  1. honestly after transforming it back the first time i don't see what the big deal is. there are certainly more steps than the arcadia but it really was relatively painless. there were complaints about the arms having 9 joints or something(?) but i got the arms to fold in the right position almost immediately, and as long as you focus on where the tabs are and massage them in you can remove the gaps relatively pain free. my initial problem was that i couldn't keep the leg swing bars in the down position while transforming the rest of the torso but once i figured that out i was pretty good to go.
  2. so it took me over an hour but i'd still say it was relatively painless once i removed those bits behind the legs. is it really supposed to be able to transform with those still on? the bit came completely off and the sliding door was pushed in as soon as i pushed the leg in place so i just didn't even bother with them after that. it took a while to massage the gaps out and it still looks a little gappy but i feel like now that i'm used to it i'd be able to do it pretty quickly next time.
  3. so i finally got some free time so i'm gonna try transforming it back to fighter for the first time. gonna try with the fast packs on.
  4. Unlike others here my experience with the bandai has been overwhelmingly positive but i have yet to transform it from battroid back to fighter. Although to be honest, just getting the right lerx loose and the wing boosters on were 1 hr+ struggles, while getting the pinpoint barrier cabbage off was another battle. Still i think it looks good enough in fighter for it to be a matter of taste whether you prefer it or the Arcadia, and while i personally prefer the arcadia sculpt in battroid, the added articulation of the bandai (and tight ankles)make the battroid action poses so much better. You guys have got me downright terrified of transforming it back in fighter though.
  5. it was made to order so unless you buy it from the member here ebay is your only option.
  6. the arcadias are great actually. so are the bandais. good luck finding an arcadia for a decent price though. the bandai is still available but probably will be sold out within a week or so. after that you'll be stuck with huge mark ups.
  7. Comparing side to side, it does look like the arcadia is wearing bell bottoms or jnco jeans compared to the bandai which looks more like it has slim fit jeans. For battroid I like the bandai better from most angles especially because of its better articulation. but from straight on forward, the chunky legs of the arcadia does make it look better, especially in an extreme a-stance.
  8. dude, that actually helped me a lot. finally got the cabbage off. on to some gunpod and comparison pics! really comparing the bandai and arcadia next to each other it becomes more apparent that they are totally different styles of the same valk. i tried to make the pose as similar as possible, and yet the bandai looks somehow brash and wild, while the arcadia looks more like a cool, calm, professional soldier. it really is personal preference which you end up liking more. i pulled out the entire family for the last pic. dunno why i even bothered with the monstrocity on the left and in back. the yamato 1/60 was such a floppy mess, it was a miracle i got it to even stand. couldn't hold a pose worth a dime. i couldn't find the gunpod for the old yamato 1/72 but tried to do the same pose, without the gunpod it makes it look like it's trying to do some funky dance.
  9. so i cannot for the life of me remove the grey wrist piece. i've twisted, pulled, wiggled, doesn't seem to want to come off? thanks! i got a new lens for my camera that's F0.95, it's gotten me hooked on macro-ish shallow depth of field shots. got a ways to go before i get to saburo's level!
  10. so i got my copy today, transformed it and was shooting pics all happy as a clam. after shooting some pinpoint barrier punch pics, was gonna swap hands and snap some pics holding the gunpod, when the nub for the pinpoint barrier wrist got stuck on. this may sound like a stupid question, but to all those who have used the pinpoint barrier wrist and swapped with other wrists, how do you get it off? two hours of twisting and prying have gotten me no where.
  11. i just rewatched every scene from mac plus that i could think of that showed above the intakes of the yf-19, and no gray stripe anywhere...
  12. i have the first release 1/72 yf-19 and the 1/60 yamato yf-19 and i actually hate the 1/60 v1 the most. the hand and fingers exploded a while ago during regular transformation, all the gray soft plastic parts have disintegrated, and it is so floppy that literally it will not stand whatsoever in battroid or gerwalk. just crumples completely to the ground. the 1/72 is ugly as sin but at least it can still stand. sooo glad i got the arcadia yf-19.
  13. i dunno, to be honest the colors of the toy actually look better than the screen shots from the game imo. a lot more people have seen mac zero than have played mac 30 so i can see how there could be more scrutiny for on screen accuracy there.
  14. there is something similar in the real world, although it didn't act as a booster. ¯\_ _/¯
  15. Wow, nice. I wonder does this open up the possibility that they might make more renewals of old stuff? Like updated arcadia mac plus valks to go along with the arcadia yf-19?
  16. oh shat, non armor pics! VF style conventional canopy and isamu pilot! i'm still not happy with the gappiness seen from the top view of fighter mode but aside from that it looks fantastic in every single other view, and battroid is way more posable than arcadia's! unfortunately for my wallet this is starting to look more and more like a must buy for me...
  17. No (((((((((
  18. I already have a yf-19 I already have a yf-19 I already have a yf-19 I already have a yf-19 I already have a yf-19 I already have a yf-19 I already have a yf-19 I already have a... Aw hell
  19. i think it has to do with the trick neck cover integration into the shield that everyone's talking about. it's a pretty slick gimmick but as a result the shield has to be long enough to cover the head, which means it starts too far forward making it look overly long. the wings also start too far forward making the legs look overly long as well. even completely ignoring the gaps, the proportions just seem all out of wack from the top view. looks good from every other angle though.
  20. i agree with this. the wings and shield look too far forward relative to the legs. also, the thrust vectoring nozzles look angled strangely upwards. side and bottom view look far better than the top view.
  21. this pretty much sums up my sentiments. i told myself i was finally done with this far too expensive hobby! now waht?! you know there technically was a cgi of the vf-0d in frontier as well. that would put bandai in DIRECT competition with arcadia!
  22. almost a decade ago i had 2 yammie 1/48s in the trunk of my car as i was in the process of moving. the new area proved to be a little more rough than where i was living previously. someone broke into my car and stole both yammies out of the trunk. those were the only 1/48s i've ever owned.
  23. i'm japanese, and i don't like it. i'd much prefer the more low viz like colors of the anime. but then again, i'm americanized so i guess i don't count lol
  24. i agree that the shade of blue is off but it somehow doesn't surprise me. it seems like valk toy colors always tend to be more saturated than how they appear in the anime.
