  1. *jaw drops at his VF-25 Messiah Girl*

Ya know, Poli... i don't think i've complimented you on alll those V-gals, i've clip-arted in the past couple years...

i should correct that, RIGHT ABOUT..... Now? ^_^

  2. i dun understand. did it say POISON?

    i saw 639 WITCH CRAFT

    it is mean poison?

maybe you can solve scoobydoo mysteries, you are so good.

    please log off.

    you are screwing us.

i think the point of the name on the pill was to imply it WASN'T Motrin XL or 300 mg's of Asprin. Enough with the slander otherwise, ladies...

Well, my take of Grace's actions is very Jihadist in nature (certainly something new to Macross: Muslim tendicies for self-invicted irrational violence)...

^_^ Fun fun fun (oh and your VF-171 battroid action: 10 to 1 when the Battroid turns, he gets it, blows up and ALTO flies through it's wreckage... Sorry. once CF, always CF...)

  3. Hi everybody... long time lurker, first time poster here. I just HAD to say something about the survival of kamjin. I think that so long as *enough* of the individual survives to provide genetic material, Zentran cloning tech can get the job done. If the individual's brain survives (more the better) the new clone could potentially receive a fair portion of the original's memory and personality, even though the clone wouldn't necessarily be consciously aware of that fact. all that is required that the chemical layers that make up the original memory are still coherent enough to be read.

Ive come to the conclusion that Zentran (mi)cloning tech works alot like the jump cloning tech in EVE online - basically a clone is created, and the original donor is destroyed, during which time the entire 'data' contents of the brain are transmitted to the clone in such a way that the transition is effectively instantaneous - it would have to be. the principal differences are that zentran cloning is apparently limited in range to the clone chamber itself and that there can only ever be ONE copy/version of the individual in existence at a time (possibly due to issues with quantum entanglement or something similar), whereas in EVE the consciousness of the individual can be transferred over effectively any distance, and there can be a number of copies in existence simultaneously (although only one can be 'awake' at a time... all the sleepers are stored in cans ^^).

granted I am comparing tech from a game to tech from an anime here, but it makes sense.

Regardless, of who or how this Kamjin-Clone is to the story line, it's more proof that all isn't well in the Macross Universe...

but we're assuming the appaerent rebellion is martial in nature and not political. This could be much more...

or just a one shot to show some VF vs Zentran mecha action... even with the gender bending mecha...

  4. So any new news on:

    - Whether the VF-171 squad leader will make an appearance in the anime?

there probably won't be. Simply because the VF-171 are CF, plus unlike SMS which might have only a few elements that make up a couple squadrons total (If not considered a composite squadron with the Q-L's, the KM and all the VF-25's under one hat), the NUSN probably has dozens of individual squadrons & wings, for each carrier in the fleet (assuming the NUNS is organised via Naval Avaition rules. Macross has always been translated, to me, to mirror AF rank structure...)

It would make sence to go navy but either way, the NUNS is very complicated numerically...

  5. Only for still shots. Much like true Hollywood SFX, you would only need it if you need to have something planted in the ground and you need a correct shadow or prop to base it on. Action sequences don't need it since the object is in motion, but for still sequences like the beach scene where the object is not a background image, then they would need a prop.

you of course are assuming that the entire Zero series was filmed. if this is the story of Sara & Shin, perhaps from the POV of Mao & survivers... then the whole movie might look a hella lot different (since Mao never met Roy Fokker nor Nora or DD or anyone else from UN Spacy save the SH-60B crew, the infantry squad (or could they have been marines? the Destroid pilots on Asuka were...) and later, the destroid pilots on the island when the octo's attacked....

or not. I forget that in foreign languages, marine means navy, example spanish and italian naval militaries. does marine equat to navy in japanesse, thus why the pilot shin duels on the Asuka in Eps 2 is referd to Sea-grunt or something?...

    whut eva. ^_^

  6. Yeah, but I'm not really going for the complete synopsis thing. I'm trying to concentrate more on the review itself rather than a play by play.

/me growls. PLAY. By. PLAY. you do!

cause you make the most sence in describing the what nots of any particular episode (though you've not mentioned any of the leon-teh-spy bits *Whips!* get to work, Synobise-Slave! ^_^

/me casts Empowered, Heightened, Extented Snow Cones on everyone else

  7. Now using the eyecatch tune for my ringtone.

    Graham

that's all fine... but i still don't understand how to get these songs from here online to my phone...

what's the mechanics to do send these files from here to my phone? do i email them to the phone number?

  8. I'm just doing gg for now, I'll get gattai later and keep the better of the two. However as to my earlier statement on the download speed, it seems to be going back and forth, one minute it is going at 30 kb/s or so, then over 100 later, then back down to 30, so who knows when this will be done for me....
Master Dex, i just thought of something. make you avatar a gif, with the full head camera glancing up briefly and then reverse it for the loop...
  9. OT: Wow, I came here to read about other people's opinion on the episode and I find an almost completely hijacked thread, what a shame. Why are you people posting such incredible nonsense in this thread !? what's with the ''Ranka's protution'' talk, can't you see it's just the dress !? How did we end up speculating whether Sheryl or Ranka were transexuals? I mean, Richard Vilra = Breetai ? Rick F***ing Hunter ? WTF is going on here !?

I sound like a total a-hole here, ruining the party and all. Sure, we're free to express ourselves as we like, but it's getting a bit out of hand. I know it's just in the spirit of good comedy (I hope), but it's not just getting stupid, it's also OT. Don't want to argue with anyone, I just wanted express my concern (whine).

    Back to episode 7:

First, I'll have to eat my own words, Brera Sterne IS A GUY. I'm not entirely surprised, with all the other bishonen looking characters in the show... It would've been interesting to have Alto go against a female antagonist tough (maybe an homage to M0).

I'll have to say I'm with the Duke on this one. I suspect the VF-27 is a secretly developed NUNS fighter, working on the shadows in an effort to gather data on the Vajra, for what purpose ? that's to anyone's imagination, maybe he's working directly under Vilra/Leon and they want to control the Vajra. Maybe it's actually anti-un or a rough NUNS faction trying another coup d’état, who knows... It was pretty clear that Sterne didn't want to be detected by anyone in the battlefield, maybe that's why he didn't help Luka immediately (It just wasn't his concern to save him, or he actually wanted to see what the Vajra would do to him), however, I'm still curious about the reason for shooting luka's gunpod, maybe he was preventing Alto from triggering something or it was just him being cautious about Alto reacting aggressively towards him.

Bottom line is, this episode was great, possibly one of the best episodes so far and a memorable experience. My only complain was the sudden Aquarion deja vu i got from Macross Quarter's transformation sequence and the visual effect of it's canon, I kind of miss the whole ''Zentradi battleship exploding from within + surface bubbles effect''

it's just... this episode (besides generating massive amounts of mecha jizz ^_^ ) generated tones of WTF? to a sheer volume... to generally drive the topic bus into oncoming traffic...

*sigh* Wish my bro was around... i'd bury his ear in OMG-WTF-XPlain! commentary... pretty sure he'd hate (He was a Moony and Ranma 1/2 fiend) :o:(

  10. I have inverted the colours of the image to have a better look. Is that really the NUN's logo ?

Most everyone that's posted think it's NUNS. I am still uncertain/unconvinced. The crescent looks the same but no circle with the crescent. That is, the symbol on the VF-27 doesn't match exactly what's been seen on the VF-171. That's why i don't think the VF-27 is from HUMAN/ZENTRAN United Nations Space Forces. It's just done too much interferance to be friendly... it's like Dallas/Bobby Heuwing all over again...

  11. There are several scattered throughout the other pages of this thread. I figure it is going to be another PMC group working with another fighter design team that get to pilot the VF-27.
Checked the screenies but something screens wrong here. a shoulder patch doesn't make a logo. Has Cathy's patch BEEN SEEN ON THE VF-171? that's what's gonna convince me that the VF-27 is NUNS, that the same logo vaguely seen on the undewrwing of the VF-171 is also seen on the wings of the VF-171's.

ok, i spent a bit of time looking various Youtubes of Eps 1 (The Elint VF-171 gives the best evidence of the NUNS kite logo) and i'm firm on the VF-27 not being NUNS.... yeah the wing kite has the bent horse collar (it's what the NUNS kite looks to me) but the wing lighting isn't good enough to see the circle that wraps around the horse collar on the NUNS kite... and the lettering isn't NUNS... you can make out 101 on the tail end of the lettering so it's a logo, just NUNS's logo.

this is nuts and i'm gonna stop argueing (I'm hooked. i'm *&^%ing hooked and i want to know ALL about this new wrinkle in the beer can soup The Froating Head has cooked for us.) cause the logo looks too close. i'm really starting to think we know nothing about the current political players of Macross. Just how many goverments exist? If the VF-27 does belong to a different political entity from NUNS and is a foe of it, this series just got a whole hella murkier....

    More Mecha Pr0n please? ^_^

  12. SMS is a PMC, so maybe another PMC was given the testing duties for the VF-27.
WHERE EXACTLY..... *coff* *coff* does it say that the VF-27 is affiliated with NUNS? I mean, the SMS fighters would have IFF'd the fighter as friendly once they were seen (It seem ludicruse that in light of passing information back and forth between colony fleets, as well as back to the core worlds of humanity, that current designs wouldn't be indentifiable as non-hostiles? Like i've fussed at Togo about, the VF-27 very much a foe to NUNS & SMS...
  13. Ok, i wet myself... Now to await some sub's on youtube...

-The VF-27 is most definately a foe, most certainly Varja or aligned with the Varja. When Alto lifted Luca's arm, in turn making his Valkyrie fire rounds to free itself, the VF-27's reaction (disarming the EVF-25's gunpod) was extremely meant to keep them contained and handled (the continued keeping aim on a clearly defencely opponent shows Hostile Intent). Now the why it left once the Varja carrier opened it's mouth to fire?

perhaps he (the VF-27 Pilot) guessed that the battle was lost... Certainly Alto will take personally any grudge matchs in the future.

my two cents? The pilot of the VF-27 is a descendant of Shin Kudo (Didn't he play a instrument in zero?), maybe Varja and clearly a foe of the human/zentran races... with a thing for hot pants and idol singers...

    ^_^ More mecha porn plz?

  14. Apart from that, my speculation on the VF-19 and co. is done.
we'll see them if Papa Bandai wants to sell them... though The Froating Head's explaination about not wanting to use the VF-19 for CF duties on MF sounds allot like why we never saw any CF Connies in TNG or DS9, where as we saw every frigging Miranda, Excelsior or Oberth in starfleet...

but again, i'll bet the people paying the Froating Head told him what they did want...
