1. Easily the best car-related movie in recent memory. Car chases we're really entertaining and exciting, keeping the CG to a reasonable minimum. Plot was strong enough, acting wasn't great but it was more than passable. Directing was above average for a film like this. They thankfully avoided much car techno babble, so as not to make the writer look completely ignorant (Putting SR20's in Civics, yo). The heroes weren't complete douchebags and the badguy drove a 350Z so combined with his general apeface behavior there was nothing redeeming about the guy. That Mustang is absolutely tits.
2. No, the original question asked if HG was going to take credit for creating the original animation used in Robotech (which they didn't) and for causing Macross' popularity in the west (which they did). It was in line with the rest of ridiculous assumptions and comments made about HG, and I called him on it. Apparently that bothers you. No one ever expected Tony to know everything about Robotech, but it's ridiculous to assume the people involved with the production of Robotech wouldn't have some inkling of it's origins. Certainly the fact that the animation was already produced (very unusual for an animated project) and noticeably divided into three stylisticly different section would have been a big clue to somebody experienced in animation. Furthermore, Tony was no stranger to japanese animation dubbing productions when he started working on Robotech. Next time I'll include some graphs and charts in my posts, so it'll be easier to understand and I won't have to explain everything out for you. 408409
3. Don't be an ass. You don't know that and are assuming. And if you do, then state your sources. vinnie 407818 My source is common sense. You think animation just magically appeared in Harmony Gold's offices and they figured "Hey, someone here must have designed this?" I understand that some people really really dislike HG, but the common belief held here on MW that everyone involved with HG is some fire-breathing heartless bastard who's entire existence is focused on creating lies about a 20 year old cartoon and duping anime fans into believing something other than the obvious truth is ridiculous and downright ignorant.
4. It's too bad the US release of VOTOMS hasn't been more successful, or else we'd have a much better chance at seeing a series like Dougram finally get translated.
5. Got any pics? 408176 Seconded. Corrado's are awesome cars, they just seemed like a hassle due to the crappy electronics systems. By far the coolest water-cooled VW.
6. Irvine would be ideal, since it was timed to coincide with AX and all... Would be a lot more convenient for those attending AX.

8. Don't think banner ads are a bad thing. Some money coming in to help Shawn keep the web site up and promotions that are actually of interest to MW members? Sounds good to me.
9. Although I can see your confusion, since the genre "J-Drama" is used for mini-series and the like.
10. Don't be stupid. The people originally involved with Robotech are perfectly aware of the origins of the cartoon.
11. great minds think alike I had the opportunity to purchase an old Datsun Z, even had my parts list ready, but the deal fell through. I would have loved to stuff an all aluminum 350 in it. 407593 I had a friend in high school who got $100k when he turned 18 from an accident settlement. He went out and bought a gorgeous Z. Had a Mustang V8 in it (don't remember if it was teh 4.6 or 5.0), metallic orange with white racing stripes. The car was amazing. He got pulled over by cops a lot and most of the time it was just so they could take a look at it. But he was 18 and stupid and 3 months later he was driving out on some country roads, got his tires in some gravel and plowed into a tree.
12. Do we have a location for this years con yet?
13. The C6 Z06 is by far one of the coolest cars available today. The performance to price ratio is incredible and proves that American cars can actually kickass if developed properly. My local Chevy dealership just got a yellow one in and is in front on display. Almost makes me wish I still worked there so I could go take it for a spin.
14. The Austrailian divisions of Ford and Gm are really, really depressing. Depressing in the sense that they show just how lame the American car companies ar nowadays here in the U.S. Despite improving quality and reliability, our American cars are still woefully uncool compared to the stuff Austrailia gets. (Not counting the Z06.)
15. Everyone knows the best Macross game is the Macross II arcade game. I'm pretty ambivalent towards the PS2 Macross game. It's decent, but not extraordinary in any way. Battlecry had faults, but it also had a lot of charm. It certainly had more character than the PS2 Macross game, which is probably why I can remember playing through Battlecry but not Macross.
16. Reddsun is as wealthy as you are, the difference is he doesn't lie about it on the internet.
17. The world is an unfair place, isn't it Keithy? Sounds like business to me.
18. How do we know HG has no money? You mindless HG haters are absolutely ridiculous with the lies nad false information you convince yourselves of.
19. What does Anime News Network need to give a panel for? "Uh, hi, we're a news website."
20. And yet Sony keeps reusing the same horrible controller design and no one seems to mind.
21. Don't think they're mailing them out till pre-reg closes on the 15th.
22. Diff'rent strokes (hah, see what I did there?). OS X doesn't have much in the way of keyboard shortcuts, so I just don't use my keyboard much for that stuff. You'll learn to appreciate mouse gestures a bit more once you're using Opera on the DS.
23. A V8 will also be necessary if Honda wants to keep expanding into the truck market.
24. Why? 404193 Because Mozilla/Firefox are memory hogs and on my aging computer they run like poo. Opera isn't perfect, but it's just as good as Firefox and Opera has mouse gestures, which I have hard imagining myself browing the internet without nowadays.
25. Underage school girls = porn? You perv.
