Finally had a little time to wrap up the design work on the armament set, do a final test print, and upload everything to Cults 3D:

@nightmareB4macross, let me know if you still want a set. I plan on printing and prepping a few of them for my own projects and thought you might want one for your museum (or a custom).
I definitely would like a set.
PM details and price please, along with PayPal addy.
Thank you.

It's literally just that one shot, and likely unintentional. They're otherwise all brownies in that episode, save the Vermillion trio.
Why would a simple animation error be given an official name? This isn't Robotech. 😉
Well you know, it’s like the VT-1C and the VEFR-1. You just want it to be known for the sake of the completeist like me.🤗

the seller didn't offer that. he refunded 60 bucks instead.
Was this thru eBay?

Yeah I just wish the glue wasn't black. Also odd this valkyrie came from the factory like this and one of the tail wings has some stress which I didn't do. this is why I was trying to get another copy of this valkyrie.
If you bought it this way, why not send it back and purchase another?

I think that part is made from POM.
It is intended to be strong and has a high tendency of not working well with surface bonding glues.
If you are lucky enough to get the parts to stick cool. But they will never be strong as the original part once was and break apart easily.
Hopefully you can find a solution by doing a little research on the plastic and finding the right bonding chemical.

Next in the series?

Based on the thickness of the parts and price they appear very, very small.

This is cool @takatoys. Easy custom instead of painting route if it's just for striping.
Care to share how thick these vinyls are and links where to purchase it? Thanks in advance.
And money making in 3-2-1…
Go.

I wonder if Arcadia is struggling.
This is the 6th time the SDF-1 is being released since 2010 and the VF-1 since 2008. This almost feels like a Toynami move. Nothing new just more reissues. Would be nice if they added in scale figures that stood up. 😜
Seriuosly, we need something new.

It appears so.
There so many slight changes from the TT to Bandai to Hasbro mold. For instance some TT backplates will not align correctly as a replacement for Bandai Jetfire. The dimensions are not exactly the same and refuse to nest properly. Same for many parts throughout.

Looks really great NB4M!
@MechTech dude! Your work is simply inspiring. (And your tools are enviable!) Always a pleasure to see what you've been up to.
@arbit wish I had the patience to learn 3D modeling. The things that 3D printers make possible, I mean the sky is the limit, and your designs look so good.
Fist asteroid underway.
Thank you, I couldn’t have done it with out the inspiration.

How on earth did you break them this badly? And where is the right shoulder cover?

In case you were wondering.
Strength test of swing plates.
I attached a leg 😜 to see if it will hold and be strong enough to support the weight.

So...as it currently stands...we have Takatoku feet....Matchbox-Bandai feet...and the grinded up no logos feet....
Was Matsushiro involved in the production of the "Big Macross"? If so...there could be some out there with Matsushiro logos....
There 5 versions of the SDF-1 mold. None have Matsushiro stamped on them. But there is one that is known to be released by Matsushiro.

So more Takatoku than Matchbox-Bandai....do you have one of those?....would be curious to see what is going on with it where the logos would be...
Yes sir. A perfect specimen.

From what I recall, only the SSF-1 has all the cutouts and actual firing mechanisms along with missiles and ships on sprues.

Was there ever an official or best reason given by Bandai why it never released a 1/55 VF-1J Armored Valkyrie.
I know from what I could piece together they offered it to Hasbro for an updated Jetfire for 87. was something going on or reason after they got the molds from Takatoku they just ignored it for the 1985 release? I noticed the 1990, 2002 and 2008 it was still absent from re-releases lineup too.
I believe there are stories of the molds not surviving or that they had deteriorated quickly and could not be used any further.

1/55's revisited
in Toys
Posted
A while back an eBay seller had this new box on auction with BIN.
The listing stated OVERSIZED and I got a bit excited. So I reached out to the seller to confirm. Lo and behold it was just the regular 1/55 GS-11. Nothing special.
Bummer. I was really hoping it was oversized.
