  1. I noticed QC issues. I do believe they had problems with it, so it would explain quite a bit.
  2. The shopkeeper will be like "anything for a fellow mutie"
  3. I was lucky enough to buy a second 25G a year or or so later. It was listed as secondhand but only the outside box had been opened. Everything else was untouched. And I got it for the same price as my first- which was already slightly pricier on release. Still one of my favourites due to the sniper rifle.
  4. Bandai won't do it. Frontier was a success and they didn't do the super parts packaged with their respective Valks. I had held out hope for a proper VF-27 renewal since it was so cool, but the half-@ssed rehash was it. I still would buy the 25 and 27 if they reengineered it to the 31s standards. The 25 is still the best in my opinion. It's a beast. Something about the melding of American and Russian aircraft design and it's sleek profile. Also the 30, if I'm just talking about the airframe.
  5. The question was a straight reissue. They don't do 'em. You couldn't get the Seven Swords when they packaged the Raiser with the 00 Gundam. If they did, people wouldn't bother with web exclusives you could get a few years later. That's why they have to tow the line in regards to no reissues. Sure the Seven Sword/G was finally made available but the blue is a different tinge, and it had the extra sword. Call it Bs marketing, but they tiptoed around TWEs losing their exclusivity and managed to sate fan demand for a reissue.
  6. Never if I'm correct. If did it once, it'd set a dangerous precedent. They always change something so it's not the same package. It's how they ensure people preorder.
  7. I want the super parts to be announced, or just as, if not more happy to have the armours right off the bat.
  8. You're definitely on the money. The prices in HK have jumped another HK$200 from some sellers. Looks like the shops have gotten wind of what's even more limited than first thought. Not everyone is jacking up this much but it'll happen and fast. Loopaza's video game store already listed it around US$360 at their brick and mortar, and I don't even know if they have that unit still in stock. A real shame as it's a gem of a valk, one which shows Bandai's far superior engineering, paired with an awesome delta wing configuration. Maybe the demand will make Bandai see sense in releasing an armoured Kairos bundle? Or a chance for collectors to nab another, outside of the Arad unit?
  9. The fact that they didn't get so many preorders as to a second run, ala Gundam, means the ship has sailed on further units. They obviously meticulously plan their factory timetables, so the chances of a rerun would be for next year if ever. Knowing their policies regarding exclusives, I wager it's done. We will only get traction if people in Japan had trouble after ordering directly from them.
  10. I'm wondering what happened on the Bandai side of things. All the preorders in HK were fulfilled via third parties obviously, but how come even companies in Japan had trouble sourcing them?
  11. I'm in Hong Kong. I can tell you no import tax etc is heaven compared to London. I can buy stuff from the US and Japan without the hassle of that £60 ask from delivery men. Anyways, the supply shortage is being felt here too. The Kairos shot up in price immediately, and I haven't seen many units in shops. Mirage's unit was fairly abundant, for reference. A few months back, when the shop I go to opened up the preorders, I preordered. They managed to fulfil their deliveries, as did everyone else within the few days it started shipping from Japan. So I guess because of the proximity of the HK dealers with their Japanese counterparts, they got the first batches. After them, if the product is too hot, you're outta luck. I did want another Kairos but the price is too high right now, but it's probably a case of wait and pay more later.
  12. Only a few people have the 31A locally but the prices are going up. It's around $345 at the moment. There's a little stock still available.
  13. Did not know there was a counter. Yeah that's what I meant by they don't literally take 10340 orders, that there's a limit to their run. So customers fit their numbers other than the other way around. I do think there were QC issues with the valk. I have a slight scratch on one of mine on the nose and it just seems like little things probably kept some back in the factories. Also grats Spanner now to share the love! Gotta hand Valks out like sweets!
  14. I would assume made to order is an approximate amount of pieces, not in a literal sense. This explains why Metal Builds and the like sell out, even though they're made to order. Methinks Bandai underestimated the popularity and didn't prepare for how they handle MBs, thus no second run. They're probably quietly doing a second batch too.
  15. This is terrible. Sorry to read all the posts about NY.
  16. I think the growing middle class is buying everything, but it's cooled down for the past couple of years. I haven't noticed a difference is supply when it comes to online preorder madness- it's always madness lol. Delta hasn't been particularly popular judging by the stock levels, so this whole Kairos debacle is more Bandai dropping the ball more than anything. I've noticed the excess stock from Macross DXes and Gundam Metal Builds, on top of Hot Toys' prices being more normal; just seems like toy collecting has levelled off.
  17. From what I know, Chinese collectors need to come to Hong Kong to get their fix. A lot of products aren't sold over the border. It's not the same era as the days when all scalpers took inventory to China. There are scalpers everywhere and they are and forever will be enemies of toy collectors! In HK, the VF-31A wasn't all that hot during the preorder period but I snagged 3 since I loved the design. Haven't looked back and was glad that day when I grabbed my trio of badasses! The current local going price has gone up to around $400 so I'll probably not get a fourth. The QC on all three seem to be so-so, and I have a slightly scratched canopy on one which I managed to switch out into one of the other Kairos'.
  18. It's like in Avengers when Stark says Coulson's first name is Agent. So it must be with you. Spanner is your first name!
  19. Loopaza is crazy expensive- they charge full whack international shipping for local orders. Not going down that route again unless absolutely necessary. However they do deliver and the reason I've never bought from the actual store is they don't stock the same things or let you preorder the rare items. I asked the boss and he says Loopaza and the actual shop are different even though the address is theirs. All in all, don't worry too much about your orders from Loopaza as they have taken your money and are just lazy to ship out.
  20. This absolutely sucks. Everyone who have had their orders cancelled and those still awaiting news, I'm sorry to hear what's happened. Bandai have seriously dropped the ball. I was wondering why the local shops have this valk pegged so high as soon as it hit. Most are going for around $312. One store I sometimes go to has it for $246 but it looks like it's the final one.
  21. I bought my three from a local store that buys from Japan, so that is weird. No way they'd have one address for the 100 VF-31A's, so that throws buying from P-Bandai direct out of the question. Usually the web exclusives come out all around the same date, only this shipment got delayed for you guys.
  22. Haha it was too tempting not to! Hope everyone gets theirs soon it's a beauty!
  23. Picked up my copies today. Only had a chance to open one and it's fab! I wish they would have included a second pilot- was there a second pilot on the show? Anyways, a really nice design that screams real life military.
