The friends in my agegroup all see things they'd love to have but can't afford This doesn't mean I'm making a killing with what I do I just purposely miss out on things they have -my own house -my own car -sports -going out -vacations if I were to have even one of those things my situation would be rather different so far the things I do have, don't cut into my macross budget but it won't stay this way forever Just don't think of me as an Elitist because I buy all the items I want -at (almost) whatever price there's a lot I leave out to get them as for manufacturers killing the collectors market? If you are a collector, sentimental value should rank Highest, financial value is only important for the insurance these same collectors drive up the price for their items and the ones they want to buy themselves -a classic case of shooting yourself in the foot: driving up the prices gets noticed by manufacturers who will realize there's still money to be made reissues are for a (financial) collector an example of betting on the wrong horse they should be seen as a godsend for "real" collectors who can finally complete their collection without paying through the nose true if those reissues have been modified to a lesser quality, the old ones would still be more valuable (sentimental) as for newer designs being so expensive: the bandai reissues are cheaper for a reason: no cost except for parts, labour and transport a 20 year old design has no more developmentcosts if there were, developing a 1/55 today would make it cost more than an MPC which makes it come mighty close to a brandspanking new Yamato 1/48 -and the endresult is a Valkyrie that in comparison to a 1/48 is enormously out of proportion

Why are they preachin to the Choir?
Nightbat replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Exactly, I think it's comedy we have Vostok drooling over Milla every chance he has - no harm in that! we have AgentONE adding all lame things/persons "Girlyman"s - any harm in that? Now the only question: Is AgentONE Hans or Frans? edit: typo -
Why are they preachin to the Choir?
Nightbat replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Every action has a reaction, in AgentONE's case the reaction has something to do with pointing out someone behaving as "Adolescent Female-like Males" Nothing abnormal about that, it's called: evolution -not seen on a day-to-day basis, but more noticable when viewed over longer periods of time As for the P2P warnings: walk out and ask your money back If you had to worry about this stuff: You'd be at home downloading it -
I'm not pleased about this, nice to have the Q-rau so soon but they might as well have delayed it's release so they could improve some things or waited at least a year with releasing an improvement figure (it would have at least given the impression they were busy with other things Nice to know there's a new Milla underway, but that's all I have to say in a positive light though it would be cool if they would continue on this concept and release groundcrew and gear for the 1/48's

Hey, There's nothing bad about being AgentONE just ask ...AgentONE!!!
-
I'm: AgentONE - So sexy it hurts Muscular and Managing, doesn't take anything from""Girly-Man"-persons Equal only to his reflection. His word stands, without editing Loyal only to his god Crom, and Governor Schwarzenegger Has a strong hate towards "Music 'n Magic" in Anime Cartoons and has pity for it's fans (yet shows no mercy) Devoted to pumping iron and has political aspirations adores himself and doorknobs

toy section becomes a danger zone....
Nightbat replied to calvin's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
I haven't seen anyone pointing fingers (as for "the Powers that be" that is) as for who was responsible the thread got out of hand, and to prevent it going any further the thread got closed, that should be fair enough reason was simple: it was a toy review, not a price debate and it's not "how it is" -it's how you percieve it to be if you comment on "yet I'm the bitch of the bunch when I make a few sensitive guys unhappy with few remarks" and here you post you consider yourself "the enemy" because of members' comments it may be honest to say that you have been made unhappy with a few sensitive remarks as well -
Now you know Kakizaki went in a blaze of glory so tape him to a jar of gasoline and an M-80 and give him the death he deserves

Actually, it just proves that the mods are doing a good job trying to keep the forums from getting cluttered with OT discussions There isn't a "Warzone"/"Anything Goes"-forum here, and there's not supposed to be one and with some of the BS they get shoved in their faces I'm surprised they aren't demanding a salary -
Most expensive Macross Item was the 1st Yamato 1/48 VF-1A (Current exchange rates now favor the € and makes the VF-1j w/Fastpacks cheaper) -edit: I did order 6 FP-sets at the same time, which was my largest purchase together but FP's per set aren't that expensive Most expensive toy: Rieju Rs2 Matrix - Moped 50cc, basic €3000,- excluding insurance, locks, repairs (yes it's transportation, but bought it for fun,... I'm old enough to ride real motorcycles ) 2nd: Jackson USA RR1 Randy Rhoads, Snakeskin Finish f5500,- (€2500) in 2001

That was what I was missing when checking the searchresults on Macross: CM collection 1 Sorry to hear you missed out again BlackJek, but they were on Preorder status at least since early Januari I believe That's the reason whenever something comes up for preorder I hit the button I can always cancel later (So far that has yet to happen)

So,... from this I conclude: you don't like him very much?

You gotta be shitting me! NO two ARMDs are alike? What happens if one of them get fragged? They wouldnt be able to fix one with parts or armor plate that they had extra unless they had produced if for THAT particular vessel. If the stockpiles of spare parts goes up and the ship gets damaged its an expensive paper weight. No 2 ARMDs are alike and neithere are they built out of one piece there is no need to make them similar The Brittanic and Titanic were sisterships but weren't twins, I believe Brittanic was a few meters shorter -same goes for the "twin" towers btw) Refitting can only go so far spare parts? You won't have modular systems that big, it's is no use replacing a hull, you just close up the hole (and armorplating is armor plating) there's no way to replace an entire engine without dismanteling a big part of an ARMD I know on some ships (like they will need to do when going to mars, it's actually also in Macross) they manufacture their spare parts themselves these aren't cars, it takes more time to build them, and during buildtime development of newer systems that are decided to be incorporated into the frame may need the designers to modify parts of it's basic blueprint by the time it's launched there already new designs to incorporate other advancements in systems making the old frame obsolete so you have to to choose between building alot of them and using them longer, no problem having spare parts then or build a few and put the most recent technology at that moment into them and don't have to worry about a stockpile of old stuff

Please come reply? about Macross & Robotech
Nightbat replied to APU's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Macross always had a steady and good supply of toys, while RT... The only good Valks available were the Taka/Bandais, they were all Macross-related, not RT anyways for the rest... to see the entire picture would go way off topic Damn, Exo beat me to it -
Well I was somewhat sarcastic about that I know it's from the videogame, but I don't know where to get it, what console it on or ever seen a screenshot of it I do think the Koenig is a cool design, but somehow it's designphilosofy is ...ehrm not understandable (is that a word?) understanding the valkyries 3-mode diversity is easy I see a reason for selfpropelled artillery to be deployed with speed but I don't see why it has to make use of hand-to-hand combat
-
Seems I missed something It was (/shoud have been) a bloody toy review, not a bang-for-buck debate I for one appreciate any effort shawn and Graham put into this site flame my threads into lock-dom, but show some respect for the guys doing us a favor!!!
-
Sorry but, where was the Koenig used in again? I would say though the koenig's a much more advanced design, it isn't as "famous" as the regular monster I would say you'd sell more 1/60 monsters than 1/144 koenigs *a big non-transforming monster fan - not everything needs 3 modes just to be cool
-
If I were to choose 1 toy, yes it would be the 1/48 But the 1/60's are probably gonna be the most elaborate with the Q-rau, and the monster, chances are were gonna see more the 1/60's are still cool, especially if you want a collection

Nice Review Graham, thanks Too bad the Millia isn't articulated, but unlike Vostok, I'll live

The return of Prime saved (what I call: Generation 2) Transformers for me it all ended after the Movie I loved the "real life/our time" vehicles, that whole future setting with the Rodimus/Galvatron-Dynasty took the real aspect away Not saying it all sucked, but as example the Quintessons dragged on too long and they weren't even Transformers how can they be an enemy on equal grounds?

Heart and Soul - Raaaaahwk!!! Ai Oboetei Masuka - Still gives me a shiver combined with the images of SW1

Yes, but TF was a bunch of thrown together designs, they weren't created as 1 series, it's very easy to use others' designs in a story you created yourself, saves you alot of creative thinking if it works you'll have a budget to come up with new ideas, and buy up even more designs and how many Optimus primes have been released before we got the MP Prime? And this is the trouble I had as a kid with butt-ugly toys, I saw a cartoon with sleek humanoid designs, my Jazz was an unposable brick that couldnt even be placed in a running stance (*driving in a straight line was already a problem) it was still the show that created the "Personalities" and made you want to have your favorite TF as a toy A Bandai 1/55 isn't a beauty, but as far as aestethics wins hands down on many larger transformers (I thought "Jetfire" was the coolest TF I ever saw - This was before I got to see RT) Maybe, but there is a much larger market for TF than Macross, it's big in Japan, Europe and the US while macross is well known, it's no way as big OH I don't hate TF, I have fond memories of the series and toys but it isn't Macross

Korn? heh,... (not a fan) well so was Megadeth's cover of "Anarchy...." but I still prefer the original ...things are a lot simpler if you already have an example -
Ring Raiders thought I saw some Micro Machines aircraft in there too, but i'm only 1% sure about that
