  1. Jenius - That's one reason I collect toys. The challenge and fun of transformation. It helps me relax as I treat it as a big puzzle. I get frustrated sometimes, mostly because of time constraints, but I look forward to such a zen like level of awareness with my fingers. Yup, Benson13, I had zero issues with the wings. Glad I missed out on that with the Alto version haha! David - It clicks and locks if you transform it correctly. There are two lock holes in the back that slot the wing section to the back, and one big snap at the bottom of the back plate for the torso section. I agree that the The head does feel a little loose hanging up there with no clear lock, but it doesn't droop. This also frees you up for lots of head movement. When handling the piece I would def, suggest grabbing the top part of the leg, as those super tight leg joints hold like a champ. If you start grabbing the chest it's going to knock something loose if you're not careful. Also really pleased with how tight the hands are, though I found slotting the gun pod a little annoying. Maybe because the lower fingers were a little tight.
  2. Thanks for the help guys. Never had this much shipped at once.
  3. Yeah, it's hard to hold the toy and configure it without hitting a flap or lock that screws the whole thing up. It can be a little frustrating. Especially the locking bar under the cockpit. I pushed that thing back up into the cockpit 100 times. But if you have some patience it's very rewarding.
  4. So, um.. I have a lot of stuff sitting in Rinkya's warehouse. I need to start moving it to my place! haha. What are the pro's and con's of declaring the proper value? Should I declare the going market value, the MSRP value, or a minimal value so customs won't do something weird? Any help is appreciated.
  5. http://imgur.com/a/fHe2Q The transformation was fun... for the most part. I had issues with: 1. The little slidey black tabs in the armpit. wasn't sure how to position them at first. 2. Pulling one of the legs all the way out at the hip. That little pop was fine on one leg, but annoying on the other. 3. I didn't figure out that I had the head twisted improperly until I was almost finished, and I had to backtrack. 3. Locking the chest in. I finally figured out that back plate and the mid nose cone snap together near the bottom, not up at the back. Overall it's very sturdy and looks beautiful. I'm still a bit pissed about the scuffs from the factory... it's like buying a new car with scratches on it, but maybe I'll get another at some point. I don't think the transformation is any worse than the Masterpiece Skywarp, other than fiddling with the chest locks. I love the articulation in the legs and the metal bits.
  6. Somebody was looking for one.. forget who
  7. It's like with any music, you borrow from other things. Still, it's pretty funny.
  8. Yeah that's normal retail. You'd save on shipping.
  9. I wouldn't get too excited about renewals/re-releases just yet. We still don't know the nature of this 1/60 toy with "fun interactive features", yet.
  10. There were 31+ bids haha. It was jumping 1,000 yen every few minutes. I just decided that's as high as I would go. I've been spending a lot lately and another $600 bucks wasn't making me want to pull the trigger. I have like 6 items hanging out at the Rinkya warehouse that I haven't even had shipped! I really want one but I think I can find a better deal if I hold out. Plus I have a lot of other things to enjoy in the mean time
  11. I bid it up to $52,000 but I didn't want to pay any more. Hope the guy who won enjoys it
  12. I don't think being in stock on a couple sites for a few weeks counts as a shelf warmer. Maybe in crazy macross circles it might be haha.
  13. I'm fast on the draw partner I got up early this morning to bid on one in Japan and lost it because my computer at work crapped out. Didn't think I'd find one $70 bucks cheaper tonight
  14. Woot. Just scored a VF-1j 30th TV for $130 on Mandarake! I missed it on Yahoo Japan this morning and it sold for $160, which woulda been $200 before shipping.
  15. Anybody notice the bridge riff on Seikan Hikou is "Smoke on the Water"? Hilarious deculture! haha
  16. Send it back and have them send you another one. Sooner you start the better Also, the best picture I could get: Still learning my new camera. http://i.imgur.com/NdC18m4.jpg
  17. I really think a lot of peopled passed because they just got the Alto. Which is too bad, because I think this is a much sexier color.
  18. Sometimes it comes open like a champ... sometimes it creases like a bastard and I say "oooof!" Am I missing some obvious trick here? Sometimes I push the opposite side of the box forward to give it room to clear the tabs, and sometimes I use a plastic knife to jimmy it up.
  19. So did anybody get one without the little scratches and scruffs? That's kind of annoying haha. Really enjoying the weight of it. The transformation looks tough. Also, you guys had me super scared to get the cockpit open.. it came right up with a little hair pin. haha.
  20. Waiting on: Weathered Destroid Defender comes tomorrow. VF-0A unknown soldier and 5 Yamato Votoms pieces. And a kakizaki with super/strike and a 1/48 Kakizaki. I wanted to wait til I got it all to take pics... but I couldn't. haha
  21. The VF-27 seems pretty popular
  22. Finally! Deculllturrrrrre!
  23. I think it's a little out of column A and a little out of Column B. I think Bandai made more, and then some of the shops stocked up on more than usual. Also, Frontier has been out for awhile, and a lot of people might not be buying up a re-release of a toy they already have 3-4 versions of. Remember the Alto 171 just came out a few months ago. It's just bad planning by Bandai IMO. It's like when Beagle/Toynami made the Stick Cyclone, then went straight to the Ray Cyclone... they look exactly the same!! Why didn't they go and make one of the other variants to keep people buying. Shrug.
