  1. I think he works with that crook Mike (GenZhao) who lives in China and gets the toys off the factory line and has a whole sh!tcloud around him. I think that's where Frenzy_Rumble gets them from as well, so he can quick throw a wash and drybrush on them and get them on ebay before they are released so he can make a fortune off the suckers. I really tend to avoid TFW2005 and all their drama at this point because alot their community sucks. It bums me out tho, because there are some good guys still, and I've gotten a ton of good deals on vintage stuff there.
  2. Out of curiosity, was your LRS subbed? All I have is the ancient VHS raw rip, but I'd love to upgrade if there's something better out there. And yeah, the Yamato VOTOMs stuff seems to be dead... the last thing to come out was the remote control 1/24 Turbo Custom, which noone knew why they wasted time on, and that was quite a while ago.
  3. If you're going to paint it I'd also recommend taking a little sandpaper to the seam that runs down the middle of the shoulderpad...
  4. If you're going for anime accurate still, there are some red shoulder-ed options for Turbo Customs in the Root of Ambition OVA, which I always forget exists. Those are real Red Shoulders, so the right shoulder is correct.
  5. OK, we're gonna put this thing to bed... after searching high and low for pictures that noone seems to have (made worse by the fact that half of the pics for anything 'Scopedog' in Google are mine), I have figured this out, and I actually had it backwards: \ This is the 'big red box', and it is the complete set for the 'Last Red Shoulder Turbo Custom'... it contains the Turbo Custom dog and this weapons set: As we've discussed, no actual red shoulder. For some reason I thought the 'Red Shoulder' complete set was the 'big red box', but that's backwards. I couldn't find a picture of the Red Shoulder set box, but it's the 'v2' Red Shoulder Scopedog packed with this weapons set: Now that I've remembered which boxes are which, I want to say this complete set box is green. If you're going to get your first, I would wholly recommend the LRS set with the Turbo... it is better. EDIT: Reading back through the discussion, I see where we got screwed up with all the 'big boxes' and 'red shoulders' turning into 'red boxes'... having so many things with effectively the same name does make this complicated.
  6. The big red box is the 'red shoulder' set, so yeah, it comes with the same flat red shoulder piece as the accessory set standalone pack. The Turbo has entirely new parts from the knees down, and slightly different colors (a bit 'greener' overall). The parts are totally compatible, so you could throw a Parachute Pack on a Turbo no problems... if this is your first purchase, I'd really, really recommend getting the Turbo first, as that toy is perfect, whereas the 'v2' stuff is improved but still have some looseness, especially in the shoulders and elbows. The Turbo can hold the long gun much better than the 'v2's... the Turbo is really the only one I'd pay retail for at this point, and that big box set comes with everything you'd need besides a pilot.
  7. OK, I think I've figured out the problem... you (or the store descriptions) are still getting 'Last Red Shoulder', which is where the Turbo comes from, mixed up with the 'red shoulder' machine, which is the NON-turbo Scopedog from the end of the Udoo arc, and what comes in the big red box. As you noted, the missile launchers are different, as well as pretty much all of the other weapons. The set you posted a picture of is the LRS set for the Turbo, which comes with the smoke-discharger shoulder, not a red shoulder piece. As the description in the linked set indicates, that is the 'red shoulder' set and comes with an actual red shoulder piece. The Yamato 'Red Shoulder' standalone release came with a shiny dark red shoulder, and was the first of the 'v2' figures, with the clear armor parts. The Scopedog that comes with the big red box set is further improved over that toy, and the extra optional lighter flat-red shoulder piece from the Udoo city arc is included with the weapons set you linked, which is what's in the big red box. Are we all thoroughly confused yet? All you're doing here is making me wish all these boxes weren't in storage
  8. Uhhh... you're really calling on some long-term memories here Chirico pretty much never changes, so the one figure Yamato has released pretty much fits all. One thing tho, is all of the upgrade parts for Chirico that the Udoo city Fyana figure comes with. You get a better helmet with a clear facemask, and a new abdomen assembly with much better articulation... it's pretty sweet. The uniform doesn't change tho. As for the other set, I'm pretty sure the red box Dog boxset is the same as the individual packed Dog and separate weapons set. The 'red shoulder' unit from the Udoo city arc is just a standard Scopedog with the weapons set and wrong-side red shoulder, so any green Scopedog will do. The box set is really nice if you can find it, and the box stores much better One last thing... if you're getting all concerned with anime accuracy, you should really watch the series and OVAs
  9. I know what you mean, but for some reason none of mine ever stay in as nicely as I'd like. There's a 'sweet spot' that holds OK, but I wish they'd stay in better.
  10. The big boxed set of the Turbo Custom comes with the equipment that is anime accurate to the Last Red Shoulder OVA, which does not include an actual red shoulderpiece. The 'Red Shoulder' equipment set is anime accurate to the machine from the first 1/4 of the TV series when Chrico busts out of Udoo in a machine cobbled together from pitfighter units, with the red shoulder added by Vanilla on the wrong side, which Chirico comments on, revealing that he's a former Red Shoulder. One thing worth mentioning is that on none of the big missile launchers by Yamato (the Weapons pack rocket pack, or either of the shoulder units) do the rockets stay in well. The friction nubbins on the inside of the rocket tubes are not substantial enough, and the rockets slide right out... a little white glue on the ass-end will fit them in there without ruining anything tho. EDIT: The big box 'Red Shoulder' set is good, with the improved Scopedog that is somewhere between the 'v2' and the Turbo Custom for joint tightness, and a great all-inclusive set. Someday I really oughta make room for all my 'Dogs again, because I'm really starting to forget what I own.
  11. No, because the Turbo Custom is from the OVA "Last Red Shoulder", not actually a Red Shoulder machine... To answer your other question, the Brutish is improved like the Red Shoulder was... the TC is basically a 'v3', with all of the joints being tweaked again. I've got everything except the Scopedog II and the Purple unit (which I DID have but sold for cheap). The Red Shoulder and Brutish and the like are good, but not perfect... mine are a bit more loose than normal because I played with them alot. The TC is the best option, perfect out of the box, and hasn't loosened up at all.

  13. Glad I could help. I wasn't initially planning on it, but I ended up grabbing the 2-pack in addition to the regular. The white Zomb-bot was too cool to pass up, and the Cherry Shadow with skirt and heels should display really well.
  14. Seriously... I love me some Micromasters and the bases. Some of my favorite toys. Eventually I'm going to have to save for Grandus (and then actually be able to FIND one) to complete the set... then add in Countdown and make a giant MM base around the Zone.
  15. March 19 Hong Kong time (Thursday night for me in Mass). I can't wait... she's gonna look fantastic next to Tommy, whom i really, really wish would finally be ready to ship. That's the only problem with preordering directly from 3A... I get the club discount and access to special variants, but the lead time on the preorders is looooong.
  16. Can't wait for the Iron Man stuff, but the cost is gonna kill me... lately I've been mackin' on Ashley Wood stuff by 3A toys like this: I like the more comic-booky stylings of figures like this. Hot Toys makes photo-realistic and perfect representations of what we see on screen, but alot of the other 1/6 brands (especially military) have a real awkward look to it when the costumes and such are trying to be hyper-realistic but the head and hand sculpts are goofy and toy-like.
  17. I think we already know the answer to that question, based on the fact that it's never happened... we have no $200 Regult toy because it won't sell. EDIT: So, does our already devolving into more 1/60 debate that most of you guys don't like the smaller toy at all? Because that would be a shame.
  18. Yeah, this is part of why it's awesome. I only have a couple of the Taka mini vinyls, but they're fantastic.
  19. Revoltechs are non-scale... they might be around ~1/144 anecdotally, but you'll give yourself a headache trying to get anything more accurate. And I think your prices for a 1/60 Reguls are wishful thinking... the Destroids were ~$100 and they were pretty simple, and much smaller. Any large scale Regults is going to need some serious engineering in those long spindly legs, and end up being really, really complex. And big.
  20. I've got two waiting in my BBTS Pile O' Loot, and just saw the review on CDX. I cannot wait to get mine.. I had initially preordered 3, but dropped it down to 2 when I had to start placing Iron Man 2 toy preorders The toy looks pretty much perfect, and I think that, as usual, most of you guys are missing the point. This is a cheap, simple, rugged, and fun toy of a design that gets hardly any love, done in vinyl to keep costs down and durability high, made in what appears to be a rapidly expanding scale. For the price, you can collect a couple and not feel bad, and they will look great fighting your Toynami (and maybe Bandai) 1/100 scale toys. All you guys expecting a high-tech engineered monstrosity akin to the 1/60 toys are: A) Crazy and B) Looking at the wrong toy This guy isn't made to appease those people, so why try to dock it for not being something it was never meant to? If that's what you're waiting for, your best bet is the Robot Damashii line from Bandai, which has only been MacF so far. That's not what this toy is... this toy looks like the cartoon, costs nothing, and has enough articulation to function next to some more complicated toys without being a statue. Anyone complaining about the articulation, go buy the Revoltech and tell me how that works out (Yes I have one, yes it's posable, no it's not great). Keeping the vinyl Regult simple means that the toy has no problems, which, for Macross/Robotech toys, is something.
  21. I bought the gray space-machine CMs figure and it's a POS. I would never buy another CMS figure like it... unbelievably cheap feeling plastic and terrible joints. The toy is in a constant state of falling apart, and broken in two places. And yet, CMS can whip out the Brave Gokin Ingram, one of my favorite toys ever made.
  22. Search for Yamato Scopedog here on the boards... I've said my peace more than enough times. Bottom line is, the Turbo Custom is perfect.
