  1. Hmmm... seems like the QC might be more to blame than the actual design of the figure. I still like the look of it better than the Toynami, as Exo pointed out, but if it's floppy and doesn't hold together than it's basically worthless. It's weird tho... I've got like a dozen Revoltech figures, and never had a loose joint, I think on any of them, PVC-on-PVC or the Revolver joints.
  2. I'm considering grabbing it when it comes out. The pics Bandai has shown indicate that it does NOT have a full skeleton, which is supported by the $100 price tag. I think the kit would have problems like the PG00 and be too heavy for its own good with a full skeleton... a functional/playable model is definitely better.
  3. So, who's got their Bruticus Upgrade sets preordered? Just under $100 for the two sets seemed really good to me, considering a while figure like Defender is going to be $75. Releasing them as two sets probably makes it alot easier for FP, but I wish it was just one set so I can have it faster!
  4. Interesting... it looks like the new combiner effort could breathe some life into the line, but with all the FansProject stuff, Bruticus is the last combiner I'd want to buy a new mold of.
  5. Wow, both of those kitbashes look quite good so far! Destro fits surprisingly. well into the ZMDC armor. Your Snake looks quite good as well... that's a figure I'd love to have in 1/6, but like you said, the best bet is to make your own for the most part. As for your questions, the stock ZM black body suit fit like a charm on the HT TT Slim AA body, and the figure fir right back into the armor with no mods. I did a little weathering to the suit, but not much, and spend most of my time on the armor... I did an oil wash, some drybrushing, some chipping, mud spattering, oil stains, and heavy decaling, all protected under a couple coats of Future and then a matte finish.
  6. Thank you very much eriku... that is exactly what I needed to see. Not that I can afford this...
  7. I like the look of this toy alot... I'm curious to hear if the head bits can be mashed into fighter mode. I'd also really like to see a pic of Battroid mode without the leg covers... I'd like to be able to leave any excess parts in the box if its not too ugly.
  8. Your Trailbreaker looks pretty sweet. I hope the image gets quoted a few more times on this page How does the paint hold up on something as complex as movie IH?
  9. I remember me and my friend actually laughing out loud in the theater when we saw this trailer for the first time way back when... I don't think I've ever seen a stupider looking movie.
  10. I have had this figure since it came out back in 2004 or 2005, and it is really well designed, but the actual person figure wearing the armor was crap. I saw the new HT TT bodies and thought I could finally fix this figure up. At the same time, I applied the decals that came with the figure and did all the weathering to the figure to make it look like a proper in-use piece of military hardware. 11. Wow! The 1/48 Gundam looks awesome. Hopefully it's not absurdly expensive because it doesn't have a real internal frame.
  12. So, I'm sorta totally getting sucked into 1/6 figures... this is going to be a problem. Most of what I'm interested in is custom kitbash stuff to match figures like the 3A Ashely Wood stuff. I want to kitbash a grunt from his fiction, which is basically a mildly sci-fi'd up WWI trencher. I have an older Zero Metal power armor figure that has a lame inner body figure that wears the armor, so I just bought one of the new Hot Toys slim-type bodies and some accessories to make a new figure to wear the armor. Hopefully everything is compatible enough (my only real concern is fitting the boots I bought to the armored leg pieces). Edit: And I've been eyeing up the Soldier Story DAK trooper that came out last month... modern soldier figures don't do much for me, but I could see picking up a few cool historicals.
  13. Well, y'know, nothing you're asking is exactly new information. Use google and check out other places and you'll find tons of resources about the exact thing you want to do.
  14. Sorry, it was just an impossible amount of useless text to have to scroll through twice.
  15. Holy $hit, why would you quote that whole block of text for a one-like reply? Pay attention.
  16. I was pretty impressed by the way Avatar manages to make EVERYONE look bad, not just humans... the Na'vi are impossibly stubborn and ignorant, to the point of being a stereotype themselves. Avatar was visually stunning, but the actual plot was a snoozer, and the condescending tone of the film makes it really hard to get behind.
  17. If you mean the Bandai Chogokin Gundam (GA-100?), like 50 bucks... eventually I'd like to get the GM and Zaku... they seem pretty sweet.
  18. I never picked up the Bandai Fatty, but I really want to, and definitely would have liked to see more kits... we need some good Turtle kits!
  19. Saw it today. The 3D is cool, and the movie is entertaining, but I found it really hard to be engaged by it when, like jenius pointed out, the movie is impossibly stupid and predictable. You already know the whole plot from the first moments, so the movie just drags on and on and on for what feels like an eternity. I also found the movie totally condescending and bleak if you're looking for any kind of message... corporate people are bad, science can't solve anything, might makes right, people of funny colors cannot be reasoned with, army is bad, humans are bad, people of funny colors are ignorant and stupid, it went on and on, portraying noone in a very good light. During the final battle between Corporal Scar and Blue Jake, Corporal Scar manages to correctly point out why it is effed up that Jake will win... you don't leave the movie with a very good feeling. And godammit, Unobtanium.
  20. Wave 1/24 kit built up two years ago and never photographed. I used a bunch of metal replacement parts and scratchbuilt some details as well. I also redid alot of the articulation to fix the shoulders, hips, and ankles, and enable the Scopey to hold his rifle well and roller dash with style. 21. Man, I'm going to have to get the new GBP.... but what am I going to do with my 1/48 GBP custom now?
  22. I finished this gal about a year ago, but somehow never photographed it: The regular pink and off-white Brutishdog has always seemed a bit boring to me, so I wanted to spice up the design with this kit. I added a two-tone pink disruptive scheme to add some interest, along with a large number of decals and some really controlled weathering to depict Fyana in her element, blowing up machines and roller-dashing rings around her enemies. If I ever get around to detailing up my Yamato 1/12 Brutishdog, I will finish it the exact same way. Lots of pics can be seen on my site: Brutishdog Phantom Lady Custom Fyana surveys her targets. ...moves into position... ...And charges in! Blast 'em! "Gotta reload after killing everybody"
