  1. It's looking pretty good. I like the paint pattern, especially on the white part of the legs. There may be too much contrast between the colors on the central torso section (this impression may be caused by the lighting in the picture?) Maybe a light dusting of color to blend the panels would be good. This suggestion might be a lot of work, but is there any way to thicken the shoulder cannon booms? They just seem waaaay too skinny to me on that kit. Good luck with it. You are definitely off to a good start!
  2. Great work Cowie! The custom decals on the 1D are very nice and the 1A looks ready for action. How did you get the canopies to be so clear? I've found that my 1/100 kits have thick canopies that cause a lot of distortion or are badly scratched or flawed. The fighter mode kits are the best of the 1/100 scale line. The only problem I can really say about them is that the heads don't look quite right, but once built they are pretty much out of the way. Oh, and they don't come with pilot figures.
  3. Hey, love your use of color on the FSS portraits. Maybe a little too much linework on the face of the second one, disrupts the fluidity. Your paintwork gives them quite a bit of life. I like the planes too. Especially the last post of the VF-23 in airplane mode, great blend of your fluid lines and the perfect amount of structure to give it a strong presence. I think your VF-23 Gerwalk needs some more beef on the legs, looks a little scrawny there. The Battroid on the other hand looks great with dynamic proportions and a lot of implied motion! Please just take my comments as constructive criticism. I like your style quite a bit and am just trying to provide you with an objective opinion that hopefully will help your future designs. Very interesting work. Thanks for sharing them here. I look forward to more!
  4. That's a great method to get the design on the base. You should be able to get a lot of use out of that template. To get it even cheaper, you can check out craft stores (Michaels, Hobby Lobby etc.) They always have small unfinished wood plaques or bases that would work great with your idea. They do not have any carved designs on the top, but they have different styles of fancy edges for whatever you want and the small ones usually start at around 50 cents!
  5. Good deal ce! You'll find all kinds of things to do with that pin-vise and bits. I know what you mean about drilling out those barrels. Got to get the bit centered and keep it there or else you're in trouble.
  6. Nice job, looks like that valk is flyin' high! That kit does build into a good representation. The only problem in fighter mode I think is that the intake area gets so darn thick and bulky. Just a result of the transformation engineering. I like the battloid mode too except for the terrible angle that the forearms are stuck in. No rotation at the bicep. The color scheme you used looks much more like a real world example. Thanks for sharing the pics. What's up next?
  7. Aaaagh! Pricey, but we all know it will be a beautiful thing! I can't wait (although my wallet can ) I AM IN!
  8. I'm the technician for a school district, so I have one of the only PCs that are not limited by our firewall. (not that MW is blocked anyway) So I can look at pretty much anything I want when I want. On slow days I can spend several hours just checking out the web. Of course even on busy days I can spend an hour or two at least! Like DND, I'd rather spend my work time on the net than my free time at home. I don't get any trouble from coworkers if they see me browsing, but it can be a little embarassing when they see me looking at big pictures of giant robots. I got caught looking at Optimus Prime just the other day!
  9. I hope this has some killer articulation. Hopefully these do well for Yamato and they can eventually get to some Zent mecha!
  10. Great work on some awesome subjects! I like the clean look, especially on the Cat's Eye. I'm sure those wouldn't see as much wear and tear and would get extra maintenance attention as well. The only suggestion I have is to put a pilot in the VF-4! That baby is flying on autopilot right now! Looks great though. A couple of questions: How was the build process for the Cat's Eye? I've heard it has some challenges to get it together. What colors did you use for the radomes (the yellowish color) and what did you use for the exhaust areas? I like the way they look and might want to use them on some of my kits. Thanks for showing off these great kits and keep up the great work!
  11. If you're looking for a variable kit then I think this is your best, simplest and cheapest option. If you have built a few models before, then you should be able to finish this kit. A big key to building this kit and making it work is simply to take your time and be careful when glueing parts together. Do not use too much glue on the moving parts or they can get gummed up. This is not really difficult, just takes some care. For the time they were made, these were amazing kits. They still hold up today when given proper attention during assembly and painting.
  12. Got mine over the weekend. Thanks John! Still haven't had a chance to open it up and check out the parts though. Hopefully I'll have some free time tonight!
  13. This is a great start on an overlooked and sorely missed subject! I'll be excited to watch your progress on this. If (when) you are successful, it will be required that we find some way to get this produced for the lowly masses who have been crying out for 1/48 two-seater goodness!!!!!
  14. They both look cool. What did you start out with when you made the figure?
  15. Oooh! Along with the cockpit, are there any landing gear references? That would be cool IMHO and then I would definitely need two!
  16. I'd have to pick up one or two. Even if they were just straight repops of your original. Of course, a cockpit sounds quite cool.
  17. Looking great Ryuji! Amazing work! Hopefully I can pick one of these up when you start production.

Cripes! I've never seen a 1/144 cockpit that well detailed. Excellent job!
  19. You guys may want to check out the Starshipmodeler store. They have some in stock. Fantastic people to deal with there, with the fastest shipping in West!
  20. Yes, you can decant some paint from a spray can into a container in order to brush it on the model. The spray paints are formulated a little differently, and some colors may not cover as well as paints that are straight from a bottle. Make sure you work with small amounts at a time. Most importantly, make sure you are working in a very well ventilated area. The fumes from the spray paint will be even stronger than fumes from bottled paints. If you have a lot of painting to do, I would still suggest you pick up an actual bottle of paint for your project.
  21. Awesome build! You are quickly becoming a master modeler. Love the flying circus paint scheme.

She's coming along nicely now! Keep up the great work TSP!
  23. Yeah! that scout looks great! The paint job reminds me of the old Imai boxart. I hope to get a similar effect whenever I get around to building mine. Fantastic job! Thanks for the pics.
  24. Whew!! Just made it I guess! Glad I snuck in under the wire, but we want to make sure you can keep producing these awesome kits! Just out of curiosity, besides the volume of resin that these kits take, is the increased cost of oil affecting the price of the resin you are buying?
  25. I hope I can get two at the low price! IPMO is going out today!
