Bandai can definitely do better than that but it seems to me they just don't do it for Macross.

Um, maybe it's because the other companies aren't that gay? If you are ever aware of Bandai's way of doing things, they are very inflexible, Ie:- they don't really practice listening to fans... the ugly prototype you saw is what you'll probably get as a final product. The only saving grace about Bandai is we can be sure of the durability and the mechanics of transformation will be of top quality. So yeah, it's much easier for Yamato to imbue better build quality and mechanics on top of their already superb valk accuracy. That's why the level of butthurt is never the same. Don't know why you find it cute though - I don't swing that way.

Now it's going for $500 thereabout over at Evilbay and it's a rare occasion that it pops up as well. Let's hope the anime is popular enough to make them reissue it or make a better one.

I fail to see how wanting Bandai's better engineering and mechanics on a Yamato transforming VF makes us Bandaides. From where I look at it, it is the believe I have that Yamato could do it if they want to - that you get such comments. Maybe we should just stick to Yamato versus Toynami like yesterday; only Toynami has moved on from making toys to distributing them - that alone Yamato wouldn't have a chance in hell of ever competing. Whoops, now I'm a Toynamiaide!

The profile is ugly. The intakes are too bulky, it could suck a herd of elephants and spit them out no problem!

Brigitte was very beautiful during her prime. But I disliked her version of the White haired witch. Maybe it's because they went the way of the Chinese opera makeup on her. When compared, Li Bingbing won hands down on looks alone with that role.

I love the way it looks too but the pains of the looseness, the fragility of the plastic and the non-entitlement for a decent replacement for free, far outweighs the pleasure I derived from its beauty. I'm not trying to incite hatred for your toys, but you can't have a measurable result if you're undecided - especially when this poll could say something to Yamato.

I can't say my complaint posts were informative just my own realistic experiences amplified by rage... so yes and no. Btw, why the undecided slot? When it comes down to it, all experiences are either a yes or a no. You don't pay good money to sit on a fence - just my 2 cents.

They just have to provide a "T" nub for the noses to slide on and off. No cutting required. It's possible because the area where the swing bar for the legs is not affected.

I'd say wait it out for quality's sake. I want to buy the '21 as well but not if it's gonna give me the same kind of dissatisfaction their '19 manifested. But then again, we've waited almost an eternity for the 1/60 YF19 if anyone care to jog their memory - and it still came out like sh1t. Caveat emptor guys.

Never think that just because a company makes a high end product of your favoutite anime, they have your interest at heart but rather your cash as their interest. And I have to disagree that Macross can be solely sustained within Japan alone. The fact that you guys (active collectors) are here along with Graham contributing to this site, as well as robotech.com and a host of other Macross-dedicated fansites and forums tell me that. If Yamato can have guys like Graham to downplay each flaw that fans point out in a Yamato as perceived panic, I don't see anything wrong with how hard I knock on these fellas - you guys forgive and forget, and loosen your purse strings too easily.

I don't buy their first releases anymore; I used to do it cuz they were he only ones around - I think everyone should refrain from buying their first releases. One doesn't need to be a hardcore collector to feel the lost of quality. There is always "something" wrong with each Yamato release, yes even the second and third releases of the same valk. I can't put a Yamato valk next to my Binaltechs and Soul of Chogokins without LMAO.

Actually we've been thru this... the purchase of their first releases some how guarantees future releases. If their first releases don't do well, they could pull the plug on it altogether. Factor this with the fact that the valks are the most beautiful in the market, you get a catch 22 situation. To me, I see it as Yamato making hostage of the valks with their bad manufacturing practice. In other words, if you get a bad piece, it's like being served sh!t at the Lafitte - same gag reflex. But nah, you've only started collecting so I'll cut you some slack. As for Yamato, they can kiss my arse!

Yamato ARE THE ONLY ONES that screw-up on the same things they've been working on since day one, many years ago. Other companies don't have that kind of privilege to do over. They were damn lucky nobody else are making the valks from SDF to Mac +. If Yamato are the sole licensee for the three Macross sequels, I hope to God that sheer bad luck or thru freak disaster will bring an end to their gravy train so other companies will have their chance. If they ain't gonna piss properly and clean up on their first releases without charging for it as a new purchase, they don't deserve use the pot.

I get jaded with this hobby sometimes, it's because one can't always get a complete satisfaction out of one single thing... but the Macross franchise is so diverse there is something to buy out of it everytime - at least for me. There was a time I would focus on the Yamatos, then move on to Bandai/Takas, I'll get the CMS and other gashapons to fill in the gaps, I'll try to complete my Macross anime books, posters, soundtracks - YOU MUST GET THE GOLDBOOK, then back to Yamatos again. With Bandai producing, the DX Macross Frontier Valks, we have one thing more to look forward to already. I'd have gatherings with my fellow Macross fans and talk... well, Macross cuz it isn't just about the toys and we would "poison" each other with stuff we don't already own. And at the end of the day, I'll put them all in one area of my room and build a Macross shrine - it gets extra special as time progresses. Don't know if you're doing that already if you haven't maybe you should try that.

Wish/would be nice or not, the point is Yamato are suppose to be the expert on this stuff. If fans can repeatedly point out the flaws on these things, they ought to buck up or pack it up.

The nose option idea is fantastic. It caters to both lovers of the fighter and battroid. And best of all, it's workable - only Yamato needs to make it work.

FYI, you're not suppose to take too much. They make your gunpod small. And jam your firing. You seem to be too happy for a normal person, better stay away from them. Just a friendly advice.

Nobody criticized these attempts. They were ingenious. It's just that they ALWAYS leave something (that is so obvious to us) undone. The seam on 1/48 VF1S head, falling armament on the SV51 and the non-locking chestplate on the 1/60 YF19 are just some good examples. And all of them will have hairline cracks at articulation areas later on. Nobody ever said they were child's play. They designed the toys with minds of geniuses, then they'd make them as though they're building sand castles. Look at the whole deal from this perspective shall we? Yamato has spent so much effort on generating a beautiful trasforming valk. They charge a pretty penny for it too. Now tell me - does it make any sense for you that they give us shoddy fittings on top of cheap plastic on crucial areas over and over again? I've had transforming MODEL KITS with plastic parts that can last better than Yamato's. And the best part is they are all ABS. Not a single piece are made of Yamato's much vaunted POM. Maybe I should make excuses for them myself like you. That way, I can live happier.

Interesting news. Has Hiroaki Samura finished his manga yet? I haven't been following lately but it seems like he's taking forever to do it.
