released The footage was at the base in Siberia. So the answer is, by the time he had it, Stark and Cap had already shown up

    You must not follow Western TV much if you don't think Western audiences do the exact same thing. There are lots of super successful shows over here that are riddled with plotholes. I think it's less about Japanese versus Western and more about specific demographics or groups.

    I can't point to sources, but I remember people in the know on this forum citing interviews where the creators stated the tone of the series would shift drastically. But that was stated to be from episode to episode, so I was jokingly referencing that as them warning us about the dip in quality.

    And the sad part is, I still think the concept behind them is actually really cool. They had the potential to be some of the most badass antagonists in a Macross series. I mean, a whole team of enemy combatants with the approximate threat level of Brera? A disgruntled humanoid race with a feudal era culture who are scrappy and resourceful enough to pose a threat to the NUNS (or at least smart enough to stay under their radar until it's too late to stop them)? So much potential

    I'd say Delta was worth it if we end up getting A DX Chogokin VF-22 out of it. Can't wait to see Hayate have the VF-22 go battroid and breakdance his way out of the castle

    Chuck's valk looks damn sexy there. Wasn't really a fan before but yea. I guess seeing it actually doing something works wonders. Who knew?

    Maybe. But didn't the same happen with Hayate the first time he lost control? Haha true. I was thinking it would make some sense with a BDI based interface. But I don't think the SV-262s have that do they?

    Also, does anyone else find it weird that valks turn off their engines as soon as their pilots lose consciousness? Is that a deliberate design?
