Anybody preordering Hot Toys Robocop? I'm thinking about it... $260-290 is expensive. Guess that's what happens when they add diecast. frakk it. It's a year away and I bet it will be $400 bucks when it comes out haha. Preordered. -

So sad. Yeah it makes sense that those Jackals at Harmony Gold would do that with Toynami.

I still have the Mcfarlane Bike, Kenada, and Tetsuo. They are still pretty good toys for their price. That's a pretty sick bike. How much does it weigh? -

I watch Red Letter Media every Sunday or so. I think they are the best review team since Siskel and Ebert back in the day. Completely agree with most everything they say and bring up. I think they are a little hard on the film though, being such lovers of early Star Trek.- 1020 replies

What are the chances of getting more Ride Armor Masterpieces from Toynami? I know Beagle went under, but it would be nice to have more entries in the series. I don't understand why they put Rand out after Scott.. as they are essentially the same toy. They should have released Rook or Lancer to make it feel like people were getting a new toy. Anyway, does anybody know more about Toynami's release schedule?

It wasn't very big. Keep in mind this is the South East United States. Most of the people in line for autographs were older guys, and the convention seems to cater to younger people (they have raves, and rock bands.) I doubt most of the people who attended the convention had ever heard of him, as Macross was a little past their time, and of the people in the room most were probably Robotech fans, not really knowing much about Macross as a whole. A lot of people seemed to know what Gunbuster was, and their seemed to be a Gundam following as well. The Panel I attended probably only had about 50-60 people tops, and would fit maybe twice that. It wasn't huge, but it wasn't tiny either. The signing line was probably twice that, but it moved fairly quickly.

From what we've gathered they buy stock from stores that don't sell online, locally in Japan. They put it up at a mark-up and sell it online because that's where the market has shifted. This makes perfect sense as the Japanese economy is down and the yen is weak. The store owners move their stock at a mark-up, make some profit, and are able to free up store space for faster local sales. NY gets a larger stock to sell to foreigners online at a slight profit (remember they are paying slightly under retail) You get a chance to get a toy you wouldn't normally get. Everybody wins. NY couldn't get this many directly from Bandai. They must have good relationships with these other stores who probably have a hard time selling them in Japan. I doubt frontier is that popular, and if it is, they are still pricy, specialty goods in a weak economy. The more I think of the Japanese economic situation the less I think it has to do with increased production runs, or lack of interest in the toy, NY has just shifted the market to the west (and all around the world) and found a way to increase stock locally. I assume that NY is in a position to do this because they have shipping ties to China or a better and cheaper way to ship. They have basically fixed Bandai's distribution problem for them, yet people complain.

Why it was confusing and rather unsatisfying: I'm sure I missed some details as I haven't see the TV show in a decade or so. I'm just looking at these as stand alone movies and evaluating their impact as a whole. Anyway, it looked and sounded amazing, but the overall story was a bit of a drag, both metaphorically and story wise. I need to see it again, but hopefully the fourth installment will be less annoying. haha.

Well that confirms they are just taking white VF1 stock and throwing a new sticker sheet in the box haha. Decal/sticker sheet and water transfer decals are included. A recognisable anniversary logo is on the center of the aircraft. The aircraft comes with armament. Stand not included. Really? No stand for $160 bucks?

Trailer wasn't funny at all. Seemed forced.

I find it's best not to worry too much about those kinds of plot holes. It's a little annoying, but eventually it will kill your enjoyment haha.- 1020 replies

Good input FF95gj. We might see toy companies move to Korea or China and away from Japan. Who knows.
